Wayyyy too much money
They look really nice. But, I agree. Not where my money would go.
I unplug any bass on stage between sets, saves big hoofed drummers hooking the cable and dragging basses off their stands!
Yep, same here.
I don't understand the people saying an Ampeg fridge is hard to transport. Negotiating stairs with one yes, but on the flat theyre easy to wheel along and mine fits in a Ford Ka along with two amp heads, a flight cased pedal board and two bass guitars.
How?! That's amazing. I had a 2009 KA and with the back seats down could just about get my 2x12, flight case and bag of leads in! Plus it had an annoying boot that was sunken so everything had to be passed over the lip to get it in. I'm 6"4 so had to have my seat back though.

I had the same experience recently, Ampeg 810 and SVT-CL amp. It was wonderful. I know I'd never get my money's worth though. Maybe a quarter of my gigs would permit it, and it'd be horrendous getting it there and home. If you can make the logistics side of things work, then it'd be great fun. However, for me a 4x10 or 2x12 and 25kg max weight are as big as my rig is going to be. May be worth looking for a 6x10 as a compromise?

Slightly smaller than GB Neox 212t - what to buy?

Pandas have boots now?! Ours is a 2006 and my 2x12 takes up the whole back seat. Are you looking to stay with a 2x12? -
Seriously..? Halfway house, really; I don't see the notion of having this special, optimised posture standing if one is, at the same time, moving about, interacting with the audience and generally 'rocking out'. Nothing wrong with any of that, of course, but I can't see the bass staying riveted in its 'home' place in doing that, unless it really is riveted in place. If one is moving about, the bass is swinging around at least a bit, isn't it..? Or does everyone loon about with a rigid instrument..? My point would be: either it's necessary to have a good, mastered posture (in which cas I'd say sit, and hang 'em all...) or it's not that important in rock, so rehearse and play as seems comfy or appropriate for the genre and leave the perfect stance out of it. I sit, as a drummer, but if I wanted (or felt like...) playing standing (or even lying down...), I'd have no qualms with it. One plays as one plays, unless this stereotyping is really what it's all about, in which case what's the deal with the technical perfection..? Serious, me..? Pshaw.!
Bit of a digression... But, I'd say that good posture is obviously important; for health reasons more so technique. Also, I could 'loon about' and my bass would stay in place as I have my strap set to sit the bass on my stomach; as it would if I was sitting. I certainly couldn't play with it around my knees, punk stylee. But, as the OP seems to want to play standing up, I'd advise just practicing it. Like anything, it was only a first gig and like woth anything related to learning an instrument; it improves with practice. When I started on guitar I remember going through this exact scenario.
Can you not sit down at the gig..? A folding chair or drum throne..? If not, why not..? Just sayin'.
Not sure if serious...? Unless it's a jazz, acoustic or mellow gig; or some sort of medical reason stops it then it just looks wrong to have people sitting on stage. I felt guilty sitting there when I broke my leg, when it was first plastered I had to keep my foot up or it was painful and I felt bad for the audience. I like to dance and interact and show that I'm having fun as well. That probably makes me sound a snob, but it's not entertaining to watch unless people are moving and showing a bit of emotion. With regards to the OP, Scott Divine did a lesson about strap length which is worth a watch. Otherwise, it's just a case of practice and getting a feel for it.

Sounds great. That bass has such a nice grain I'd be inclined to leave the pickguard off!
-
If 'wooly' is what you're trying to get away from, Tecamp (and therefore, probably Eich) are worth trying.
-
Is this a trick question?
-
On bass, I like 21. On guitar, 24. Anything more than 24 makes me twitch.

Nice pair. These do look great. Will have to try properly check one out at some point.
When mixing a band I often use a DI inserted before any pedals to send a completely clean sound to the desk in combination with a mic on the cab. This means I can process and blend the two signals to get a big fat bottom end from the DI and all the grind, dirt and clank of the mids and high end from the mic. Works a treat.
Tired and tested. Same thing we do in the studio.
dancing girls, booze, illegal substances and one night out you'll never remember
Fair enough. I thought it was meant as 'more' from a bass. But yeah, 3.5k would get you a lot more elsewhere!
Fantastic but 3500 pounds will mean somerhing more for me...
Out of curiosity, more of what?

Oh dear. Good luck. So glad I bought the cover for my newest cab. Not for load ins and outs through crowds of punters, up and down narrow staircases, or slinging in the van at 2am... No, to protect it from my two little wolverines.

Who on Basschat has the most expensive bass?
Seeing as becoming a bass player/musician ruined my life as i should have done Sciences at Uni instead of music and gotten a proper jobs. I'd say my first bass, an Encore P Bass copy, is the most expensive!
Yep, same! Should have done medicine... Who am I kidding, they wouldn't have taken me. -
Well if you've bought it at any time in the last eight years it could be the same one....
I lol'd. Quality thread resurrection. I wasn't about for the first round so have enjoyed reading through it all actually. -

Can I replace my 410 with a 210 and get the sound I want?
M@23 replied to Iheartreverb's topic in Amps and Cabs
I know volume isn't a problem, but Twins are outrageously loud and cutting. Probably better to over spec than under, just in case. I've never tried a BF 2 or 4x10, but they do seem an obvious choice from what you've written. Would 2x210 be an option with your amp? -
I am disappointed that you used the word 'someone' instead of 'NE-1' in the thread title. A missed opportunity.
I'm disappointed that, although clever, it was just a play on words in the title. I thought the OP was bringing back 90s text speak. Gd 1 m8.
I'd say you'd pick up an OC-2 for sub £80?! Certainly the Taiwan models Si
That's what I was gonna say. Mine was £65 posted, from France! Bought here on BC about 2 weeks ago.

That blue suits them so well. Lovely!
And Vanderkley too, great minds!
They make a good couple, don't they?! The Vanderkley have such a clear deep voice which seems to pair so well with the Puma. I feel like I've struck gold with them.
