November Composition Competition - Voting Time!
Thank you, very interesting! You are one of those rare people who has natural ability, recognised it, and used it. Funny innit, my Sensei had to give up teaching martial arts a few years ago because he developed a very bad back, now he shifts heavy computer equipment about for a living and still has a bad back.
I taught traditional karate and kick boxing, had a bike smash and ended up as a result doing what i do now, with a damaged spine as a result of smash, i was a bike freak as well, Its kinda like the energy you can use to break things can be used to fix things. Everything is in a state of infinite potential and the choice is ours to choose that potential on some level, this applies to illness as well. I will send you a link to my web page privately and you can check it out you may find it interesting. Anyway deffo going now, night! -
I thought all that spiritual healing was a load of bollocks. I had a problem with my shoulders, the girl i was seeing at the time was into it and took me to see her spiritual healer and she sorted it out. Spooky!
I thought it was all a load of bollocks mate too and its now my life! What i would say is though is its not SPOOKY, its just natural and not understood, its only spooky because we have been programmed by society to think it is. -

There is masses of double blind scientific test results to support it but it gets ignored by mainstream science. I get results, i cant guarantee results but i get a very high sucess rate on many things doctors have said cant be changed. Have also worked with the a doctor of the record and he backs my work to this day. -
Cool I've never come across a Spiritual Healer before, what's involved mate?
Big big answer mate to complicated to get in to on here but heres a simple version, everything is energy at some level and in my view everything has potential for change, a healer (hate the term because healing sometimes helps people die peacefully and isnt always about cures or positive change), is normally a person with a natural ability to connect to levels of energy that the average person doesnt percieve or is aware of that help bring a persons subtle energy into a balanced state and this in turn allows health to return. The problem nowadays is healing or healing ability can be bought on the shelf from the new age supermarket, everyone you meet is a Reiki master nowadays, i think you are born with a natural ability and you will end up using it if you choose to do so, i taught martial arts for 22yrs and was a total skeptic and now heal full time. Not through looking to do it but through where life led me, Life is sometimes very strange -
Not at all. They are, perhaps, people who have humanitarian values. Bit sad you you think that mate tbh
I am taking the p.ss no offence meant, you seem like a really cool guy with some really nice values and i respect that. This is why i hate getting into conversations in text they are always taken out of context. -
Could I suggest that the photo competition should not be neglected in all of this (no, I'm not a participant, merely admirateur of the shots proposed...) To be found here... http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 ...Enjoy...
No!! It isn't! I sent my soundcloud link (NOT the BC link) to a bunch of friends and musicians I play with, told them what I was doing, and not ONE of them has asked how they can vote for me. They just told me what they thought of my music. I think you must have an odd view of people's motivations in general, or maybe my friends are unusually fair minded. You get a lot of BC members posting links to external competitions imploring people to vote for them, BotB, chance to win a support slot, etc. I have listened but only vote for them if I think they are worthy of my vote in favour of the competition.
I work as a spiritual healer in everyday life and do meet some really cool lovely people through my work, but f..k me you and your mates should have wings -
The above is what I mean by you not seeming Facebook savvy. No offence meant at all mate. But it's just not how it works. People generally take from Facebook, they don't give. You have to MAKE them want to give.
I admit im not facebook savvy and no offense taken, i would see the basschat link on a mates page and click it and vote for him, isnt it human nature to do this. I may vote for someone else just to wind him up but i would probably vote I guess i am a bit weird as i click the link to help the penguins with one leg who need a new car to get around. -
I'm forming the impression you are not very Facebook savvy mate. Liking a link does f*** all on Facebook unless it's entertaining, some sh*te cod philosophy, or a petition to stop Mexicans using live kittens as shark bait. Liking a page or a competition or a band on Facebook don't do sh*t You have to have an angle or a personal missive to get people to do something for you, like posting a link and saying "VOTE FOR ME IN THIS BASS COMPETITION!!! I COULD WIN A MONTH'S f***in CUPCAKE SUPPLY !!!!!!!!".
The like button is on this page at the top, not on facebook and if you click it, this then sticks the bass chat competition link on your facebook page, which so far 35 people have done. So its safe to assume that you dont have to announce anything isnt it if its on your page and all your mates know you play bass? Kinda big hint unless your mates are all thick Like i said dont shoot the messenger they may not have any plan for world dominance or anything else in place. I dont have a problem with facebook, twitter or whatever social crap people use, its life it happens. -
Respect all round - I love you all
Love your honesty in your post earlier mate, posts often get taken completely out of context and after all they are just opinions to be considered, dismissed or agreed with, but they are just opinions and thoughts out loud. I find the way i write often gets taken wrong, its the bull in the china shop syndrome with me but its not meant in any way like that. Word to ones self think before speak I agree with a lot of what you are saying, its sad but people seem to be really on the facebook thing but its gonna happen, its part of the site, there are links so people will use them. But its a case of dont shoot the messenger, if people use them and get votes from that it doesnt mean they have an underlying plan or stratergy to rule the world. -
I agree Stephen, but was the idea of promoting it on facebook etc for the site to get more views and perhaps more members as a result? Facebook etc is all well and good if those are the rules but i think in a lot of ways it defeats the purpose of what is supposed to be a composition competition. Is there an official rulebook for this? Its real unfortunate the glitch had to happen in a month that is perhaps more hotly contested because of the lovely prize available.
If its on Facebook and promoted as a basschat comp people have to join to vote, its bound to happen. Its inevitable that this will happen. Anyway gotta get on with life, I have work to do. Cheers and good luck to everyone. Siddx nice one! -
Chill man - language don't offend me, I am up there with the rest. Swearing was around way before the punk period. Just seeing the funny side of it all, that's all. And not aimed at any one in particular. Garry
Sorry mate took the post wrong, thats what happens with flaming posts, sorry i thought i had piss.d you off in some way, -
Yep, i am sure people will still vote the same. - If in his hands he might decide that tunes about [alleged] Pedophiles and fecking and blinding ain't good for business..... Right i am off for a good listen all round. Garry
Evidence suggests otherwise, police have acknowledged this and if someone doesnt like my track they dont vote for it, sorry if language offends you but i come from the punk era and say it how i feel it is, like i said earlier just being honest, this has f..kd me right up as people seem to have got the hump now, opinions where asked for and given, its ok to disagree, we can agree to disagree, not having a go, like i said just being honest.
The only one that looks very different is Elvis's. And that is probably because the original link to his entry was wrong, it linked to his track with no vocal. So all in all, it's looking about right. I was in third place before and now I'm nowhere near, but mine's pretty much an instrumental and clearly vocal tracks seem to be far the most popular this time. The site f***ed up, it couldn't be helped, sh*t like this happens sometimes, it's not ideal, but wtf. You think it's ok for mates to vote, some of us don't. Some think not listening to the whole track is ok, some of us don't. Was the voting truly fair or unfair, who knows? Let's just take it on the chin and be gracious about it. I'm sorry you are now in 3rd place instead of 2nd, but Skol is the one who stands to be the most gutted if this fresh poll is very different and he loses his huge lead and comes second. There was still a long way to go in the voting and NO-ONE knows how it would have ended up anyway.
I dont think its ok for mates to vote i think it will happen when its all over face book, twitter and other sites e.t.c. Its life and nothing can be done about it, please guys like i have said just offering an honest opinion, its not meant in a negative way at all, its just an opinion and i am not saying its right its just mine. -

Fair enough but the earlier post said it would be decided democratically, which it hasnt been. Not having a go, its just it doesnt seem very fair, naff all i can do about it said my piece and will shut up now. Dummy staying out of pram though -

Dummy out of pram Not fair as its different for some already, either revert to origainal votes which is absolutely fair, what is the problem with that? Or let 13 guitars choose which would be fair enough but needs to be done soon either way otherwise if done later it wont look good to anyone. Just being honest, does anyone else have a problem with votes being put back to original votes? I suppose what i am saying is how not giving people their original vote dealing with it in the best way, not being an arse but i dont see how this is best? -
OK i voted. It was super difficult to make a decision but i just went with the one i thought had the vibe most in keeping with the photos that obviously hit my spot.lol I agree if everyone knows how many votes they had it should just carry on from there. I didnt know you could see the votes because im special like that
Gotta agree with that one, dont see any other fair way around it -
Cheers for the kind words, Stephen, but I honestly don't mind. This particular cluster f*** pales in comparison to some of the stuff I've had to deal with over the years (cue montage depicting emotional backstory... ). Yes, it sucks good and proper, and I imagine there are plenty of folks who'll relish a second chance at the win - I know I would - but ce la vie! I've posted about the re-vote on the same channels I did previously, and I guess the laws of maths dictate that if the same number of people do and don't bother voting again then I should still be in with a chance. And if not, heh, I'll just go sit in a corner and cry my bleeding heart out (is this emotional stuff working on anyone yet??). So personally I think leave it as it stands. The votes have already started again and I think it'd do more harm than good to future challenges if we said to people: "Voting is back on... but now it's off again". I was really heartened to see that so many folks had voted, so let's hope that continues.
I didnt see where it was announced back on I thought it was still being discussed? It was said original votes could be added again which is fair enough, but to start again isnt fair in my humble opinion. Especially on you and me, as far as new member votes go this site puts it on there so in my book there cant be any complaints if people join and vote, i understand its not really the done thing, but if thats what happens you cant shoot the messenger surely. -

Stephen Houghton replied to charic's topic in Recording
I dont think thats fair Skol, voting should carry on from where it was everyone knows there number of votes before the crash. Or let 13 guitar decide, i know charic said it may push towards one style or another, but everyone votes that way anyway. The people who voted for you may not read it as they think they have voted already, or may not even look on web and it could screw your chances up. -

This site is going weird at the moment, its just deleted a private conversation when trying to send a message? Just looking at 13 guitar site and its being pushed on there so there is going to be loads of outside votes.
