1. Name aside, these look pretty cool.
2. Looks great. I should get my covers Tuesday :-) what are they like? They look like the Berg ones from the pics.
3. That's rough.
4. Tricky one and a rubbish position to be in. £63 seems a random amount? How did he calculate that? I guess you have no proof of ownership to any of it? Are there any receipts?
5. Cool. I love my pink precision. And that's not a euphemism!!
6. Always like the look of these. Nice one.
7.
Just seems a strange place for such anger is all. EB don't have a custom shop, they don't build a bass with the specific set of specs the OP wanted, and the poor guy who read the return email from the OP had to take flak for not doing something that they don't advertise they do. I emailed Lakland once politely asking if they were considering a Skyline version of the Decade Shortscale. When they replied 30mins later saying they weren't, I didn't reply with my 'disgust'. They don't advertise it, why be angry that they won't accommodate it Si
I'm with you. EB 's email back was informative and polite. They don't offer the service you're after. No need for petulance, you asked, they politely said no.
8. Church hall gig for private function. High ceilings, hollow wooden stage and zero soft furnishings and needing to daisy chain 3 extension leads as the only power supply is 20 metres from the stage... Weddings aside, I'll take a pub gig over a private function any day.
9. Nice one. Bargain!!
10. Without going into details, my experiences of them are bad too. There are far better guitar shops in the south, as far as I'm concerned.
11. I have and would again leave bands for dodgy drummers. Its ok at open jam sessions, where you can try things out and have a laugh but takes the fun out of gigging knowing there could be a monumental drumming cock up around the corner. I was in a band where the singer was on edge and not confident because the drummer either momentarily forgot how to play drums completely, or would lose time, speed up, slow down, add a stupid fill and it was a bit embarrassing to be honest. Having to stop mid song because the drummer has lost time and cant get back on the beat is not a nice experience!
12.
I wouldn't have picked that combo but it looks great...
Thanks mate. I spent lots of time agonising over which style to go for! I wanted tweed, but thought it wouldn't look quite right with the Markbass yellow. Pictures still don't do them justice though!
13. Beats going out to buy a new bass and coming back with coffee!
14. I've posted these before, will have to get some more taken!
15.
Here's mine...
Looks really cool.
16. Also, our setups are very similar! I'll have to get a pic taken. Precisions + LM3 + S112 = :-D
17. I can't wait to get my covers and new cables from Tommy. I've actually been wrapping the cabs in a duvet cover to keep them from harm on the way to/from gigs!!
18. Good effort in sanding this down. Lovely blank canvas for someone seeking a quality little project. I'd be all over this if I had the cash.
19. Aren't the FSR models usually a little cheaper? No ideas why, mind. That vintage white one is lovely too!!
20.
Rather fetching for sure!! I think a matching amp facia would be cool too. Maybe invert the colours of the script and background then make the black red instead.
Hells yeah! That's a very classy looking rig.
21. Saw that picture somewhere on Facebook yesterday - it looks fantastic doesn't it.
22. Nice one. Looks great. They pair up well with the Little Mark amp too, huh?
23.
Then the conclusion must be that they don't care about their audience.
Not sure if you're being sarcastic?
24.
Yes. Why isn't it important to them? As outlined in most of the posts it's fairly important to the audience.
What level are we talking - does it really have any impact on anyone what your local pub band wears? I couldn't care less, really, and I'm into fashion and take great care in my own appearance. For functions and weddings and maybe originals bands appearance certainly does matter, but down your local, where everyone else is dressed casually, I can't see why anyone would have a problem with jeans or whatever. For the band where each member works 40+ hours a week in an office and does the odd gig with a group of mates, who cares what they look like. They're musicians doing what they love for the evening. Asking why someone wouldn't care is fairly odd, too. I'm sure we all do things others wouldn't, the way we talk or wear our hair or whatever. Teachers or office managers shouldn't have tattoos or dyed hair either, I guess?
25.
The question should be 'Why Don't Some Guys Care About Their Appearance..? The simple answer would be: 'because it's not important to them.' I'm one of them.
This is pretty much all there is to it, right?! Or am I missing something?
