1. How do you guys find bands in your areas? I've had success with Partysounds in the past but it seems to have died right down, and joinmyband.com seems to be a bit of a teenage dreamers hangout...
2. That looks a lot like those yellowing stains you find on really old duvets or pillows....
3. Thank's Count Bassy, that's some really handy advice. I'll try to bear it all in mind. It's going to be interesting how much my role will be changed after being used to trying to show off in a rock covers band! There won't be a drummer, so I'll be the one responsible for the beat!
4. So after 10 months, this whole Ceilidh thing is becoming a reality. Any more hints and tips please? My first gig is the end of October...!!!
5. What went wrong with the electrics if you don't mind me asking? Do you have the battery cover still?
6. What's the action like please?
7. I've had the amp nearly a year, and I've never stored a sound... Don't really see the point!
8. Got no complaints about mine! It's damn good stuff!!!
9. Was really enjoying it until the slightly nonsensical stuff at about the 8 minute mark, then lost interest... It just seemed to lose the groove!?
10. Hot tip for Trad. tunes, try here: http://www.banjolin.co.uk/banjolin12/index.php?content=index&section=music&subsection=tunes
11. it's about TIM someone put a stop to all this tomfoolery.
12. Will very soon be getting my hands on a mandolin myself!
13. Ultra rare. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261001123114&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123#ht_500wt_1147
14.
I had this done to my BB1100S: Possibly featuring in the for sale section shortly.
This bass is currently sitting on my lap. I can't speak for stock BB1100s basses, as Heathy had already stuck in replacement pickups, bridge, nut and fretboard, but this thing is awesome! Heathy, you are a man of utmost excellence!
15. Was about to post this myself! Flippin' 'eck! I'm keeping my eye out for a green one... I want a green bass!
16. Saw an upside down guitarist playing with Roger Waters on a DVD once. He was pretty cool. No idea of his name though.
17. Link doesn't seem to be working for me? It just says "The content is unavailable".
18. Gig allowing, I should be able to come. I can bring my Washburn Idol and my Yamaha BB1100s with me. Don't see much point in bringing my amp as it really wouldn't match up to the other stuff that is being brought along! I'll be coming from the Newmarket area.
19. Had a go at seeing if i could take it apart yesterday, unfortunately there is an immoveable rivet that stopped me in my tracks. I'll send Hipshot an email and see if they can suggest anything, but otherwise it's going to have to be the Basschat marketplace for this bad boy i think! I don't have the skills or the money to get it rebated into the back of the headstock...
20. Beware of guitar tutors who decide they can branch out to bass because "it's practically the same"...
21. Bit of an odd one this.... I ordered a Hipshot Extender for my Washburn bass, as my new yamaha has one and I quite like them! I decided i needed a GB7 as that's the one that looks the same. http://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=72 I came to fit it last night, and found that the bit the string winds round (can't remember the name at the moment) is not long enough for the thickness of the headstock. Now, has anyone taken one of these apart? Is it possible to swap the bit the string winds round between the old tuner and the hipshot? Or should I give up and try and sell the hipshot on here?
22. Whats the story behind the cable tie?
23. I learnt on one of these. Ended up burning it in a wheelbarrow. Good times! Well recommended!
24.
i'm up for that!
Count me in also, but will there be coffee as well as tea? Has anyone decided what biscuits we're having?
