1. I was reminded what a heavy hitting bassist sting was back in the day hearing this. Full on rock bass. Really punchy and tight... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQQVm3AV7LI
2. What is the weight on this lovely bass and is there any neck dive/ headstock tug on the left shoulder when strapped? Thanks Nick
3. I have a later model of this soloist bass called the Halo. They are fantastic basses and this is a great price...
4. Drop mister wilkes himself a line here. These were cool basses... http://www.wilkesguitars.co.uk/index.htm
5. no point in splitting really. If it doesn't go as a job lot I'll finish the bass. N
6. That was a lovely J bass. It had a great heavy tone to it but I found the neck just too chunka for my hand. The Bravewood stuff is in a different league though...he makes beautiful instruments...
7. I would hesitate to say I like all singlecuts. But my Adamovic Halo is absolutely incredible. It feels amazing, sounds great and is astonishingly beautiful... 8. Was just listening to him yesterday and didn't know he had died until I saw this thread just now. A great contributor to pop music who's lines will live on for an extremely long time. Which is a major achievement for any one of us. RIP
9. Anyone want to part ex their Celinder or fender AV75RI? Or a lovely P bass?
10. Tricky to say much about the profile as it's the only bass I know well. It's extremely nice to play? Drop chris kelly a line. He has played more basses than I've had hot dinners and had a long session on it. String stop is 105cm. Cheers
11. Seconded. A man who is a cut above in the vintage bass department. Beautiful bass by the way!
12. If you get feelings of dizziness, esp when you shift your head quick quickly, then it could be labyrinthitis. Very dealable with (my wife had it) and it creates strange auditory effects that can sound like different pitches or even 'chirruppy' squonks (for want of a better word). Cairo
13. Bump for pics and edit.... ...tuners are not in the pic...if anyone wants to see them on the neck just ask...they are good quality reverse tuners. Fender licensed replacements.
14. 4 string. I'll put up some pics when I get home. Wilkes is a great custom maker and this is hand made by him to fit a Fender 62 reissue jaco bass. I used it on my bravewood Jazz before I sold it and it recorded exceptionally well. Very nice but I need a P in the short term. Cheers, Nick More about WIlkes here http://www.wilkesguitars.co.uk/index.htm.
15. A quick note to say Alan was a pleasure to deal with. Enjoy the Martin! Best, Nick
16. I bought a new Halo five string from Nikola. The service was second to none. This is a man with a deep understanding of how to build the perfect bass. My Adamovic Halo is a spectacular instrument and exactly delivers on a very specific set of custom requirements. Here it is by the way http://www.adamovic.nl/1B/Basses/Halo/Ha004%20Burled%20maple.htm A great luthier who is up there with the elite in the business and a very, very cool guy. A review is forthcoming with video clips btw Thanks Nikola! Best, NIck
17. Bump for part ex Trade possibility for Yamaha SLB200
18. Cheers Chris, I've had some enquiries about whether this is available as a cash sale and indeed it is. The price is firm though and it must be a local sale. Cheers, Nick
19. Corgan has some interesting things to say about the current state of the music industry. I like him, even though he is clearly a massive *********** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCYCCMrFnS0
