1. Up for sale is my 1 Spot single 9 volt power supply, have used it just a handfull of times! Comes with the original box, is less that 12 months old and in great condition. Can be used to power several pedals at once if you have a daisy chain, if you don't then I have a fairly new EBS daisy chain that I can throw in for £5.00 exta Am looking for £15.00, you can either collect from Leicester or I can post to a UK address Thanks for looking Ian
2. Am selling my Polytune as I rarely use it, it is under 12 months old and comes with the original box. The self adhesive feet came off within a few weeks of buying it, apart from that it is in great condition! Looking for £45.00, you can either collect from Leicester or I can post to a UK address Thanks for looking Ian
3. Hey all, Looking to move on my Bergantino HD210, it is virtually as new and comes with the Bergantino padded cover, I also have a good quality speakon that I can throw in if required. Purchased brand new from Bass Direct this year, and in fairness you would be had pushed to distinguish it from a brand new one in the shop. Great litle cab that will cover those gigs that a 112 cannot quite cope with. Sounds great on its own or paired with another HD210 or even an HD112. Can be used horizontally or vertical Looking for £525.00, Collection from Leicester or I can meet you part way if that helps. Can also mail to a UK address as I have the original box and packaging. PM me if it foats yor boat! Thanks for looking Ian Sorry for the confusion, somehow I had attached pictures of my hd212, have amended with the correct pictures!! Oops
4. Hey Gaf, let me know when those AE210's are too much for you, I will be happy to relieve you of them
5.
Having just acquired a Little Mark 800 I can say I am delighted. It's light as a feather and has enough power to knock pictures off walls!! It's a digital amp, so if a valve amp is your thing it won't be for you.
Brutal power love mine!
6.
Oh, I don't know. Any old port in a storm, I say.
The miss use of ports in the Brighton are is well publicised!
7. The well known bass shop owner does have very good ears and knows what works and what doesn't, the shop is expressing the same point of view as many others, that just does not fit with what bf fans want to hear. Incidentally there are lots of manufacturers who approach that shop wanting their kit to be stocked, some get a yes, others ....... I have never received anything other than objective advice when I have shopped there, sometimes a little to bluntly but hey ho
8. Just saw an article called "the mysteries of ports" on the bf website, it is essential that you use the correct port!
9. Maybe the photos are poor quality for a reason...
10.
yep... have to agree. Stage sound is massively important to me.
Stage sound is hugely important, IEM's are great for cleaning it up cabs might even become a thing of the past in the future, then we can all have GAS over Ultimate Ears vs Senheiser etc
11.
I went from a pair of Berg 12's to a Big baby and I have to say I like both. There is certainly a difference in sound though, the Bergs added significant "colour" in comparison to the BF. You must mean a different colour of course It was a very nice sounding colour though.
12. See one, hear one, see through the hype, something else will be in favour soon... Stick with what you have and spend your money on lessons or some pt sessions
13.
that's the trick allright. A task that is difficult to accomplish, particularly if like me you are starved of shops selling the latest pieces of kit. It's then easy to get sucked in by the online hype. Even if you do find your dream set up in some store or other, it can often fall down in a live performance situation.
+1 there have been several pieces of kit that I have tried which have been really hyped on forums and I have then been really disappointed with when demo'd, conversely my little mark 800 has zero hype and on Talkbass even has some criticism yet I absolutely love it! I have found that trying in a shop certainly helps although there is no substitute for playing a rig live to know how it works. I bought a Berg Ae212 a couple of years ago based on reviews, it sounded great on its own but in a band mix really struggled to stand out, lesson learned! I now look for a rig that on its own sounds slightly too forward in the upper mids/treble, in a live setting I find this gives me great definition and clarity, at home I just eq as nesc
14.
Wonder will the Barefaced big twin dislodge the CN212 from its perch?
Not sure it really has a perch! As much as I think it is a great sounding cab with minimal weight I do actually prefer the some what heavier HD series. There have already been several CN212's for sale on Talkbass and one on Basschat so they are clearly not for everyone. There are lots of great cabs out there, the trick is finding the one that pairs with well with your kit and delivers the tone that's in your head.
15.
A Bear that's huge and growly?
16. Baer Ml112 sounds huge and growly with the Terror
17. I think a lot of it is down to personal taste and also matching kit. I am always really careful to make sure there is synergy between amp cab and bass, some combinations work others don't!
18.
Personally, I'd opt for a Berg CN212.
+1 awesome piece of kit, not cheap but hey ho!
19.
Thanks for the great suggestions guys. I'd love to go down the midget route but don't have the space (or the cash) for it, plus I suspect it would get left at home other than for the 'big rooms'. I've thought about selling on the BF and getting a BFC with the HF unit but I'm not sure how much hat would help (plus trying to find someone willing to sell/trade is highly improbable). Looks like the Gramma pad first off then!
CN212 can't go wrong one cab solution, full bottom end sweet top and punchy through the mids! A classic
20.
Hi Chris, again it's room dependent. If the room is full of carpet and (dare I say it) flock wallpaper it struggles a bit. On a proper stage with shiney floors absolutely no problem.
I prefer large carpeted rooms with my rig and never struggle for any frequencies. My little mark 800 is run completely flat with vpf and vle turned off, tone controls on the Bass set flat. Are the floors that you are playing on hollow? If so a gramma pad will certainly help if you don't already have one.
21. Nordy they are ALL amazing, no dead spots, nice weight, gorgeous neck profiles. Only negative is the price!
22. Markbass are great, really honest sounding heads IMHO maybe a new cab would be a consideration instead?
23. Cn212 all the way, feather light and TONE from heaven
24. What a shame, great products, great company, great customer service, have dealt with both Jeff and Aged Horse and have nothing but good things to say about them. Who will Fender destroy next, taking bets.....,,,,
