1. There's a deadline for all you surf green p bass fans
2. Cool bass and good luck with the sale . Hopefully will be in touch if my P shifts in time. Best, N
3. Have a look at my luverly bass...it's bonzer...and fantastically good value at a new reduced price
4. Had a play on a couple. Meek acoustic sound (for obvious reasons) and less than stellar plugged in. Plugged in, I would just use a great electric bass.
5. Thanks for the suggestion. I think the issue with all of them is going to be volume. I play double bass but the thing is an acoustic only in a small space (radio station) so I thought it might a solution but looks like it won't work. I'll just play acoustic guitar and sing I think...
6. Hi folks Have to do an acoustic session imminently. Can anyone recommend a good sub 250 quid acoustic bass guitar that I could pick up on denmark street? I know NOTHING about these things! Cheers, Nick (Sorry, originally posted this in the wrong forum, my apologies)
7. Sorry, wrong forum! Please delete the post!
8. I think of it as a 'Pimp Miami Telebass'...It's very cool but I need the jazz sound right now....
9. It's a great bass indeed, but my need for a precision has waned and I now need a J! Cheers, N
10. Didn't Variax use euphemisms to avoid legal action? I hate DSP bass/amp and effect cloning. It sounds awful in my opinion. There's an aural 'glisten' to the sound that is analogous to the visual shine you still get on cgi/vfx to my ears.
11. I think I have the sibling of this bass. What's te weight and the neck profile? Any neck dive or fret wear? Thanks Nick
12. £450 Excellent precision bass but I need a jazz or a second Ric. Run ideas past me for a part-ex. I'm especially keen on American Vintage Jazzes and Rick 4001/4003s. Narrow necks, light weight and Jetglo much appreciated! This bass is extremely high quality and exceeds the American standard series in quality IMO. Warmoth bass spec - 9lbs and very well balanced - surf green ash body - tusq nut - wizard trad pup - badass II - maple/maple neck. It's an 'A' i.e. 1.5 inches wide. Very comfy chunky jazz profile. Sounds very good. - tele headstock with no decal - white tele bass p/guard - schaller tuners - straplocks - cts pots It's a well balanced, great sounding bass with classic thump and growl. Weighs 9lbs. Very good cond with a couple of small dings. You can check it out on youtube here... 13. Thank goodness for that!
14. These are awesome guitars. I own a gold top standard too...
15. I was reminded what a heavy hitting bassist sting was back in the day hearing this. Full on rock bass. Really punchy and tight... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQQVm3AV7LI
16. What is the weight on this lovely bass and is there any neck dive/ headstock tug on the left shoulder when strapped? Thanks Nick
17. I have a later model of this soloist bass called the Halo. They are fantastic basses and this is a great price...
18. Drop mister wilkes himself a line here. These were cool basses... http://www.wilkesguitars.co.uk/index.htm
19. no point in splitting really. If it doesn't go as a job lot I'll finish the bass. N
20. That was a lovely J bass. It had a great heavy tone to it but I found the neck just too chunka for my hand. The Bravewood stuff is in a different league though...he makes beautiful instruments...
21. I would hesitate to say I like all singlecuts. But my Adamovic Halo is absolutely incredible. It feels amazing, sounds great and is astonishingly beautiful...
