1. Just bought the Warm Audio Tone Beast TB12 pre, used it on this track, vocals, guitars and bass all recorded using a modded Rode NT2 (available from a guy on eBay for £49 massive improvement in mic quality) through the TB12. What do you think? https://soundcloud.com/9thaspect/the-journey
2. Awesome mic, would trade my right arm for this, interested? Have an envy bump
3. Voted some really good entries, Skol got my vote as the song and mix was great as usual, but the lyrics were so good I couldn't not give him my vote
4.
I won't post the Derek Bailey/Min Tanaka video then!
Only joking post away
5. Referring to the video above 'Where would we be without drugs' I mean why else would you think ' I know, why don't we ................. , some of the best music ever was created under the influence, actually thinking about it most of the best music ever. I leave this video out of that statement, sometimes it seems a good idea, but in the morning........................ ?
6. Here is my entry , imagine a future where music is the life force and superstar DJ's are Rabbits (bear with me on this one ), raves are the places of worship and this is the vibe. Anyway what the hell I'm on about I have no idea, but the picture took me down this route. Want to try and enter more of these this year as I missed quite a few last year due to other commitments. 7. Sorted it out, anyone having any similar problems drop me a PM and will be glad to help
8. Been looking for one of these all through Christmas on here and the minute I spend my dosh on something else here one is, I would have this in a few weeks if still on here. Hope you sell it (not)
9. Here's a good example of the before and after effect of a treated room, if you think about it what you hear as you mix, may not actually be what's going on in the mix itself, when played back through normal speakers in a different place it may sound totally different. If your room has bass problems, you may think the bass level is correct in a mix when it really is way out. Have a listen to the example here and think how hard it would be to mix or even get a decent recording of an instrument or vocal using a mic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cp56A6TcL1E
10. Cheers for feedback, No problem Skol just asking for advice in case anyone is well up on these things. In order to use it on the final mix the simple way is to place the FMR between the monitor outs and the speakers then once happy with the mix, unplug from monitors and put into a channel on audio interface to record it. You can also route it in a similar way with mix control I have been told but need to get my head around this one though.
11. Very nicely done and great video, what's not to like If I had to be picky and give some constructive criticism I would say the lead guitar is a tad high in the mix in the loud solo bits, but great all the same.
12. The Tokyo Dawn Records stuff is awesome and there's a free version of most stuff, really good gear. They do a slick EQ as well that is great, its on the home page at the bottom, really nice and smooth EQ. 13. For stereo I'm thinking I need two TS 1/4 jacks on a Y cable to 1/4 inch stereo ,times 2 of course?
14. Nice one great job, just read all the thread, I would of got frustrated and burned it in a fit a rage. Well done for seeing this through, impressed.
15. Already posted this in repairs and technical, not sure which was the correct place. I want to connect an FMR Really Nice Compressor 1773 to a Focusrite 18i20 for use with my DAW. Read the manual but I am sill not clear on which cables I need, if possible I want to use the FMR on individual tracks and in stereo on the final mix down. If possible could someone put a link to the cables I need to buy for the stereo mix down. Cheers for any advice
16. Hi all, Can anyone help me out with some advice on connecting the FMR 1773 to a Focusrite 18i20. I want to use it in two ways if possible individually on vocal, bass and drum tracks. Also in stereo on the final mix, I have read the manual, but am still not sure what cables to use? I know doh! Any advice really appreciated also a link to the correct cables would be fantastic. Cheers in advance
17. Wanted to enter this one as its the New Year, Happy New Year everyone , cant get any lyrics for this so I am doing a hip hop dancey, guitar loaded rabbit thing. Put something down earlier and although its a bit weird and out of my box (which YOU may need to be to appreciate it), I am going with it, where it will end who knows? I have no idea
18. I have a Blackstar HT-5 head (valve), this is an amazing amp and has great tones I would highly recommend it, you can pick them up second hand for about £150 - 160 ish, I got one for £100 as it had no Blackstar badge. Rang the amazingly helpful people at Blackstar and for something like £2.95 they sent me a new one. it comes with two channels clean and overdriven both sound great, and it has an emulated output button which gives you a 4/12 or 1/12 output cab sound. Good EQ with an IMF dial which gives you a classic American or British sound or anywhere in between. Also has an effects loop.
