  1. I haven't had the best of experiences with 4003s but my '78 4001 is just an incredible bass... Try a few and pick the one that speaks to you...
  2. Blue Nile/ Buchanan thing in the singers voice is good. Very rare type of voice
  3. I have a 75RI and it is a great jazz. Very thin neck and the microtilt (3 bolt) works very well. I have had a few 60s esque jazzes and wanted the 75 as the maple boarded tone is more to my taste. It is my second one and is very light. My previous one was too heavy and had neck dive. They both sound fantastic though with the stock pickups. I would buy second hand and try first on the strap to make sure it's comfy. They are out of production and have been replaced by the 74ri. These have a chunkier neck profile. Great basses!
  4. The Stingray Classic is a FANTASTIC bass.
  5. Hello all, Trade feeler. I love my Willis GWB1 fretless, it is a fantastic bass and arguably the best value for money fretless out there, but I need a four string fretless. I'm particularly interested in an eighties (thinner neck) stingray fretless with the two band pre amp, the lighter the better. Anyone out there with a four string fretless who needs a fiver? It's in good condition throughout, comes with hiscox case and is VERY light with perfect balance like all GWB1s. Specs of the GWB1 are... 34 inch scale Ash body Maple neck Ebony board Bart pream and pickup Ramp Strung with DR sunbeams. Huge tone. Really fantastic bass. Any other high quality fretless four strings will be considered but I'm particularly after an 80s ray. I can chuck a bit of dosh in to even up if your bass costs more than mine Pics later as I'm at work.
  6. I have a 2011 2 band classic with a maple board. It is an exquisite bass. Light, resonant and sounds fantastic. I've been round the block a couple of time with Rays and this is the best one. The neck profile (pre EB) is stunning. An amazing bass!
  7. Thanks for the Badass! Great person to deal with. Cheers, Nick
  8. Good jazz is the nuts and bad jazz is hell on earth. I absolutely f***ing love the good stuff...
  9. I love the gallery. Bought and sold through there and always had a good experience. Alex is a bit quiet but Martin is friendly, a guru to boot and the gear is stellar... The new Wunjo dominated Denmark street is great too. Not where I would shop for a bass or cab/amp though...gallery for that...
  10. Matamp cab withdrawn for recording! Will be back on the market in November or so. Sorry folks
  11. OBT withdrawn for recording duties. Will be available in November! Sorry folks
  12. There is only one I would buy (after going through many, many Js) and that's the American VIntage 75 Reissue. There are some on the board I believe. Skinny neck, very good quality, aggressive tone, very pretty and a maple board. Make sure you buy a light one with no head dive and you're away... An astonishing jazz bass...
  13. Don't sell it! Wack the mix to dry and you have an analog synth in your hands. Hit it with enough force and it tracks very well indeed. These are FANTASTIC pedals...
  14. All the more tempting nowadays as they've gone and chunked up the neck profile on the 74 reissues and these are discontinued. The necks on these are very skinny and this weight is quite rare. Mine is under 9 pounds and is total j heaven. Punchy, burpy, super resonant. Total jazz bliss. Can you tell I like these jazzes?
  15. These basses are totally brilliant and the best value out there...my favourite jazz.
  16. Thought better of this plan!
  17. Beautiful instrument. My favourite type of P. Bermp...
  18. Mint late seventies 1500 max I would say. Beaten to heck about 1100.
