Just put this on ebay (El Maya, Acoustic sold for £500 ages ago) and have had a good response but mostly from Europe, asked for £400 just to see what happened and got offers for the asking price plus offered to pay all shipping, well chuffed, had a pickup offer and cash on collection from an Italian guy in the UK. KRK monitors here I come These must be good, one guy is a collector and says he's been after this bass for years whoo hooo!

September Composition 2014 - A new beginning

Had a listen to all so far and some great ideas and entries going on, not started mine yet, you guys are fast this month. Going to have a pop over the weekend and see what comes out. Well done to all so far! -
We should vote after the sterling effort you guys put in
-
So if I am understanding what people are saying correctly, for the price and the room I will be using these in, the KRK RP6 G3s should be fine and a good investment for general home recording. The vote is yeah rather than nay?

Sounds nice, a cool and really personal touch
I may look impressive to have big loud monitors but unless you have a large enough space with good acoustic treatment they can cause you a lot of problems. Smaller less powerful monitors will do you more favours in smaller spacers. when looking at recommendations see what type of room they are used in and what type of music they are used for.
When you say space what size of space are we talking about for this type of monitor, I am going to use an average sized double bedroom would these be a bad idea for this space, I have read that anything below a six inch speaker isn't recommended for monitoring purposes.

Just thinking about investing in a pair of active KRK RP6 G3s, £328, good move or a stupid one? Need advice, from what I have read for the money people seem to rate these, any advice or guidance appreciated Don't have any more dosh and these will be with me for a long time, so I don't want to buy the wrong monitors.

Great pic should be able to get something done for this one -

I nearly wet myself, whats with the seven string to six conversions? If you make the claims you have to take the stick if you're not what you claim to be!

Just couldn't get into this one as my computer is a bit ancient and wouldn't take the strain, will listen to the entries all in one go when I vote at the end. Nice one to those who persevered with this as it was a hard task, evil Charic

I ordered a new scratch plate for my Stingray 5 from E.B. UK, but when it arrived it was the wrong one, so expecting the usual nightmare I rang Strings and Things who must be the UK suppliers for E.B. as this is where it was posted from on the label. They were really helpful and asked me to mail some pics of my bass, the scratch plate I ordered was a plain black one as I cant condone paying £59.99 for a piece of thin plastic for the nicer ones, the black one was just £20.00. Anyway they rang me the next day and offered to order one from America which could take 6 weeks, I had just waited this long for the one I received or I could have a black pearl one that retails for the more expensive price(with no cash adjustment because of the hassle I had) as they had this in stock for my bass, no brainer there then, they posted it to me the next day and it looks great. Big thanks to String's and Thing's for top class customer service and they couldn't of been more helpful. They have hooked me for future orders for stuff now, the guy who dealt with it all, he was called Steve I think, big thanks if you read this.

July Composition Competition - THE RESULTS!

I seem to be getting steadily worse at this competition, I started with about 14 votes or somewhere near in my first one and have slowly worked my way down to zero. Brilliant or what! One day, one day I will be victorious -

Voted and listened to them all but had to go with Lowdowns for his really great funky dance number, loved it! -
Total head f..., this one could cause overload, no ideas, if my poxy laptop can stand the stress of video and DAW at the same time I will have a go, don't hold your breaths though. Need to read up on how to even start with this one, divorce impending
I do struggle to modulate in my compositions
If I had any idea what that was I would probably struggle as well

Here is my effort, thought I would go all fuzzy guitars and punky/rocky feel. Borrowed my mates Fender Strat which is great to play especially when you are a three chord wonder, its a lot easier to fret than a cheap guitar. Recorded Sonar drums and then , played guitars, bass and vocal live. May change bass level depending on feedback, so please let me know if its right or wrong in the mix. Its kind of Greenday crossed with J.C.C. Thought I would link it to the picture of NY city with the lyrics about street people.
