1. I tried the short scale one at the Gallery. Was a fun bass with a punchy/ Stingrayish tone (P bass at a push). I'm not a big one for short scale though but it sounded good, was very playable and was clearly a well made instrument. Light and well balanced too. Next time I'm in there I'll try the 34 inch scale version if it's still there. Always great to see a new luthier on the block.
2. Ahhh - a set of Thomastiks on an old Ric 4001 is bass heaven. No Clank. Just lovely, blooming, sustainy, bouncy notes. Lovely things, flats...
3. Easily one of the best basses out there (for so many types of music) IMHO. I sold mine in a moment of madness and would love to have it back (shuffles off to weep tears of regret)...
4. Seems to have been hung in the sun so the finish has discoloured. Try before buy to check the neck hasn't gone south....
5. White neck through Yamaha in the NW https://www.gumtree....2004/1269971468
6. Will be interesting to see pics. I think I'm correct in assuming a paddle (aka Spector) headstock indicates the very first streamers? Also, as I've been looking with interest at these basses, lack of a serial seems to be pretty common on these early paddle heads despite the natural/oil finish.
7. Brilliant deal with Gary, smooth and swift and packed perfectly. Recommended! Cheers, Nick

Cheers! All arrived safe and early this morning. Gary's brilliant.
9. Yup, it has that classic J bass 'tack' at the front of the note like no one's business. Very good bass. And light... did I mention light?
10. And here's a Sunday bump for my Celinder... Part ex trades encouraged - decent precisions, 80s and Classic Stingrays, Spector Euro LX basses Cheers, N
11. New part ex trade options up now...
12. Totally epic cab and a great price (I have one)...
13. I'm a sunbeams player (which unfortunately aren't available for such a low price) but when I've needed steels the Hi-Beams are the best I've ever had on a bass.
14. V good deal. Single set for about 17 quid inc postage and cheap enough to avoid the customs charge.
15. All that effort to shift a fake fender for 400 quid. Ptftftftft
16. Yes - smells funny. The mention of a dad who passed away, no gigs, suggestions that it's a closet classic etc he left out the bit about it 'only being used in church' aha ha ha Logo is very suspicious, looks like a cheap parts bass that he's trying to pass as vintage.
17. Here's my Celinder J Classic in Lake Placid Blue with matching headstock in good condition from 2001 on the block for £2150. This is Christian Celinder's version of the perfect 1962 jazz. It's a fabulous instrument that is light (9lbs on my scale) and well balanced. Neck is fantastic and it sounds punchy and warm as befits a 62 style J. Here's a vid with me playing 'The Chicken' straight into logic through a MOTU Traveller, no frills. Thanks Roger and glad it got to you safe. And, of course, you know who to call if you want to sell that incredible bass!
20. And withdrawn. It's fantastic and these basses do not grow on trees!
