1. I've got the 212MNT, which is 600 watt, so maybe same drivers at the 112EXT? I've used with a 900 watt amp, and now a 700 watt amp and it's always taken whatever I've thrown at it, not that it's ever really pushed as I've never had the need. It's a big sounding cab!
2.
Seems mad to try to force someone to struggle with and mess up a song, rather than pitch it where it is most comfortable for them.
That's the funny thing about guitarists! So many spend time learning how to tear through a minor pentatonic, but can't work with a capo and panic over changing keys.
3.
Being in several bands, I've had those moments too - where you start playing a song with one band, and realise you're playing it in a key you play with a different band! Also started the wrong song once or twice too We've all done it mate - you are not alone, so don't worry lol
Ha, I have this! It's often only half a step either way too.
4. There's a configurator now, is there? Uh oh...
5. I'm updating this for future reference, in case anyone is doing their homework .. The Gator case is awful. It's the flimsiest excuse for a hardcase I've ever seen. It's actually kind of funny that they put a TSA lock on there!
6. I've just ordered the Gator GPE, not expecting it to be as solid as the Hiscox, but will hopefully do a job.
7. Nice one! Great looking bass, cool colour.
8. I'm just about to quit a wedding/function band, because: 1) The guitarist.I HATE the way the guitarist plays. His attitude is terrible too. I can go into details on his playing - but in an effort to keep this post shortish, I won't! 2) we don't often practice as everyone knows the set and gig often. But, if we do practice, for a wedding or whatever, it's slack. The singer is staring at their phone whilst half arseing the vocals. 3) despite being the newest member, I do ALL the leg work, emails, calls and bookings. Over the last few months I've booked nothing as I've become disillusioned with it. My band mates actually moaned we didn't have any bookings, but none of them did anything about it! 4) The PA we use is terrible, but no one is willing to chip in for upgrades. And finally, 5) I've had an offer from another band. I suppose in summary, I want to be part of a professional outfit that sound and look good. Decent PA, lights, repertoire and great musicians. I worked hard to make my current band the premier functions outfit in our area; the rest of the band wanted it too, but don't want to work for it. Shame, as we've done some great gigs. But, an new opportunity has presented itself and I'll be about 75% less legwork for more of a reward... oh, and the guitarist knows knows how to play a diminished chord...

Withdrawn

How is this still here?! So much want, so little cash 😣
10.
How long are these?
I can measure them if you like. But, if it's for a 35" I'd say they wouldn't fit. They are 'standard' length. Sadowsky also do XL for 35"+. I can measure them in the morning.
11. Brand new, unopened. Bought a spare set when I got the bass, but have since discovered nickels. There are zingy, bright and last ages. The B string is tapered. Price includes UK postage.
12. I don't have one, but before all the Hiscox recommendations come in (and rightly so) try find one to try for size before buying. They're a fraction too short for two different 5 string jazzes I've tried. I like the Gator GPE TSA too.
13. Small, 40-46". About 6 months old. Very good condition.
14. £32 Posted! These have seen about 6 hours of rehearsal on my Sadowsky; which is a 34" scale, with a top loading bridge. The strings are not really even broken in yet. Simply, I'm in two bands, one plays country, one weddings/functions. I only own one bass and whilst these sound great for one band, they just don't work for the other. Shame, as they really sound HUGE. Just, not cutting enough for 80s tunes and slap stuff, so I've gone back to rounds. If funds allowed I'd pick up a P bass for these... if they don't sell I'll keep them with that in mind. The set comes with an extra, unused, A string. Gauges are .45 .65 .85 (plus spare) .105 .128 - tapered B. Cheers. Price includes jiffy bag and UK postage.
15. Great amps. Simple but effective!
16. I had to check the website out. I'm guessing English isn't his first language; but still... It reads terribly, shame your feedback wasn't well recieved. Might email to advise "comfortability" isn't a word.
17. It could well be the string. I've recently had the same thing with La Bella DTF. It's where the windings aren't 100% tight. For me, I need a new A string, which they supplied. The rest still buzzed a touch but have become better with Fast Fret and being played. Apparently this is fairly common on double basses.
18. Yep. For nearly two years I've just had one bass. I'm starting to look at getting a second for another band that needs a different vibe. But, i much prefer not having a spare room full to the brim of cases. Also, thinking more about the way you play rarher than just reaching for another bass has been a good lesson.
19. I think it depends how you learn too. If you have good ears and know a bit of chord theory then working the basics out only takes a few minutes, for straight forward pop tunes anyway. Another reason the numbers system is so useful, is that many people can play parts brilliantly in the original key; but only in that key!
20. I don't have either anymore, but did have a Fueltank Jr velcro'd to the bottom of a Nano+, without modification.
21. Joe Osborn was a Jazz/La Bella guy, I think. I'm thinking of putting flats on an active 5 string jazz. Keen to give the Dunlops a go.
22.
Neotech Mega Strap. Got fed up of the Mono slipping down all the time.
This. I bought the MONO for a change, and it is comfy... but, it slips in no time at all. I'm going back to Neotech.
