1. The hot DI was an issue for the early Terror 500, I understand that these issues were resolved a couple of years ago and should not affect the Terror 1000 as it is more recent
2.
How you getting on with it?
Awesome piece of kit, I let my old one go, big mistake! It is like coming home
3. I know someone around North Leicester if that is of any use?
4. Did not win, I was at work and missed out
5. Is this unit also on eBay with crazy low start price?
6. Looks like a nice little unit tried one a few years ago and liked the vibe! I think I have you ex AE212 by the way
7. Ampeg svt with 8x10 or a Mesa 400 + with an NV 412 will get the glasses rattling nicely, go big be a man!
8. A pleasure to deal with, nice one Lee Ian
9. Better late than never! Great guy to deal with, no messing about, hope to deal with you again. Ian
10. Frank just bought a cab off of me, really nice guy, great to talk to. Totally recommended!
11. Just bought an AE212 off Martin, great guy, cab as described, would be really happy to deal with him again(as long as he doesn't want the cab back) Ian
12.
Roadie ready
+1000
13. If Mesa are priced per kilo then they offer exceptional value
14.
That is odd. I've only ever heard that the AE cabs are quite tightly voiced in terms of bass.
The 10 loaded cabs are tight, the AE212 is a different beast altogether, I have one paired with a little mark 800 and the low end is huge even sat on a gramma pad, all relative though! If Molan ever wants to loose the AE210 I might even be able to find a good home for it.....
15.
The 112H cab is brand new so it'll be he latest version. I've been running the basic combo against the AE210 today and it's really interesting to compare them. The Berg definitely goes deeper and he combo sounds a little boxy. However as you start boosting the volume the AE, to my ears, starts getting a bit boomy whilst the 112 combo starts really snarling and coming to life. For the rock band I'm in it sounds great with a fairly bright and aggressive sounding Sei bass
Glad you are diggin it, am intrigued by the ae210 sounding boomy, that is not a description that I have ever heard about that cab! I guess on a wooden floor or powered by a streamliner .....
16.
I was thinking of adding a 121H cab for gigging and just using the combo on its own for rehearsing
Try an a/b with your AE210 and you will hear what I am talking about, that is one amazing little cab, especially if it is v2
17.
I've been looking at an original combo but haven't been able to find much info about what the changes were when the LMII came out. The one I've seen is a good price but I don't know if the II is worth the extra cost.
Good question, not sure there would be enough of an improvement to justify a large cost difference, having said that it would be newer, if you really want a Markbass combo the cmd121h might be worth a look, has a horn instead of piezo. Much much better
18. I am fairly sure that from ii to iii the differences are the Di and a better limiter, particularly in 8 ohm the ii does compress quite harshly assuming that the cmd has the same electronics as the cmd combo. I used to run that combo until I compared it to a berg single 12, the combo went, most people reckon the tweeter is the weak link. A cn112 with an lmiii would wipe the floor with it
19.
Excellent review, covers all the things you need to know. Part of me is GASing to upgrade to 3rd gen BF but tbh I am pretty happy with my existing BF rig. Can I suggest that the fanboys and haters start their slanging on a separate thread?
I really want a gen 3 cab they must be the best cabs ever, and Alex is just the most amazing cab designer, I hope to meet him some day what an honour that would be! All other cab manufacturers should stop cab production and there should only be Barefaced cabs available for purchase, this should be enforced as a new law outlawing other inferior cabs. Anyone found using other cabs should be hung drawn and quartered, they are useless to society anyway as they can obviously not hear properly;). No one was biting so I thought I would add some humour! On a serious note, really glad that you are happy with your new rig, looks great on stage and must have been real easy to carry.
20. Hey Richard sorry to hear of your handle woes
