1. Someone buy cousin it a hair band.
2.
Glad you (pics?)are getting it sorted (pics). Can't beat a bit (pics?)of experimentation. (There are a few subtle hints hidden in this message - can you spot them all?) heh heh RK (pics?)
What he said.
3. From the looks of old sale ads in the for sale section of basschat and completed listings on eBay, you can expect anywhere between £200 and £350. A Bass is only ever worth what someone is willing to pay for it though. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-Roadster-RS-924TV-Bass-Guitar-1981-original-with-case-/121202207714 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/183753-fs-1981-ibanez-roadster-rs924-sold http://basschat.co.uk/topic/56113-81-ibanez-roadster http://basschat.co.uk/topic/96386-ibanez-rs924-roadster-for-sale-now-sold-via-ebay
4. One pole per string, like a P version of the J pickups you get on a Big Al???
5. Tangentially related: Mr. Gilmour playing Bass with Spinal Tap http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UOYKgXk4yE
6. My favourite has always been Time. A lot of Pink Floyd fans would probably say you should shut yourself in dark room with a pair of over the ear headphones and listen to Dark Side of the Moon and/or The Wall in their entireties. Personally, I was introduced to them in my school days (not all that long ago as I'm 24!) by the compilation type album called Echoes (not the same as the 20 minute tune named Echoes). I quite like Roger Water's tone on the Live at Pompeii album too. Comfortably Numb has a massively simple bassline to it. Money is one of the first songs I ever learnt to play on the bass, a must for any bass player, surely?
7.
He won't post it I've already asked......
Consider punt made then in that case! Just spotted this too.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Washburn-B-20-Stage-Series-Bass-Guitar-Cherry-Sunburst-MIJ-1980s/321255048977 Now THAT is gorgeous.
8. Those posh knobs with the pearl inlays on top?
9. Bugger. Bit of a poor start. Hope it gets resolved!
10. Who Put the Bump (in the Bump, Bump, Bump)
11.
I want that so much it hurts. Worst GAS I've had since coming back to BC - I'll have to drop him a note & see if he'll post it! J.
I'm tempted in a big way, especially as he's not far up the road from me. Let me know if he says no to posting because I think I'll take a punt.
12. I dunno... I think the green one with the gold stripe looks classy.
13. I would certainly have one if it was black. I don't think I could manage being seen in public with a florescent orange one on...! Would also quite happily have a Basschat mug. Yespleasethankyouverymuch.
14. Interesting, ugly, Matsumoku... It ticks the boxes! Some nice info and loads of pics in the listing actually, guy seems to know his stuff. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aria-WL-The-Wedge-Custom-Series-Bass-1985-Matsumoku-Made-in-Japan-SUPER-RARE-/221324141159
15.
John takes up enough space on his own , even before he's wheeled in his gear . He he
Fair play to the fat bloke he has lost a fair bit of weight, but he still manages to take up about half of the space available to the whole band!
16.
What about this Washburn Vulture? http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649
Tasty! It's like they put the wood on back to front, all that sexy quilting is on the back!
17. I avoid this problem by arriving on time. This usually means I am the second to arrive (after the drums who always gets there early). The guitarists are always late, so they arrive last and have to find their own space.
18. Cheers Jon, had a minor GAS case there and you've talked some sense into me!
19. On hold pending usual stuff.
20. PM's replied to. Thanks Thunderbird, that may well be an option. The financially sensible option has been suggested in that I split the parts out of this and sell separately, although I would like to think (perhaps naively?) that the bass will go forward as is. Carrying on as an awesome pimped EB-0, rather than just a bog standard normal EB-0.
21.
Er yes! Buy it!
Tempting. Very tempting!!!
22. Washburn Force 8 - Crikey, this is rather nice. Buy it now at £280. Fair price? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Washburn-Force-8-Bass-Guitar-/251382903038
23. I bought this Epiphone not 2 months ago (end of September) from user Paul S from this very boutique. I'm selling because I finally got round to gigging with it last night, and the sound (although fantastic) just doesn't fit with the type of music I'm playing. Although it's awesome, there's just no point me hanging on to it if it's not going to get used. I hope Paul won't mind me linking to the original sale thread as it was he who pimped this awesome bass, so he is best placed to fill you in on all the details. There are some lovely pictures on there too (complete with sexy leopard print). http://basschat.co.u...ack-pimped-l150 It has upgraded electrics (by KiOgon!), an upgraded (DiMarzio Model One) pickup and the massive Hipshot Supertone bridge. The only changes I have made are putting some heavier guage strings on (these ones to be precise: http://www.stringsdi...-scale-strings/) and I've screwed in the pickguard screws so the screw holes aren't showing. Included will be the original pickup, original bridge and the pickguard. I'm looking to get back what I paid for it, which is £150. More than the upgrades are worth! Collected from Bury st Edmunds or can meet half way anywhere up to 40 miles, so that includes as far away as Norwich, King's Lynn, Huntingdon, Chelmsford, Harlow.... Happy to discuss trades, something humbuckery and rocktastic would be ideal.
24. ON HOLD Really nice black Washburn acoustic bass, spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Currently strung with flatwounds which sound awesome but I have a set of light bronze acoustic bass strings that I can include. No case I'm afraid. Has a couple of dings but otherwise great condition, it's just not getting much use as I find it easier to practice with headphones plugged into my amp head. Can't really gig in a hard rock band with an acoustic bass... More specs and a picture here: http://www.washburn....oustic/ab10.php [s]£200[/s] £180 collected from Bury st Edmunds or can meet half way anywhere up to 40 miles, so that includes as far away as Norwich, King's Lynn, Huntingdon, Chelmsford, Harlow.... May be interested in trades for something suitably 4 stringed, multi-pickup-ed and "RAWK!" let me know what you've got.
