You guys kill me; making up all these rules about when others should do this and then when they shouldn't do that.
Why shouldn't they?? After all these guys are perfect, never forget anything, have the perfect stage set up and look perfect! We are obliged to look and be like them, if we can't attain their perfect standards we have no place being on a stage, we are lesser beings not fit to be called musicians! How do symphony orchestras get away with it??!!! 😉😉

would a bad drummer make you quit a band? I just did :-(
I don't do compromise. I insist on playing with drummers who are better / more experienced / more talented than me. Strangely enough, I'm not trying to be funny. I genuinely believe that I'll only improve as a bass player if I face the challenge of not embarrassing myself in front of the other half of the rhythm section.
^^^^^ THIS!! Our new full time drummer has pulled my playing together no end! Solid, excellent timekeeping and a nice bloke too! -
And before anyone asks, OBBM cables are good for metal!!! Nearly all OBBM cables here, never a problem!!

Bad drummer=bad band!! We occasionally have to get our guitarists step dad in and he's a nightmare. Absolutely awesome drummer on his own but no sense of timing or sensitivity to the song, get to the guitar solo and he sounds like he's on brushes, get to the verse and it's lets see how many cymbals we can hit per bar!! Thing is, the guitard and the singer (now the guitards wife) know it but sometimes there are gigs near where he lives up North that they feel obliged to get him in for. I told them they can feel obliged to get a bass dep when he's playing! All in good humour but soul destroying when he's playing! -

Played my local last night, literally across the road. So it was an absolute blast, all my mates there, able to have an ale or three and at the end of the night (about 2am) I staggered over the road to home with my bass and girlie leaving my rig there until today!! Did a song on the geetar too, a bluesy number that my late mum used to sing, she used to sing it far better than me but it was nice to have a widdle up the dusty end!!

Brazilian girl sent home trying to see Level 42 in UK

Ultimate Level 42 on Facebook, lots of explanation of what happened on there, from the girl herself and the people she was in contact with. It might stop all the speculation! -

According to what I've read on facebook she was staying with another fan (a person who's name pops up a lot on FB bass and L42 related sites) and the tickets remained with him as they were worried that they would get lost if posted to her. She only had photocopies. There is an account written by her as to what happened (which I won't copy as its a private post) seems she was quite hard done by as there was a lot of support out there for her! -

Played the Swan in Farnborough last night, cracking gig, good crowd of our regular followers and some good local support. Our singer worked out it was our 200th gig! Amazing, over five years that's not a bad return. Had our original drummer with us as well, good timing as our new regular drummist wasn't available and old one was back in the country for a few weeks! Only downside was that the DJ fired up after we finished and getting the gear out was through a bunch of pissed up clubbers!! Ugh, I must be getting old, being twerked at when you're carrying a 1x15 doesn't do it for me anymore!!

I run a lead from my headphone socket to my AV amp if I'm using the freeview on the box. Mini stereo jack to two rca plugs.
