1. Depends on the new and second hand value of that item I suppose. If you're paying a good percentage of its value for a repair, you may be able to sell it for parts or as is and put that money on top of the would be repair cost for another one. That probably wouldn't apply to high end stuff though or things where there's a healthy second hand market.
2. Hercules is a safe bet i think. I've never had any issues and they state they are safe for 'most' nitro finishes. Apparently there are hundreds of different variations of nitro.
3. No experience of them. But, it is a Yamaha and Miki Santamaria on YouTube seems to like them, they look great too. I'd like to try one.
4. If anything, would the annual changing of amps not reinforce those findings?
5. I know a couple of guys that use them and have fantastic sounds. I had one and wasn't so successful with it. I really liked it at lower volume but didn't like it when pushed and found the same things as you are. I've got a new amp incoming, which is still class D power with class A pre, still lightweight at 5kg, so will be interested to see how it stacks up.
6. For a 6x10... just get the 4 Pro you want! Then there'll be no wondering what if or settling for second best. If you're moving a big cab you might as well have the amp to go with it.
7. I don't really know Ampeg and I'm sure you've considered it... But, 7 Pro? Is that a smaller lighter version?
8. On the colour, I had a shell pink P bass a few years ago. I had more interest and positive comments from punters on that bass that every other bass I've owned combined! People love a pink bass!
9.
In all seriousness it probably takes about 1 minute to find out if:

they can keep time
play at the right tempo
don't do stupid fills
have good "feel"
If they tick all the above then you should be fine.
I'd agree with that. The stupid, out of place, out of time fills are what annoys me most. One of the drummers I work with regularly now isn't flash at all, but is so solid with a great groove. He has a musical brain and ear to contribute to the song. I choose him for gigs over others that are probably technically more profiecient but aren't as switched on to the band.
10. Never played one, but it is unique! Love the colours too.
11. Congratulations on the bass and baby! That Lull is a great colour.
12. In 2002, probably The Police, my dad is a big fan and we always had great music playing at home. Thinking about it though, not a lot has changed. Of my absolute favourites, I reckon about 5 or 6 or my top ten are the same now as they were then.
13.
None of the usual suspects here: That's a DIY 650 watt head on an Audiokinesis Thunderchild TC112AF cab. These days I am mostly playing big band jazz shows on my BSX electric upright, or occasionally on my Crescent Moon fretless:
Very cool. How did you build the amp? Is it your own design?
14. Nice, I wanted a Sterling once and ended up with a Stingray 4 as it was a great price. It was probably one of the nicest, easy to play basses I've owned. I only sold it as it presented a chance to sell for a profit but I'd love a 5 string at some point.
15. Yeah they're great. Probably the best value for money basses out there. The five I had produced a really solid low B too.
16.
The Overwater J's sound very, very good but they all seem to be on the heavy side (around 10lbs to 12lbs on their website) so, sadly, I'll never own one.
It's a shame, but that's what ruled them out for me too.
17. Martin bought my amp in what was another easy BC transaction from a great BC'er. Paid straight away and great comms throughout. Thans again. Deal with confidence here 😊
18. Fair play! It was the lowered boot that made getting stuff in and out of my 09 KA a PITA
19. Just had a look at the Facebook page. They are beautiful instruments. Nice to see another builder that is truly passionate about building the best without compromise. It'd be nice if magnetic cavity cover were more common too! A cheaper line would be very cool if they could compete with the 2-2.5k market it would be interesting.
20. 3x10s don't sit well with me, from an OCD perspective. Unless I had two of them of course...
21. Celinder, AC, Stenbeck and the like are probably all out of reach and not too common second hand. Lull, Sadowsky and Xotic are all where I would look.
