1. I like the Superfly and so far the one I have has been no problem at all. I'm also thinking of running it as a pre amp using the line out into a power amp with 400+ per side into an Acme LowB 4ohm with Precision Device drivers that are on order as the original tens are a bit knackered and an Eminence loaded 1x15 8ohm. This also gives me the option to get another 8ohm cab to run the Superfly on its own with 3 cabs, ie the Acme from one output and 2x1x15 from the other. Lots of options and of course rehearsals will be just the Superfly plus the Acme for a nice easily transportable rig.
 2. Chilling with a bit of Buble......Crazy Love (Hollywood Edition)
 3. Sex on Fire,Dakota and bloody Freebird which to me sounds pants as we only have one guitard but every pub we do wants to hear it. Admittedly he's a bloody good guitard and me and the keys try to back him up as best we can but it just doesn't do it for me. Just started doing Hero, Nickelback/Chad Kroeger and that is starting to grate as well! Still, the other 30+ songs are good for me
 4. I was working in the lab late last night......................well the Fox and Hounds in Walton on the Hill! Me on the right! And lurking in the background! Had to stop for petrol on the way home, now that caused a stir!
 5. Damn, drove past the scene on way back from York with a group on the coach and we were bemused as to why the road was closed as the other vehicle involved seemed to have minimal damage and no other vehicle could be seen! Now we know why and it's a damned sad outcome, RIP to the lad, sounds like he was a goodun and my thoughts are with family and friends
 6.
DR do make an exceptionally good string. Any of the variants that use the round core feel just that little bit softer than many other strings, and just making playing fretless a touch less demanding on the aging joints in my fingers. Which variant did you opt for?
Lo Rider Nickels as recommended, cracking sound! Band were raving about my new bass, looks and sound, and the strings really complimented it. Very nice low B, plenty of punch for the rock stuff but also very nice when EQ'd for mwaah!
 7.
Depends on your playing style. But there's always the option of ground/half wounds. My BB5000F is currently strung with DR Lo-Rider Nickels. I'd previously used D'Addario Chromes, but didn't get the best out of the string or the bass with that combination.
Got some of the DRs in the end....very nice indeed!

TRB 1005 5 string fretless............picked this up last week, rehearsed it tonight for the first time, totally blown away! Fantastic bass, Mwah,rock,funk......it's got it all! Nicked pics from the Ebay ad, will post some better ones soon!
 9. Thought I could buy it but the money didnt work out, sorry to mess you around Ky, BUMP!
 10.
Chic or EW&F
+1 for Chic, I've played and loved rock all my life but also been massively into Level42 and other such stuff but to be there with Nile and the girls would be heaven!
 11.
I used La Bella deep talkin flats on a Warwick Corvette fretless and they sounded good. I put a spare set on my 1005 and they sounded really wooly and unfocussed. I put the round-wounds back on, so I don't have an answer for you, just a warning. David
Do the rounds mark the neck much?
 12. Got the above arriving soon, previous owner says the strings are a bit old so what is there to be recommended? I need some mwah but still need to rock out a bit. Do I need extra long scale strings for this bass, 35 length I believe? Cheers.

 14.
What going down with M&S ? Funkifying & Discofying up their ads with a Cheryl Lynn toon ... The music i mean.... Garry
Damn, just got in from work and need to get some zzzz and now I'm nursing a semi!
 15. Emailed band and said no long distance gig that night please, emailed work and told them not available that day............no replies yet but I'm 99% sure all will be ok! If it takes me more than 5 minutes to drive there it's a bad day! Looking forward to it, I have a Mondy estate so if anyone needs picking up locally talk to me nearer the time.
 16. Another top deal with James, him selling to me this time! Amp was in A1 condition, well packed and swiftly delivered, good contact all the time, top bloke to deal with! Cheers Mate! Col
 17.
Just mailed him - will let you know what he says. Thanks gents. I take it Repairs and Technical is not a popular hang-out?
Seems quite popular, sometimes you just need to bump your post a few times, also there's a recommended amp repairers sticky at the top of the R and T forum that might be of help.
 18.
Have you tried Steve? - highly recommended - http://www.stevesamps.co.uk/
You beat me to it! As he says!
 19.
http://www.stevesamps.co.uk/ - He's brilliant with valve amps - take chocolate hob-nobs with you.
+1 to the above. Popped down to Steve today to get my ailing Hartke looked at and whilst there he had a look at my ailing Warwick too, all sorted, will get a chance to give them a good cranking next week. Top bloke at a good price and served a monster cup/mug/flagon of tea to go with my supplied HobNobs which he was grateful for!
 20. Another top deal with Gareth......valve received, thanks mate!
 21.
Can't say as I've seen a sticky here for resources such as Amp Techs that can be vouched for, if there is please move this to there? Just had my Hiwatt 200 in to an Amp Tech that I had recommended by a local music shop. It had a constant loud background hum that I had been told online could be down to an imminent cap failure or power tube problems. I left it with the new (to me) tech who looked over it very quickly, checked it couldn't be my beloved GEC KT88s, not the caps & eventually tracked it down to a bad ground caused by something missed by the last tech to look at it. What I was dreading could have been a slightly expensive cap job, or a disastrous re-valve was fixed & covered by his standard fee for an investigation. I'm sure there are some who would have said they did more, replaced unnnecessary part etc & charged accordingly. This chap is very courteous, very prompt, knowledgable (builds his own amps too) and for me one reassurance was seeing the use of cabs & guitars to check with too & not just a multi-meter. He's also very accesible with a nearby motorway link within 5 mins of his premises. I have no hesitation in recommending DPE Services in Preston Lancashire. Tel 01772 715097, serious enquiries only naturally.
Sticky is in the Repairs and Technical Issues forum...... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=198 I'm sure a Mod will be along to move post for you.
 22.
I've a scan of a transcription of it in G, detuned 1/2 step. P.m. me if you'd like it. Also it was in a magazine many years ago (1st two verses & chorus only) in F#, i think i've a copy of that kicking around somewhere too,
Thanks Mark, all received, looks good!
 23. Gassing on this..........my local shop Andertons are doing this for £525 so a good price I reckon! Have a bump!
 24.
This is pretty good I think: http://www.bassmasta.net/a/alanis_morissette/118354.html There isn't anything difficult in there but trying to remember all the variations is a bit of challenge.
Yeah I can see a few senior moments coming on there, it's a cracking bass line but as you say the variations are the problem. Seems that after the first verse there's a different phrase between the F sharp each time. Will give a good going over, not rehearsing it yet as we have a few others to do first but hopefully this will be a goer!
 25.
I have a transcription for it somewhere. Will try and remember to scan it. It's played on a fretless stingray btw, but sounds pretty good on a fretted with healthy dose of mid-range growl.
Cool,thanks!
