  1. Is it the Alembic you have for sale located in Bulgaria? It's a beautiful bass, but I'll have to say no I'm afraid. Because of the problems with my left wrist/elbow, I really need to try any bass I might trade for, so not really practical to get to Bulgaria. Sorry! Thanks for the interest though Best of luck selling the Alembic!
  2. For sale is my 2013 Elrick Gold Evolution 6-string. It is a beautiful looking, playing and sounding instrument and anyone who's had any experience with these will surely vouch for that. Also one of the lightest basses I've ever owned - an exceptionally lightweight 6-string. The only reason I'm selling is that, unfortunately, I've had some elbow and wrist problems and the 35" scale and width of neck causes me physical pain Going to go back to 5ers and a 34" scale (amazing how much difference an inch makes!), so this has to be moved on. The bass has been gigged a lot, but it is in very good condition. There are a few little bumps, which I've pictured below - a few little marks around the input jack from cables and the odd ding on the bottom of the body and top of headstock. There are a few marks on the bridge as well form re-stringing etc.. The only modification is the addition of an ebony finger ramp, which matches the radius of the fingerboard (only attached with tape, so easy to remove). I also put a bit of electrical tape around some of the wires in the cavity to stop them moving around - no damage or anything in there and all functioning 100%. These basses are $3500 new (between £2500-2700ish), so I'm asking for £1650! No trades please. The bass comes with an Elrick hard case (not pictured, but can dig out of the garage if desired!) and I'm based in Birmingham if you'd like to come and give it a blast. Can ship in the UK at buyers expense or perhaps meet in neutral territory if required. Feel free to ask if I've missed anything. Thanks for looking! Specs: - 35" scale 6 string bass - 19mm string spacing at bridge - very lightweight swamp ash body with redwood burl top and matching headstock face - maple neck with wenge fingerboard (side dots only) - hand rubbed oil finish - 24 medium frets + zero fret - Bartolini single coils with bart 9v 3-band preamp (with active/passive switch and mid-frequency selection mini switches) - Hipshot hardware - added ebony ramp, matching 16" fingerboard radius

  5. Hi Pietro, Ramp is an all inclusive pickup cover and ramp, so can't be removed. Or rather, can't be removed and played - it can obviously be taken off for maintenance etc.. Cheers. Sam

  15. Lowdown Basses custom 6 string fretless for sale. Lowdown basses are built by Chicago bassist/luthier Tim Seisser, who is a small but fantastic bass builder based in the US. I've owned this bass for over a year and have gigged it a lot, but just don't quite get on with it how I thought I would. Beautifully made, plays great, sounds great, looks great, but my requirements have changed somewhat for several reasons. This bass is based on the 'catacomb' design that Skjold basses use a lot. It has a multi-layer body - top and back are solid, centre piece is solid but thin-ish, largest layers are heavily chambered. This creates a middle ground sound between solid body and hollow. Essentially a heavily chambered body, but done so with a solid central core. More details on the Lowdown site: http://www.lowdownbass.net/custom-series-sold/qqrk2ppsmg8uattu5gsd7r89sd741h There are a few signs of wear - the top of the body near the back (see pics) has a couple of dings in. Purely cosmetic, but they are there. Also a note on the one piece ramp/pickup cover - this originally had a 4 black screws with small heads. These weren't quite up to the job and were pulling on the wood layers of the ramp so I replaced them with larger headed screws and nylon washers on top and underside. This doesn't look as beautiful as it could do, but can easily be altered. This was just my originally fix and I never found reason to change it. Functions absolutely perfectly. Controls are: Vol/pickup blend, passive tone w/ pull to engage passive mode (passive tone is in parallel and can be used in active or passive mode), Mid boost/cut with freq. selector, treble/bass stack cut/boost. Mini toggle switches turn on/off 'turbo' mode on the Nordstrand Fat Stacks. Not 100% what this is, but it makes it a bit louder, fatter and noisier! Nordstrand say 'This will result in a meaner version of the large tone these pickups deliver — albeit with 60 cycle noise that single coils inherently posses. Looking for £1100 ono all things considered, but open to offers. Will provide a Mono gig bag with bass. Based in Birmingham if you would like to come a give it a blast. Can ship fully insured at buyers expense, but would prefer collection. Can arrange meeting half way etc. if necessary. A lovely bass that deserves more use. Also open to trades on a nice P-Bass, Jazz or possibly a Hofner. Open to offers, so do give me a shout. Thanks for looking!
