It's not completely unplayable, but next to impossible to get a sensible action without constant buzzing... straight edge does show the curve... How much would a fret level/crow set me back? Could be more than a new neck judging by eBay prices!

Thomann selling Harley Benton basses as 'Decoration only'
I've been out all day. There was a Thunderbird? Would have been tempted.
Yup, gone now though... https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_tb_70vs_deko.htm?o=12&ref=mal_a_12&search=1445796860 -
I think I know the answer already, but in case there is something I haven't thought of... Is there any way of sorting out a neck that seems to have a curve to it from about the 12th fret up? The truss rod tightens and loosens, and seems to work OK, but not so much up the body end. If it's not going to be worth the effort, which is sort of what I'm expecting, can anyone give a recommendation for a half decent neck supplier? possibly on ebay? It's a 19 fret rosewood dot board on a 1990 squier Jazz.

Tony is a top bloke, bought a Jazz bass from me, paid very quickly, and good communications throughout. Deal with confidence.

Just installed my third wiring loom that I've had from John. Spot on as always, John's communications are great, dispatch and delivery time is brilliant, top quality kit, can't fault it. John is a top bloke.

Bought this in a fit of excitement when I saw it come up in the deko ads on Thomann, and bought a PB50 at the same time. I already have two other Jazz basses, and this one is not as nice as them (sharp fret ends and a couple of uneven fret levels). Nothing major, but does need some work to make it nice. Other than this it's absolutely fine, and doesn't even have the "D" stamps in the neck heel and by the neck plate that is common to these "decoration only" basses. I'm after £50 to cover what the bass costs me and to cover posting it. SOLD THANKS All the details are here: http://www.thomann.d...c729ad3c410f70b And pictures of the actual beast:

Looks cool! Makes me think Beluga whale. Obviously not my bass, but I would say that right where the top horn meets the edge of the neck, I feel like the line could be curved back just a little bit, to point straight at where the bottom horn meets the neck? Although, this could well enter more realms of accidentally imitating someone's design! What are your plans for the neck heel?

Having had them for a little while, I think I'll moving the JB75 on. I already have 2 other Jazz basses, and this one isn't as nice as the other 2! -
I've been considering one of these, after hearing the pedal it's modeled on used in one of those "100 best bass riffs" videos... This is the video, he is using an OCD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-RjmUFec40 This is the Joyo clone of an OCD: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005J5D38W I don't have personal experience of this pedal though, beyond the sounds in that video!

Looks great! :-)

Were I to be so bold as to want an 8-string ...

I asked this a little while ago, and in the end I didn't bother, but i still hold a burning desire in my heart for a Washburn B20-8... Rare as hens teeth/rocking horse poo etc. though it would seem... https://texangerbilguitars.wordpress.com/gallery/washburn-b-20-8-string/ -
Hmmm. I'm not imagining things. Bass number two sounds more expensive than bass number one. It's a fuller, rounder sound with more character. There's a lovely growl on the lower notes. If number two isn't the vintage Fender, then it should be.
You put my thoughts into words the way I never could! :-P I wonder whether everyone is using headphones, or laptop speakers, or desk speakers etc.? I used headphones, and could hear a difference, but it was definitely subtle.

So far, I'm enjoying the PB50 much more than the JB75. I discovered the cause for the deco price on the PB50, it has a dent on the bottom edge of the headstock. No big deal! Sounds nice, plays alright, I'm happy! The JB75 meanwhile has a full set of sharp fret ends, and a high fret somewhere up the dusty end, I think I need to get it booked in for a fret dress. Also, the binding looks a bit tacky and cheap to me... -

My PB50 and JB75 both turned up today. I haven't tried getting a jack into the socket on the PB50 yet, but the only thing i can find wrong with that is the ends of the cloth around the wiring coming up out of the pickup is all splayed and ugly, and the very tip of the headstock has a light patch. The JB75 doesn't even have the D stamps, but the E string rattles on an openstring. The neck relief seems fine, so i wonder if the nut is the problem... I've never learnt to fiddle with nuts, maybe this is a good time to figure out how to install a new nut. -

No sign of my deko pair so far... I suppose I will have to wait until Monday! -
I traded my Westone Thunder Jet for Dunc's MIK Squier Jazz. Great communications throughout the whole deal, and Dunc sent me his bass first so I could use the box to send mine back. Other people in my office at work were amazed at the level of trust and belief involved. I didn't even consider that, such is the way of the faith we have in other members of Basschat! Thoroughly nice bloke, highly recommended.
