1. Just bought a bass from Phill. Excellent experience: - Super fast responses to messages - Extremely helpful - The bass was explained in detail and expertly demonstrated - Very honest, he even pointed out tiny dings that he didn't need to - Generally helpfull and kind... better than a shop! Thanks Phill!
2. Bump (Also I think the back and sides may be rosewood and not mahogany?)
3. According to the people at the Manuel Rodriguez factory in the USA this guitar is a hand made guitar built in the Rodriguez workshops in Almansa 22 years ago! This handmade guitar has a solid Cedar top and I think the sides and back are mahogany. I think the fretboard is ebony. This is the older version of the Model B and I have been told that it is of better quality than the current Model B. I will also include a brand new set of D'Addario strings. There is a 'ding' between the bridge and the edge of the guitar which can be seen in the photos. There are other small ones from general use but they don't affect the guitar's playability or tone, the guitar is not 'mint' but it has a great action and sounds very warm and resonant. Any musician would be proud to own this. It is not the same as the current model B guitar. For more photos of the guitar just email me at [email protected] FREE STRINGS! £199 including delivery
4.
The main differences (IMHO) are: The GT-6B has COSM amp/cab & classic pedal modelling and a wider range of effects The ME-50B requires additional switches for foot-based bank switching (e.g. FS-5U or similar). The GT-6B has built-in footswitches, whereas the ME-50B only has buttons for bank switching The GT-6B has a digital readout of the setting values, the ME-50B is adjusted by knobs i.e. it's a little easier to fine-tune parameters on the GT. The GT-6B has more slots per bank and more banks (can't remember how many atm) - in other words, more presets The GT-6B has a balanced line output, the ME-50B doesn't The ME-50B is possibly easier for spontaneous effects, the GT-6B is better for lots of pre-defined effects (e.g. tribute band must-have sounds, etc.) You pay for the extra functionality on the GT Having said that, the effects on both sound pretty good. I'm still keen to trade this (trade = less spousal aggro), but will consider reasonable offers of cash
Thanks, very helpful! Good luck with the sale.
5. Now on eBay bump.

8. I was after one of these but I don't have any studio gear to trade, but wondered how you found it compared to the GT-6B
9. Hi I really like the tone Mr Devine is getting from his bass in this clip; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljb0UlelwgE My question is this; are there other bases I should check out that provide this kind of tone? I'm after a five string with a high C and 33 or 34" scale. Thanks for any help.
10. PMed (well I will have in about 3 minutes).

13. Hello everyone, I have a Boss BCB-60 pedal board for sale, which is virtually unused... basically as new really. I got it last summer with a Boss GEB-7 EQ pedal and a Boss LMB-3 limitor/compressor pedal. I used it for one gig... but I can't be bothered to buy the other pedals that I want, so I'm going back to my multi effects unit... lazy! Because it is a tough plastic case it is very light weight, but seems to be well up to the job. Here it is at GAK: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/boss-bcb-60-pedal-board/1298 £68 + P&P. I also have the limitor/compressor pedal and EQ pedal for sale here for bargain prices. See my other listings for photos etc. of how perfect they are. 7 Band EQ Pedal is for sale here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=128140 Limitor/Compressor pedal is for sale here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=0#entry1169742
14.
Many thanks, much appreciated, I'll try and get some sounds recorded and up asap as well.
That'd be great. Will keep an eye out for them.
15.
If your ever in the Midlands your also more tham welcome to drop in and play it, same goes for anyone else.
Cheers, setting up for a gig at the moment but will give it serious thought tomorrow. Thanks.
16.
Hello Playbass, Near Newmarket, Suffolk
How much do these bad boys weigh? Is it lighter than it looks or is JP super strong?
17.
Flat seems ok to me too and the asymmetric thing is great! I'll try and sort some clips this week, I'm too low tech at home to get anything like a decent recording.
Thanks, that'd be great!
18. Any chance of some finger style sound clips?
19. Where is your lovely bass?
20. I was after a 5 string one of these a while back... Tempting. What's the scale length? I'm going out for the morning now. Will probably be sold by the time I get back.
21.
Bought this a few weeks back brand new. It's a great bass, but being a finger style player, find rosewood is more my thing. I am looking to sell, or do a straight swap for a DJ4 with rosewood board. It's up for sale for £650.
Fair enough, this lady seems to be mostly a finger style player too. Maybe try it for a bit longer, you may grow to love it, you never know? (If you were closer I'd just be buying this off you instead of encouraging you to keep it though!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf-J_sJB29Q (EDIT: forgot to put the link in!)
22. Always wanted to try a 33" bass. Do you have any sound clips of finger style playing? Just to get an idea of the sound. I guess you're going to say the pre amp and pickup switching makes it very versatile, but clips would be awesome.
23. This is an absolute bargain! Someone buy it quickly before I get myself in trouble!
24.
Would you say it's giggable without PA re-inforcement? Cheers! James
I play in a loud jazz sextet (think funky drummer and a guitarist who want's to win the decibel competition... no not all that jazzy I suppose!) with one and it was fine. Not enough for loud rock obviously, but they give a great punchy sound. Cool effects too if that's your thing.
