1.
That's a lovely three dimensional sound from the mic/pre combination - do you record using 88.2 or 96k by any chance?
I am recording at 48k I think, I am no expert at this recording lark I am just learning. Thanks for feedback, just getting brave enough to attempt vocals
2.
Lovely! Would love some more info on the signal chains. How much gain does the TB12 have on tap? I'm a big ribbon mic fan, and generally like pushing gain on mics for a tiny bit more response anyway.
Here's a link to the specs as I am no expert but it says it has 71db of gain. You seem to be able to really push it as its designed for that. Hope this helps thanks for feedback Also DI ing Bass and Guitar straight in is awesome, you can get so many different sounds. 4. I would have the rack light if postage isn't too expensive?
5. These are now £122.80 with free postage at DV 247
6. Great cover love the Ozrics
7. Just bought the Warm Audio Tone Beast TB12 pre, used it on this track, vocals, guitars and bass all recorded using a modded Rode NT2 (available from a guy on eBay for £49 massive improvement in mic quality) through the TB12. What do you think? https://soundcloud.com/9thaspect/the-journey
8. Awesome mic, would trade my right arm for this, interested? Have an envy bump
9. Well done Old Ben, great track
10. Thanks who ever you are
11. Voted some really good entries, Skol got my vote as the song and mix was great as usual, but the lyrics were so good I couldn't not give him my vote
12.
I won't post the Derek Bailey/Min Tanaka video then!
Only joking post away
13. Referring to the video above 'Where would we be without drugs' I mean why else would you think ' I know, why don't we ................. , some of the best music ever was created under the influence, actually thinking about it most of the best music ever. I leave this video out of that statement, sometimes it seems a good idea, but in the morning........................ ?
14. Here is my entry , imagine a future where music is the life force and superstar DJ's are Rabbits (bear with me on this one ), raves are the places of worship and this is the vibe. Anyway what the hell I'm on about I have no idea, but the picture took me down this route. Want to try and enter more of these this year as I missed quite a few last year due to other commitments. 15. Sorted it out, anyone having any similar problems drop me a PM and will be glad to help
16. Been looking for one of these all through Christmas on here and the minute I spend my dosh on something else here one is, I would have this in a few weeks if still on here. Hope you sell it (not)
17. Here's a good example of the before and after effect of a treated room, if you think about it what you hear as you mix, may not actually be what's going on in the mix itself, when played back through normal speakers in a different place it may sound totally different. If your room has bass problems, you may think the bass level is correct in a mix when it really is way out. Have a listen to the example here and think how hard it would be to mix or even get a decent recording of an instrument or vocal using a mic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cp56A6TcL1E
18. Cheers for feedback, No problem Skol just asking for advice in case anyone is well up on these things. In order to use it on the final mix the simple way is to place the FMR between the monitor outs and the speakers then once happy with the mix, unplug from monitors and put into a channel on audio interface to record it. You can also route it in a similar way with mix control I have been told but need to get my head around this one though.
19. Very nicely done and great video, what's not to like If I had to be picky and give some constructive criticism I would say the lead guitar is a tad high in the mix in the loud solo bits, but great all the same.
20. The Tokyo Dawn Records stuff is awesome and there's a free version of most stuff, really good gear. They do a slick EQ as well that is great, its on the home page at the bottom, really nice and smooth EQ.
