Berg 2 x HDN210s to replace 2x Markbass NY122 Ninja stack: Should I do it?
M@23 replied to malpasso's topic in Amps and Cabs
I just sold my Ninja 122 and Ninja amp, it was a great cab. I just don't it and wanted to downsize. I preferred it to 212s I've had that cost much more £. For the size, form and weight it produces a ton of output and was always a great sounding cab. I never pushed it, because with the Ninja amp it had some serious volume to hand. It only served as my stage monitor, but I always found that it offered a really nice clear sound onstage. Was disappointed to move it on, as tonally it was spot on for me. Also, the whole 600w rig weighed about 20kg. -
That's unusual, AFAIK, from the 43x series up they are supposed to come with D'Addario 170's. My BBP35 came with EXL170-5.

Blimey, that's an order! Haha. Looks great!! I have a BBP35 in the other colour. Can't fault it, it's a really, really good bass. There doesn't seem to be many about. Mine was the 1st in the country, direct from Yamaha and I haven't seen many since. Are you going to tune/string them differently?

I've had both recently, the Peavey was better. The Ashdown compressor and octave thing were rubbish. The Peavey was in great nick for its age, got the impression that it would outlive me.

He's already got The Sexiest Bass Ever™️ in the BBNE2. It's cool to see something different.

Damn... That group shot! What a collection. They're all incredible, but that pink F looks funky.

Think the 'cheapest' version is to be flat matte black, he confirmed. The relic was to be an option on the more expensive model.

There's a nice BB5000a on Facebook. I've just spent out on a new amp... Otherwise I'd be all over it. Going to get another new shape BB to backup the P35. But, the 5000 is tempting, especially in white.

Ah man. If it is a matter of opinion, sure. Like, if someone says they "don't like the sound, IMO, YMMV, etc, etc...", I agree. But, peeling tolex or handles or feet or whatever, not really up for debate, is it? As well as they may be built, with all the bracing and scientific stuff, those basics have to be right or you've surely failed? Dunno about you, but I'd be livid if I was then told repeatedly "not now, we're too busy".

Haha, we also do the "idiot check"!

How many thousands of songs has it been used on?! Let alone it IS drum and bass. Very cool little groove.

That new Nathan East model isn't traditionally pretty, is it? Has the flag bass ever been available for purchase? Fair play to the man himself and Yamaha for doing something new and different.

*SOLD* Markbass Little Mark Ninja 1000w amp £450

It is certainly an option that I've considered for a while! Drummer does because we run tracks which he queues and is all done to a click. Now I am going ampless seems a good time to commit.

My amp is up for sale, cab has gone, most of my pedals have gone. Have done the last month with just the amp as a preamp and my wedge. The drummer uses a TD50 and guitarist is ampless. Once my amp sells i'll see where to go next for a pre and will upgrade the wedge. We've always had a low stage sound, I loved my rig, but lugging a 2x12 & 1kw amp for monitoring over and electric kit an a couple of little FBT 8" monitors is ridiculous!

Price is £450 for the amp, price at top was for both amp and cab. Cab has now gone to a new home, just the amp left! Reason for sale: it's just not needed. As much as I haven't wanted to admit it, we invested in a big RCF PA setup not long after I bought it all, and it had just been used as a monitor. The matching cab has now sold, so this will be used as a preamp only now. It seems silly to run a 1kw amp as a pre. It sounds glorious, the amp is so powerful, it's basically a LM3 with tons more headroom! The amp has always lived in a neoprene laptop bag, inside a hard case. It is genuinely AS NEW and has had an easy first year of life. I'm located on the Isle of Wight. Can look into postage, collection available from Southampton or Portsmouth.

Sorry, not an answer to your Q... But how do you like the Shure? I've had bad luck with a Line 6 G50 with dropouts and the reviews are awful for the G70. The Shure looks very smart.

This was one of the reasons our drummer has started using a TD50! We don't do pubs, but if we need to go louder we just turn the PA up and the mix remains.
