1. I own a BC-1 and a B3k. Both of them have their own sound baked in for sure. I find the BC-1 to have big lows and be a bit sharper up top, useful if you want that harshness. The clean channel is always on, so you'll always have the voicing of this pedal in your tone, and the drive is quite growly too. I wasn't a big fan at first but it does really growl through in the mix. Theres adjustable mid frequency selections too to change the flavour a little bit to what you want, though the boost footswitch just sounds horrible and buzzy. I actually find the drive on the b3k to be a bit smooth and scooped, though this can probably be helped with the EQ on the b7k. This pedal is not transparent in the slightest, even with the blend up, so it depends if you like that inherent voicing or not. I really like the sound of the drive at low gain as it becomes a bit lifeless and fuzzy when you crank it more, but ive always had problems with trying to get unity gain with any setting on this pedal. It's hard to say which one would be best for what you want. The BC-1 is more transparent with better mids and growl, the B7k probably sounds chunkier in the mix with a more natural low drive.
 2. Wah now sold!
 3. How are you finding the SFX B3? Ive been looking at some sort of tone shaping pedal recently, something to thicken my tone up. Is it good for that, or is it more of a bass/treble boost?

 9. Good review. I run mine at 18v and it does give it a lot more headroom. Ive been a bit on/off with the pedal for the past few months, mainly because I wasnt too keen on the sound of it on its own. Ive just recently started playing in a new band and this pedal is a lot better in the mix, as you say adding bite and grind to the tone. You should definitely try it after some dirt too, it really beefs it up and makes it angrier!

 23.
changed up my board AGAIN, more in depth details over on sheps blog: http://www.sheponbas...ony-wright.html it was a follow up interview to one we did previous (which is linked on there too, with my old board) you can also check out my basses etc up on there, ive just started routing up a pedalboard for another project, which should have weirder bass effects (not just LOUD - haha) so i'll get some shots of that up soon, it's looking pretty wacky lets geek out!
Awesome setup. You still using the Pearce BC-1? Ive just noticed the ugly head thing on the cab too, i swear I had the same one about 20 years ago!

 25.
That looks a very cool board! How do you find the Schism?
Thanks Im still a bit undecided on it at the moment, but I think thats more down to the pedals im using. Its great for giving me switching options, but my original plan of running dirt in parallel with a clean blend didnt really work as well as I thought. I think I need the dirt to be more drastically different to make it worthwhile, as at the moment they both kind of work in the same ball park and the sound doesnt change much at all. Im gonna keep experimenting though!
