I snapped up Marcin’s Digitech Bass Synth Wah. Great comms, sent out really quickly and arrived quicker than expected and really well packaged. Pleasure to deal with, many thanks!

@Al Krow yeah, octave up atm. I need to spend a bit more time and see what else other TonePrints offer. I’ve not tried the Stomp for octave up. I don’t think I’ll use it on a gig, but it’s a fun sound. Actually, with that in mind, I’ll make a point to use it later and see what happens 😁

Hugely impressed by the HB stuff! Have you got one of their boards? I think the board and case were £60, new. The power brick was £50. So not too bad at all! Quality wise, it all seems solid! Even the case, which is more so than I was expecting. The board is light, and adjustable. The ISO offers 500mA each out AND is powered by an IEC cable which is a plus for me. Everything is playing nicely and there’s no unwanted noise. On the Stomp I have Bass Octave - 70s Chorus - Ampeg Drive. Then external FS is SVT amp sim - Tuner. I had to put it all together in a bit of a rush, after settling on a new patch. But I’m really happy with it. Not too sure what to replace the TC Sub with 🤔

I gigged my P bass Friday and was convinced it was the new number 1 for live as well as studio stuff. Played the TT5 SL at a 3 hour wedding last night and now I’m not sure 😂 This bass was built for those long nights! The slap tone is also unbeatable and it’s incredibly easy to play with a buzz-less, very low action. PMs replied to, but I’m getting close to withdrawing I think.

Put this together Friday, went straight out and played a party in big open room. Last night did a wedding in a marquee at one of the Queen’s holiday gaffs, then this afternoon have a pub gig. I don’t use an amp, so the Stomp is taking care of that side of things too. So far, it’s ticked every box at 2 very different locations. The BSW took a bit of attention in soundcheck to dial in, but sounds amazing. The Sub’n’Up is set for a POG style thing, but I’ll replace it with something else I think as it’s not really needed. I actually prefer the Bass Octave in the Stomp. The two button switch adds in an Ampeg SVT sim on the top end to add a bit of an amp feel, which is pretty much always on - and the 2nd button is to access the tuner. The board is a Harley Benton Spaceship and powering the wireless, BSW & TC is a Harley Benton ISO.

I had a 95 Japanese P in shell pink. Really great looker and at the time (about 8 years ago) only cost £350 from a big retailer. I’m sure it would be over double that today. I put some money into the electronics and it was a really nice precision. Sold it in the end as it fell out of favour, but I’d love it back now.

The 15” cab could be worth a shot in the dark at £60 - if this is somewhere near accurate: Relatively lightweight (approx 12kg) Though, I’d hazard a guess that it’s a typo.

So, could the AC out be passed on to power an active speaker? Wondering if I could use an m-f IEC extension to power my wedge and save a plug socket!
-
Cheers guys. Can’t argue for the price. Going to get one ordered. I won’t need to add a 2nd, but do appreciate the IEC plug rather than the usual barrel ones. Also means I don’t need to worry about adapters or changing the 2 pin plug! Plus it’ll power a 350mA pedal I have no sweat.

https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_iso_1ac_pro_modular.htm Anybody bought one of these? Look promising, individually isolated 500mA outputs and a proper IEC power cable for £50 What use would the AC out be, to power a 2nd one?

Sold Bert my Helix Stomp, very easy process and great guy to deal with. Very quick payment, great comms and patience, as I was tied up a few days before I could post the Stomp. cheers Bert.

The Stage 800 you mentioned are actually really good. The effects are useable, it comes with a foot switch and has some nice features that offer something on top of what is already a very good combo, i.e a Rumble 500. If you need a tuner, and aren’t a heavy pedal user, then it is worth the extra on top of a Rumble 500. I had one, sold it, and am pretty tempted to grab another. I liked the filter and chorus, the drive was usable and the compressors were pretty good. The Markbass 121h is tempting too, I like the form factor of the 121p and have used and liked it before, but I prefer the tweeter of the H.

I’ve had a Sandberg VS5, Sire and Yamaha BBP35 and now have a US Professional P bass. They’re all great, but at being a P bass the Fender is hands down best. Perhaps unsurprisingly. The Sire P5 looks like it’s going to be a winner.

Looks good - P for little people - no offence intended

I got mine in January. Think it was about £130. It’s great! I’d have been more than happy had it cost double. See the Twins pic for scale: -
Edit: price adjusted to £300 for a quick sale. Or, £310 posted . In fantastic condition, boxed and has been very well cared for. This has been my entire rig a couple of years now. Noise gate/amp & cab sim/EQ/compressor/effects/tuner! The full works. The time has come to sell, however, as I need a small combo for a few side gigs I’ve picked up. it’s a great addition to a pedal board, the effects and processing are really very good. Otherwise, as I used it, it’s a full rig paired with a monitor or IEM. I can ship UK and am after a sale, but let me know if you’re interested and have a good 1x12 combo to trade.

Fender JMJ Mustang. Just pulled the trigger, video now up
M@23 replied to police squad's topic in Bass Guitars
Literally nothing. I’ve grown to love a plain black bass. The blue JMJ look fantastic, but the aged black had an undeniable vibe, especially as pictured above with that pickguard. I really like Fender flats too, that they come with. -
Nice one. I recently got an Am Pro I P bass and love it. Mine's black/maple/mint. Have to say, it has one of my favourite B strings. It’s uniformly P bass. Do you know which flats it’s strung with?
-
They’re not bad are they 😂 Bet it’s great with the EBS. Mine was best for me when used with clean and powerful amps. I turned my Glock up to full volume once, just to see how things went; it just got very, very loud… haha. No sweat at all.
-
I’ve been raving about these since I picked mine up in January. They’re genuinely great basses that have a fantastic feel. It’s probably the most fun-to-play bass I’ve owned.
-
Interested in how? I use a Headrush 112 and find it to be great for bass. 90% of the time mine is used as a monitor for electric drums, backing tracks, my vocal and bass. Sometimes I’ll put some guitar through it. I’ve used it like a traditional amp/cab too, with my Stomp and it does a great job.

Ooof, the blue JC 🤤 I played a white one the other day and couldn’t quite believe how great it was.
