1. This was one of the reasons I ended up moving on my Peavey T40, I used to get fretting hand ache after a gig with it, which never really improved. It is a shame, because I loved that bass. I need to get myself another T40 some time in future...
2. Can we just pause a moment for the sheer brilliance that is Dave Grohl's Throne? Just look at the engineering that's gone into it!!!
3. If anyone needs a BT10 then I have one that will be for sale soon. My MIJ Squier Silver Series Jazz seems to have a very odd tuner, which doesn't match any of the hipshots. When i used to have a detuner, I used it absolutely loads. Even managed to flip it during songs sometimes, there's a D > D# run into the chorus of Cochise, and I used to flip down to the low D, then flip it back up and play the chorus. Nobody ever noticed, but it made me feel cool.
4. Have you considered the Zoom B1Xon or B1on??? Cheaper than the B3, but same internal processor i think...
5.
Very flexible with deep and powerful bass IF reached a good listening experience. Unique sound field design, musical instruments structured to win the sense of hearing" Excellent!
Here's some slightly better english... http://www.wired.com/2015/06/mrice-e300/
6. If you want to be super cheap, and don't care about being wireless, get one of these: http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_ma_400.htm Combine it with a pair of these (cheap Chinese earphones that get top audiophile reviews): http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00S5P7S16 And one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/FPUK-metre-3-5mm-Headphone-EXTENSION/dp/B001D2WHEQ Robert's your mother's brother. Bish bash bosh. Job done.
7. This looks great! although, I can't justify replacing my perfectly adequate Line6 G30...
8. I can listen to music as a whole in the same way that I can unfocus my eyes, if that makes sense?
9. I take this a step further, and tend to find myself humming bass lines more often than not. Didn't figure this out myself until a girlfriend started commenting that I always hum the basslines...
10. If you haven't broken a string at a gig and then tuned back up and carried on playing on three strings for the rest of the set until you can tie a knot in the end of the broken one and put it back on in the break between sets.... then you haven't lived.
11. I have the classic, original polytune. I love the strobe effect tuner, really fast to use and accurate too. This thing looks like a beauty, I think I'll get one for my mandolin...
12. Quietly dribbling at that thunderbird. :-P
13.
Seller has a sense of humour too....!
Then you can get the items after hearing knock on your door. **feel free to me if you have any questions**
14.
Ha - we really do need a reputation system on this forum. You can have a pre-emptive +1 from me.
We did, for a short period. It was dreadful! It just encouraged huge amounts of mindless comments aimed to make people laugh, and took away from proper discussion.
15. I rest my case.... http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Custom-Firebird-Shaped-8-Strings-Electric-Bass-Purple-Finish-Ebony-Fingerboard-Neck-thru-Body-consctruction/32363388956.html?spm=2114.32010308.4.46.8vgAJS
16. How did the customisation process work out then? Did they contact you after you placed the order, or did you email them? Aliexpress is always interesting, the strange and interesting knock-offs can be pretty tempting!!!
17. Excellent. Really excellent.
18. These les paul basses would be so much more attractive with an adjustable bridge...
19.
I have a mint one of these and can confirm that they are excellent, even got the hardcase. Bargain for someone
Did you manage to get a chrome bridge to replace the black epi thunderbird one I had put on there? They are awesome basses, especially for this money.
20.
Which, ladies and gentlemen, is Bryan's very polite way of saying "Yes - and I knew MY idea would work too!"
21.
As a taster, let's just say it's the bit in the story where I put a number of suggestions that countered Tom's thoughts and Tom stuck to his guns and - inevitably - Tom's vision was absolutely spot on ...best headstock I've ever done...
I remember this part of the process! Your thoughts and suggestions were a great part of the Thunder Jet build for me such a fun/interesting process to work out these evolving changes.
22. Indian Rosewood was one of the veneers that tempted me when I was looking at getting my Thunder Jet re-vamped by Andy. It's an awesome bit of wood!
23. Amazing! I'm glad you managed to put some of that spare veneer to good use ;-) This is such a cool build, and finally explains why you've been keeping it under wraps all this time!
24. It's a bit Iceni Zoot shaped, I like your adaptations. As always Andy, I love watching your work!
