  1. Went to Kings in Southsea a couple weeks ago. Think it was the 5th time I’ve seen them and every time I’m blown away. True masterclass.
  2. Thanks Ian. Hope you’re well.
  3. Sold elsewhere, please delete.
  4. Ok, perhaps a slight change of plan. I’m going to keep this up and welcome trades. I could do with an amp, so welcome part trades for cheaper 5 strings, Sire, other Yamaha BB, try me… Also, a good combo, a Markbass 121h would be great.
  5. Just a heads up, I may keep this. Will give it until Sunday for any further offers. But… it’s great and I’ll only want it back in a few months! Please PM if interested, otherwise I’ll withdraw it over the weekend.
  6. Only owned for a couple of months, bought from Bass Bros. Has a new set of Daddario EXL-170 on. Bass Bros sold it as “immaculate”. It isn’t. It’s in very good condition, but there is some swirling to the finish, though it is nothing that could be picked up in a photo. The neck and headstock are immaculate, however with no chips or dents. Reason for sale is, I’m calling it a day on gigging… again. Circumstances mean I just don’t have the time for a regular gig. I’ll still dep here and there, but don’t want the BB sat about unnecessarily. This is the 2nd I’ve owned. Truthfully, they’re my favourite workhorse basses. They fit me and sound great for all styles. My first was only sold because it was too heavy at 10.5+lbs. This one is 9.5lbs and balances superbly. I’ll upload more pics over the weekend, below are the ones from Bass Bros. Located on the Isle of Wight, could do a Southsea meet up. Otherwise, collection and postage can be arranged. The Yamaha case is luxurious, but with that comes added weight, so postage could be costly. Any q’s please shout. Not looking for trades at this point. Cheers!
  7. I’d say Sandberg TT5 SL too. Mine was great. It was 6lb12oz and balanced and played superbly. Was sold again on here about a year ago I think! It was an absolute breeze to wear.
  8. I nearly wrote similar earlier. That’s kinda what I meant by not my cup of tea. It’s very cool, but £1300 is too much for one that doesn’t really fit the profile. My BB P35 was a decent wedge cheaper and it’s safe and I know it works. It is cool though, love the neck thru and colour.
  9. Interesting! Thanks for the info. 😊 yeah, odd one. Agreed, it’s all very tightly packed in the bridge-truss rod gap. I’m not that adventurous, a plain old BB fits me like a glove, but it’s an interesting article.
  10. Oh, it’s not my cup of tea, so forgive me for it flying under the radar. Great colour, and can’t be too many about though. It’s on their IG story and if they’ve had it months there might be a deal there for somebody.
  11. Just seen this, with regard to the non PJ BB discussion a few pages back… https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1985-yamaha-bb1300-mij/
  12. Hi Don, Im on the Isle of Wight, so collection wise I could do Southampton or Portsmouth. Otherwise, I’m happy to package it up for shipping. Cheers
  13. Damn it… thanks all… perhaps it worth the initial outlay then.
  14. Looking for what people are using in 2023. My last unit was the Line 6 G75. Which was great and didn’t give me any problems. Looks like they’ve been ditched by L6. The rest of the range seems high prices for old tech. Don’t really want to stretch to the Shure units, even though I know they’re great. So potentially looking at the Boss WI50, as the 60 isn’t available. Pros look to be, pedal seized receiver that is solid and compact, good battery life, low latency. is there anything else worth considering for under £250? My bass is a passive Yamaha BB Thanks for any thoughts/feedback.
  15. Yep, feels silly, but sit down. I did 6 weeks of gigging in a cast about 7 years ago. Wasn’t all bad, I was excused from load in/out! One of the gigs was a NYE party and that was a bit frustrating, but needs must.
  16. *trades and part ex considered for Helix Stomp, wireless system, PA speaker, 5 strings… try me!* Hi, Up for sale is this fantastic light weight, heavy sounding setup! I’ve owned this since new, and have gigged it z e r o times! It’s great, I’ve used it for 3 rehearsals and about the house. It’s tight, focused, versatile and loud. In fact, I was saying to a BC buddy yesterday, it sounds better and produces a low B better than rigs that have cost me 3 times as much. Just, I’m a Helix guy. I wanted this as an option, and as great as it is, it’s just not going to be used. It is in my kids room/my office and I need the space back. Condition is as new. Cab has a Roqsolid cover and amp has the official Ashdown case. Can also include a nice heavy gauge speakon cable. Thanks.
  17. That’s incredible if accurate! Wonder why they’re so limited. The one I nearly snapped up was a white 2024x. Mark at BD told me it went as soon as it was live on the website. I missed it by about 10 mins.
  18. There was a run of 2024/5 with maple fretboards. No ideas on the ratio produced, but I’ve only ever seen one come up for sale and by the time I’d called the shop to buy it, it had sold.
  19. Radial Stage Bug for me, would recommend!
  20. Act Like You Know is such a cool bass line. Good song choices, both great parts! Bass sounds nice.
  21. As an update to my earlier post about acquiring a 735a… it seemed to develop an issue with the preamp and was very noisy, and has therefore been returned. In the meantime, a BB P35 came up for £200 or so more than the 735a cost, so that’s now mine. back to back, they’re very different beasts. The 735a was great to play and the preamp offered quite a lot of options, all usable. But, the P35 is a different thing. In short, it just feels different, like a good example of a vintage Fender that has been played, no frills, but something special. Hard to describe, but it’s just there. The 735a to me was an entirely different flavour. They share some hardware, but aesthetics aside, weren’t similar to me at all. Both great in different ways, but the P35 has a bit of magic about it.
  22. I love both for what they bring. The P35 is wonderful for me, simplistic but near perfect playability. Maybe not as much character and slightly more “modern” sounding (?). I can see how you might yearn for something else if you’re coming from a 2025. Great time to own a nice 2025, they’re seemingly pretty hard to come by now. I sold my P35, needs must at the time but purchasing a 735a has reminded me that it really worked for me and I’ll likely have another at some point.
  23. Mine would probably be my Yamaha P35. Easily replaceable if you have the money though. The instrument I miss most sentimentally is a PRS CU24. More than wanting them back, I’m more curious to know where old instruments are now. I know one is in France and another the USA!
