Wow. Wouldn't retailer 1 have to send it back to Musicman?
-
I think I read once that there is a copy in the vault! I've covered it before, sure I just played roots with the kick!
-
I do miss that amp. But, it took more work to get it to do what I wanted, compared to the Markbass stuff. Markbass just works for me. It's not as beautiful or solid as the Glock, but I plug in and it sounds good whoever the room or band setup.
-
It works for me Kev. Haven't used a pedal tuner for a few years. My bass's tuning is pretty solid, so it's never far out. But I've not had a single problem. Sometimes the low B is easier to do by the harmonic.
-
Is it? You've seen the topics about Bass Direct? Or read their reviews on Facebook?
-
The problem is, people get so upset over this sort of thing. Without much context, or the other side of the story. Not suggesting for a second the poster here isn't telling the full story, just that, if you make a thread to record every interaction a person got their feelings hurt, then there's not going to be many places left to shop. Why not just make your own mind up without any preconceived notions? For what it's worth, I love Guitar Village and had great service there.
-
I saw this on FB too! Looks ace. Must've been one of the last of the old shape? New spec tuners on the old shape body is a good find!
-
Facebook? Must be loads of musician pages for Merseyside.

Do you have a 735a? I got chance to give one a good go yesterday. I liked it quite a bit! Hmmm... Might have to give this a bit more thought!
-
I think that's it. I'd be surprised if there is any difference in build quality, Roger simply wouldn't allow it to be sold under his name. The frets will be perfect 99% of the time. It will sound exactly the same. I think you're right, it's the romanticism of being hand build by a small team, headed by a guitar who relocated for a year to study Roger's work in preparation.

True. Specs and dimensions are similar. The BBP35 did have something special... Whether that's the MIJ goodness, who knows? Maybe the 7 series would feel just as good. It's usually the case that twice the money doesn't equal twice the bass! Hey, I'm selling a Sadowsky because I end up gigging a Sire 3 times a week! Anyone got a 735a?
-
I didn't unfortunately, but I believe they are very similar? Plus, the matte black looks the bees knees!
-
Yep, I think so. My Sadowsky goes to it's new home this Saturday. Which leaves me with only a Sire V7 5er. The Sire is wonderful, and covers my J5 needs. The BBP35 was nicer than I expected and offered far more. I found it really comfortable to play. I'm always on the look out for nice Sandbergs 5s as I regret moving my old one on, but the Yamaha definitely had something about it. Great prices too, given what the 2025 cost.
-
😍 Wow. That looks great! I got to play a BBP35 a few days ago, reeeaaally liked it.
-
Same. Not used a pedal tuner since I got my Polytune clip 2 years ago.
-
The "your love keeps lifting me, love keeps lifting me, lifting me higher and higher" part?? Yeah, neither can I!
-
Tricky song to start on! The bass is dead easy, but constant in the verses and there are lots of words! Good luck! Maybe try some exercises like singing scales or a few songs where you can chug root notes.

Our drummer uses an electric kit for a decent percentage of our gigs. Most of the time we all use in ears. We have a quality PA and I don't think anyone has ever argued drums sounded weird. But we have had several compliments about the mix and overall volume, which in smaller venues can be an issue. No matter how good a drummer is with technique and groove, if they're too loud, it's a bad gig. For me, anyway, as a player or punter.
-
Yep! I messaged them yesterday and got a reply this morning! I'd never paid much attention to the black ones, but it doesn't half shine in those high res photos! Very nice buy! I've got a few bits to shift first really, so it's for the best for me too to be honest! Look forward to hearing your thoughts on her when she arrives though!

Congrats... Though, you can't have beaten me to it by much!! I got a message back saying it had sold and immediately thought it would have been you! Haha.

CAB recommendations to go with MarkBass Little Mark Tube
M@23 replied to BenGoldingBass's topic in Amps and Cabs
Not for me because I always send pre EQ. I don't have the issues with 'high end roll off' that others do. I even use a touch of VLE. The Ninja rig is just my stage monitor for most gigs. As we always put everything FOH. It does a better job of that than any rig I've had previously. When it is a standalone, I really like the sound of it though. I never want for more highs. -
I did see your write up! I only briefly played one, it was great. Unfortunately, I'd have to move my Sadowsky on if it were to happen, so could do with spending some serious time with one first. I'd love the grey, but I think that was a very limited run?

I'm tempted to make enquiries about a BBNE2...

For function work, I think it's hard to beat the Markbass Ninja 122. It just does it all, in a cab with a small footprint, that weighs 18kg. They're 8 ohm, so you could run two, if needed. Defo check one out if you're able to. -
I've got a dead string that just came on a new Sire bass. Believe they're EXL170-5 - same as your set... Have to say, I'm really liking the sound and feel of the rest of the set! Normally the strings I use are a pain to get hold of, so, dud aside, I'm well happy that these are working for me.
