    I had a nice compliment last night. A while back I depped with a friends band and saw her dad (guitarist in the band) in the pub and as usual he was very complimentary of my playing which was nice but the cracker came when he said the keyboard players first words to him on first meeting me were " he's a big man, he will be a proper bass player!" Now I ain't Nate Watts but if being a big man makes me a proper bass player I'm there!

    Ok so the rig is sorted. TC BH500 into TC BC210 and Barefaced Compact. Got the 210 yesterday and gigged it all last night. Big room in a social club, volume on 3 and it was great. 210 with the tweetertone control on the head was fantastic. Could back the treble off on the bass and get a good boost for any slappy clicky bits. Seems to have all the tonal variation I need. Crap photo!!

    Wow! What fantastic looking post, really wish I could afford it but my leg fell off and needs replacing and my wife just left me taking the ten kids, Ferrari, BMW X5, Porsche and Ford Cortina with her so I have to walk ten miles to work, without a leg! Ah well hard times but I'll keep my head held high and if I can sell the cat and my remaining daughter I'll have it off you! BUMP!

    Do we need to look at the "nice bass but can't afford" type bumps that are done by people other than the OP? Obviously out of their control but still leading to excessive bumping.

    Last night, charity function.....great crowd, get a few odd requests for a classic rock band (Elki Brooks etc) that we manage to busk through but one woman kept on coming up to me and shouting "Chesney Hawkes". After about the tenth time I shout back "Look I know he's put on a few pounds but as you can see I'm not fecking Chesney Hawkes" I think the laughter from the crowd made her shut up at last!
