1. My brother has one of these and it's incredible for the money. Really nice piece of kit. GLWTS.
2. I've always thought it would be cool to put a smoke machine in a kick drum, I think it could blow some wicked smoke rings!
3. I'm in a similar position in my new band which is a four piece (Drums, singer, guitar and bass), and I had this thought too. I decided in the end that the 'drop' you speak of actually goes a long way to emphasising the solo, and that I liked the way it change the dynamic of the song. If you were set on filling it out though, I would say your best bet would be some form of tubey grit, to beef up your tone and spread out into the sonic emptyness.
4. No problems at all dealing with Tom, highly recommended. Nice chap.
5. Welcome! As far as head recommendations go, why not go with the TC Electronic BH500? It's designed to match the BC212 and I love mine.
6. Another song written on bass guitar: Odd Soul by band called MuteMath. Their guitarist left just before they started writing and recording the album, so all the riffs were written by the bass player, and he played the guitar parts too (uses a T40 as well!). I think it really shows in the way the songs and riffs are constructed that it's written by a bass player. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvrfoU3SS4U&list=PL2C19439F6C64A3EF
7.
I was pointed in the direction of teamup online calendars. Seems a bit easier than Google. http://www.teamup.co.../tutorials.html But, as with Google, it is only as good as the weakest link.
Seconding this one. I don't use it for the bands I'm in, but have experience with Teamup. It's very simple, no need for logins for the technophobics! Better than Google Calendar for that reason imo.
8. And she's gone! Claudia has been Winkled, man. [sub](pending the usual)[/sub]
9. I'd recommend my Hondo in the for sale section, then you'd have £300 for the important bit... the amp!
10. Mild OCD... Should the P pickups be the other way round so that the "Entwistle"is in the top left and the "PBXN" in the bottom right like the Jazz pickup? Really intrigued by these pickups. They look great! Trying to think of an excuse to install one of them in one of my basses, even though I totally don't need to.
11. Another price drop. It would really be silly to go lower than this. BUMP!
12. Nope, but I will be dancing at Sidmouth.
13. Out of curiosity, is the pickup spacing on a Squier Silver Series the 60s spacing or 70s spacing?
14.
I emailed him...no response yet. So, he's not in the running currently.
Perhaps send him a PM on here?
15. He's fantastic. Really love this pick technique. EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx2lza1Rb0U
16. AJR is a chap on here also (username is Andyjr1515). There's lots of pics of his work on his website www.ajrguitarmods.co.uk and he seems like a nice bloke from other threads he's been involved in: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/235818-westone-thunder-3-fretless-fingerboard-refinish-help/
17. Crikey. That's actually a bit sexy.
18. Bit fed up of looking at this thing now! - £120!
19. Stop that! It's silly. (Besides, it needed more whammy bar)
