1.
So what's the difference? Why make that sort of comment when it's Barefaced but not when it's any other company? I'd really like to know, because the general anti-Barefaced stuff that always gets posted whenever anyone ever mentions the 'B' word is frankly baffling and I just don't get it.
I am a life long fan of BF, I just don't buy the whole fanboy thing
 2.
I can't even determine the make of monitors are for the Tickled Trout... I've got zip chance of finding anything else out.
Potatoes
 3.
Rumbled. You know he wouldn't settle for anything less than a world tour.
Will he be using a B/F one ten with an SVT to play the Big Yankie?
 4.
No-one says Mark Gooday must be laughing all the way to the bank when people talk about Ashdown gear. Or Dave Boonshoft when people talk about Aguilar gear.
Well spotted👍
 5. These are on back order according to the Bass Gear website at the moment. Any trades?
 6.
Eh?
Google is your friend
 7.
TBH even as a fan I find myself slightly embarrassed that there are two barefaced worshipping threads on the go at the same time, FFS can you pace yourself people please.
Yeah and guess who's laughing all the way to the bank with you guys all competing to be BFF no1😃
 8.
He's on holiday and I'm still busy trying to figure out whether it's d&b or db monitors in question.
Holiday or world tour?
 9. Do they still used that special snow effect foam in BF cabs?
 10.
Alex, oh Alex....
I hope it was as good for him as it clearly was for you ☺️
 11.
I would imagine the UK/US exchange rates aren't working in our favour at the moment.
This ^ Mark Stickley was telling me about it when I popped into the shop earlier this week. It is making US made gear very expensive compared to European gear.
 12. Correction, now bringing a pair of CN112's instead
 13. Super piece of kit, I really regretted selling mine until I picked up a couple of CN112's In a live mix these things are a thing of beauty
 14.
Thanks Gareth, appreciated Ian, you have NO idea how much I lusted after that Red 63RI Precision Rich had for sale As I said, terminal GAS
Me too, beautiful bass, and Rich is a great guy to deal with...
 15.
I'm slumming it and decided to get some Clair Brothers hooked into my bathroom. Can't stand hearing people taking a dump.
I wish there was a like button on this forum
 16.
Exactly as I thought and I do exactly the same ad you did, middy biting cutting tone for me I stage, delicious warm thump for the audience! No need to Mic it up or tilt the cab if it's a clear tone for monitoring. You can see now how one quality monitor in front of you and a di box would also do most gigs, those stacks we see at gigs are just nonsense to sell them to us weekend warriors at The Tickled Trout!
That gig is way out of my league, I do have a Nexus line array system hooked up in my lounge though, it is overkill but I can't abide cheap gear😉
 17.
Lol Well, let me know the outcome...I'm not sure if my wallet can take it though...
Not sure mine can either...
 18.
AAAAAAARGGGHHHHHHHH! This is another reason I did not comment because I did not want to have to field questions like these! Pressure to describe tone in words! The word clean always makes me think of sterile and that is NOT what the B Amp does. It is warm and full of headroomy goodness. The EQ is very, very good. Really easy to focus in on what you want to cut or boost. I just like the "hair" that the Monique puts on my notes (valve saturation apparently!). I am sure that there is a pedal out there that does such a thing, but I have got to the stage of not trying to fix things which work for me.
I wonder whether Jim may release a hairware update at some point, kind of like the TC tube tone but better... I kind of like a clean but rich sounding rig that brings out the growl of my basses so I think the B amp may work. Need to speak nicely to the accountant at home😬
 19.
Owen, I own and enjoy a Tecamp Puma with my CN112s. I didn't gel with the Monique when I tried it through the NV115 at a friend's house. We may be at different ends of the tone spectrum...do you think lovers of 'clean' sounds, like me, will gel with the B Amp?
Sounds like we have the same rig😀 I am going to have to go to Bass Direct again😁
 20.
Terminal Ian, you? I'm down to 1 cab now and I've got it into my head that a TTE will make my "stack" look more macho . Yup, that sad. Apart from that, I'm only lusting after DanEly and JimmiElliotts Precisions. Which is pretty good for me
I Need to check in with the doctor I think😂 Just picked up Fretmeisters CN112's... Hoping I am done for a while although if an AVRI precision turns up...
 21.
...and in fact we did use a pre-EQ DI! It wasn't what I would have chosen ideally, as I'd prefer the soundman took my tone as a starting point and re-EQed it as suits the room.
Your cabs will require different eq to the P/A, all of the engineers that I have dealt with have asked for a pre signal for that reason. The best way for them to get "your sound" is to mike your cab
 22.
I was not going to post about it because I do not want to sound as if I am criticising the B Amp in any way whatsoever. It is a great piece of kit.
I wouldn't read it as criticism I would read it as a personal taste thing. What works for you might be different for someone else. I have not used Monique but hear good things about it. Would you say this was a battle of old school vs more modern?
 23. If that is £600 for the pair then that has to be bargain of the century!
 24. Great little amp How's the GAS these days?
 25.
Well, we've a couple of warm-up gigs this weekend - with our sound engineer on the desk. He is happy to take a post-eq DI - so I'm happy.
Interesting, I always send a pre eq signal through the DI so that the signal is unaltered, that way any eq that you add or subtract for the room does not affect the signal that the engineer receives.
