I just parted company with a 1995 passive Corvette, and instantly regretted it. It was very heavy, so I couldn't really gig it anymore. But, it was beautifully built and sounded great. It could do that growly tone, but not like a jazz bass. It sounded very well defined and clear too, through a Markbass setup. Even though it was heavy, it was a real players bass. I only moved it on as I wanted another Precision. This was a bubinga one btw.

TC Electronic is definately better than Markbass !!

Subjectivity at its finest. -
So, your singer waited until after the gig to complain? Did the keyboard player not say anything during, or was he too nauseous to speak?!

There's some gear in that photo. I spent 5 minutes just taking it all in! The Matamp looks like a very well made cab.
You must get the reverse machines... and the tweed case... you know that!
It's going to happen isn't it. It's pretty much inevitable.
-
Oh, and a set of covers have just been added to the order... Need to stop browsing now or a set of reverse tuning pegs will have been ordered before I know it, and maybe a tweed hardcase.
-
Today I ordered: 2 CTS 250k pots, a Switchcraft jack, a set of Fender P/Tele knobs and a Fender Vintage P Pickup. All that's left to do is post Howard my pickguard tomorrow morning, then sit back and wait for all that lot to arrive! Woohoo.

Yes! Snap it up if it feels good to you. They are quality instruments at great prices.

They've been discontinued for a few months now. I asked whilst visiting a big south coast retailer last week. They haven't had new stock for about 5 months. I put some 50-100 on a P and they're great. Similar tension as well it seems as I didn't need to make any adjustments.
With the rosewood board I'd go with a tort guard as a better contrast, just like that Jazz above . If it was a maple board then the white would look best.
Yeah I agree. Just got to get the white one off to the Bass Doc to be used as a template now!
How about pearl... that would look very nice IMO.
That was my original plan. The tort on that Jazz looks very classy though.
My pink Jazz with Tort PG. Nice combination and little less garish than the white
That looks ace. Definitely better than white.

Here is my latest, a 1996 Japanese Precision. Not too much info on it, there is a Fender 50th anniversary sticker on the back - i don't know if it was a limited colour/run. It is strung with 50 - 100 Fender flats and weighs 8lbs 6. I love it! Really, really love it. Going to fit a tort PG and some covers, some new knobs, and it'll be perfect. Thought i'd chuck in a picture of my beloved too - 2012 US Std. My only two basses now - don't think i'll ever want/need anything else... Just a fretless P... And an Oly White with tort guard...

Here is a better quality pic - shows the colour a bit more accurately
Gorgeous! Yeah, swap the white for a tort PG for more 60's vibe, and for historical correctness' sake I'd install Kluson reverse tuners. And chrome covers, of course. What's wrong with the knobs?
Good shout. I did wonder whether to go tort! Will try find the details of the chap on here that makes them. The knobs don't match, which annoys me! One has been replaced at some point. I'm shopping for chrome covers as we speak as well :-)

The colour was what first drew me to it! It plays really well and I'm liking the Fender flats too. New knobs and pickguard and it'll be set.

So, today I picked up a new to me Precision bass. Built in 1996, I think, it's a 50th anniversary Japanese P bass in Sell Pink. It's been set up with a new set of Fender Flats. Weighs in at 8lbs 6, so nice and light! Will give it a full workout tonight. Really pleased so far though. It could do with new vol/tone knobs and maybe a new pickguard. There are a couple of minor bumps, but overall it's in great condition. Anybody have one, or know much about them?
I picked up this Am. Spl. Nitro Satin Precision today. It plays great.
It looks great as well. I'd love to find one of these. They were going for some bargain prices a while back. How does it sound compared to your US Std?
I suppose the size of stages being played also have a factor here - some of the stages I`ve played standing just about on top of the cab is the only place available. Would be nice playing the O2 I suppose.....
Yeah, this. Wish I had that luxury!
I prepared a new 4x12 cabinet for bass with a real old sound. When i will receive my Go pro i will show you some moment of the life in our company. All evening before to come at home we play ping pong or Table football, yiu will see.
Can't wait to see this video. I have a club600f32 -which sounds huge, so can imagine a 4x12 would be brilliant! -
Credit where credit's due. The boy can play but give me the tone of a beautiful double bass playing a few notes over this any day of the week. That goes for Victor Wooten too.
Yeah, agreed.

Oh dear. After getting my US Precision, and thinking it would be the last bass I would ever need to buy - I now have a strong urge to buy more Precisions...
