1. I say you should stick to getting lessons, preferably from a GOOD teacher. A good teacher will give you inspiration, ambition and interest, not just get you to repeat scales over and over. Helpfully, there are a few tutors on here, might be worth going to the tutors sub forum and looking for ones near you? Especially looking out for recommendations.
2. "Scream for Bareface!" or.... "I'll scweam and scweam until i thick on the floor! (If I don't get a Barefaced Cab!)"
3. Great listing! Very interesting reading. I must deal with my GAS one bass at a time though! haha! good luck with the sale!
4. You would look like a plank playing it!!! Ba-Doom-Tish! ......I'll get my coat.
5. I would like to register my interest! But unfortunately I lack the funds! I will get back to you if this hasn't gone by the middle of next week.
6. I'm slightly disappointed it's not actually made from metal! Looks very cool though! Looking forward to the progress!
7. The which bass decision was a good one! The colours of the one you're using fit the theme of the video well. your blue one would have stood out a bit too much!
8.
I definately read that somewhere. Comes after Rule 33: Get annoyed at your Guitard doing fills in every little gap there is possible and just before rule 35: Wait till after playing before taking narcotics.
I would like to see the full list of rules.
9. I want this tone: Although most of the time i don't sound anything like it! Can someone point me in the right direction for getting it? Or should i start my own thread to avoid hijacking?
10.
Definitely! There are a few of the higher-order MIJ Hondos around (I have a lovely set-neck/carved top Les Paul copy) and this is certainly light-years ahead of the plywood Korean stuff that usually turns up. MIJ Hondos were sourced from Matsumoku (confirmed) & Tokai (allegedly) - this one does not have a standard Matsumoku neckplate but if the numbering follows Uncle Mat's then it's from 1981. He's presumably dropped the BIN since you posted - now showing £129. I'd say that's pretty good, if you could live with the logo! J.
Just get one of those "Faker" or "Fecker" logos for it! ...In all honesty, how would this compare to an identical spec Fender from the same year? Are they really just as good? EDIT: Interesting G string! :brow:
11. I reckon it's like starting a letter with your address in the top right!
12. How much to include the hat? :brow:
13. Nina Simone - Feeling Good Ben E. King - Stand By Me (Don't get a tab for this! work it out! Use the major scale in A.)
14. Me at the Brandon Buzz, in the rain, doing my best rock god impression.
15. Is it me or are those bass strings ridiculously thin? See around 3:16.... I think it's cool bass playing, and cool drumming. The song is good but the performance is a bit boring to watch!
16. The great Mr. Entwhistle loved a particular frankenstein... The fabled Fenderbird! Custom extra thick body with a fender precision neck.
17.
They definitely did!
That's beautiful....!
18. Just found out we were videoed on Sunday!
19. Ok ok, so the sound quality is poor, and a few of my backing vocals were off, and i looked at my left hand WAY too much... But i feel like a real rockstar now! This is the first properly good outdoor gig I've done, and it's the best gig the band has every had. So.... thoughts?
20. What sort of area would you be considering offers in?
21.
It is! Soon on it's way to it's 4th(?) BCer!
It's like the proverbial village bicycle!
22.
Cracking little set-up for not a lot of money; that would be great for anyone stepping up from their first combo/practice amp. I'd be very surprised if someone doesn't snap this up very soon!
You should be ashamed of yourself...
23. I need this. For obvious reasons.
24.
I played in Brandon a couple of years ago at The Great Eastern Hotel, unfortunately now gone I believe. Had an unbelievable night where we debuted our new drummer, who had his own fanclub by the end. The place was absolutely rammed - barely had room to move my arms - and the audience were incredible. Such a shame it's gone, we were really looking forward to going back. They obviously enjoy their music there...
The Eastern has actually reopened very recently. I have been in there back before it closed, but i don't know if it's any good now. Never played there though...
25. Beyond brilliant. Local music festival called Brandon Buzz. We arrived at 3 scheduled to play at 9. Watched the other bands and were merry! Until it started spitting at about 6! Oddly, not alot of people left, but by the time we started it was raining fairly persistently. Our set was amazing from the first song. The audience were excellent and we were very well received. They all sang along and danced and jumped around when asked to! It's a night i will never forget. Had a professional PA team that made everything sound awesome. We were the support band for the headliners, who unfortunately didn't get to play. The police pulled the plug on it because a fight broke out. There were about 10 police vehicles turned up at one point...! I feel really bad for the headliners. they had driven a couple of hours then waited 4 hours! got their amps on stage and were then told to pack up.... EDIT: I've been practising my rock stance:
