2.
Not Ashdown.... If you rated Eden, then I don't understand how Ashdown gets into the conversation I had their Evo 500 plugged into some cabs I was selling ...and the cabs were pretty clean and all the amp did was stink up the sound no matter what I did... I understand why people might say they are muddy..
I have only ever had 2 amps fail, both Ashdown, they were heavy and muddy too! (Abm) There are far better micros out there imho Go to Bass Direct and test drive some.... Oh and malke sure you set a limit on your credit card before you go!
3.
That's great that they sorted the DI. The USA guys seem to love this amp, and pay a lot for it! I have the 200b and I'm always tempted by one.
Yeah they were really helpful in my decision making, I would have loved a 200 but I think the weight would have been too much, this seemed like the best compromise. Paired with my Baer Ml112 cabs it sounds savage!
4. If you like natural valve warmth, huge low end and a gritty mid that will push into overdrive if desired then the terror 500 is a ripper of an amp.
5.
interesting. I wonder if they could resolve the DI issue for older amps?
I doubt it but even if it doesn't it will impact the tone and gain. I have just fitted a pair of JJ premium tested ecc83s tubes from hotrox and they are an improvement over the jj tubes that orange fitted. They are smoother and the valve overdrive seems more musical to my ear.
6. Just for info I have spoken to an engineer at orange technical. Hr tells me that orange now use jj tubes in their amps and the DI issue has been resolved. Took the top off mine yesterday and there were a pair of jj tubes installed. My amp is dated may 12
7. I used to have a Markbass cms102p combo, a single Bergantino 1x12 walked all over it. Go the modular route and spend a bit more!
8. Baer ml112 will match a premium 2x10 for volume and produce a lot more low end. I have 2 of them but one is more than enough most of the time with a 900 watt micro head. Got mine from Mark Stickley, totally amazing guy with great gear in his shop, try before you buy!
9. Streamliner 900 and vanderkley is sublime, shuttle 9.0 and any berg is awesome, both heads and Baer ml112 is in another league altogether imho
10. All pm's replied to, may consider swap/trade with Baer ML112 so that I have matching pair....
11.
as soon as my eden rig goes ill be having this off you. wanted one for ages. hopefully its still around next week
Thanks for your interest, this is an awesome piece of kit, I am only selling as I have downsized my rig. Kinda know I will probably regret it sometime soon.....
12. In short, the HD212 will walk all over any 1x12 or 2x10 cab, I have a Baer ML112, which falls into the category of a super 12, it still however cannot deliver anywhere near what the HD212 can, but still out performs a 2x10. I moved over to Bergs from a Markbass CMD102P combo several years ago, when I did an A/B test at Bass Direct, a single AE112 wiped the floor with the Markbass combo for clarity, low end, and volume. It seems their heads are not bad but their speaker cabs are not the best IMHO. Tonally the HD series are different to the AE series, they are a lot less brash in the high mids, and a little more pronounced in the low mids making them a lot warmer and less in your face! On a big stage the HD212 with a good head will easily hold its own in most situations, I cannot imagine a situation apart from a loud metal gig, or a large arena where you would get anywhere near its limit, especially with P/A support. The cab is in Leicester at my home address, if you are potentially interested then you are more than welcome to try it out. I have a Shuttle 9.0 which you can try it with, alternatively you can bring your own head along as well
13. Have had some interest but still for sale..... Awesome tone and volume in one box from one of the worlds finest cab builders Will happily consider sensible offers!!
14. Bump for an amazing cab, I have one and love it!
15. For sale is my Bergantino HD212 bass cab. It is less than 12 months old and in excellent condition, purchased new from Mark @ Bass Direct for £875.00 including padded cover. The only damage is a few small marks and a few cuts in the tolex on the bottom of the cab from being moved, from the top it looks pretty mint! I am not taking any trades, this is just a straight sale. Below is some technical info, the cab is thunderously loud, has deep low end, articulate mids, and a nice clear treble due to the adjustable tweeter. It has been used at home and on a weekly basis at church, it has never been pushed anywhere near its limit! plenty of feedback on talkbass.... Asking price is £650 or nearest offer! Sandberg love

Have just purchased a second hand jj5 ash body, birds eye neck from Mark at bass direct. I am really pleased with this bass and totally shocked at how good it is. My other bass is a Nordy vj4, and while the sandberg does fall short with finish and weight i think it amazing for the money ! Punchy full and clear from top top bottom! Would now recommend this brand to anyone.
17. I tried the HD410 in the shop with the shuttle 9.0 when i bought my HD212 and i thought it sounded huge. I have gigged its predecessor the HS410 and it was unbelievabley loud, clear and deep. I wish I had never sold it. I can only imagine that the HD410 is just as brutal on a gig as the HS just a little bit more high mid content than the HS. Mark is a great guy, i never buy from anyone else now!
