Plays well and I have to say he is a stand up chap so well recommended! Not long to run so get in quick, he on the southern part of the M25 if you want to view or collect. Uk only. Cheers Colin
2. Just popped into Ripley Guitars (in Ripley, Surrey) to see if they had a 5 string set, Rotosound Swing Bass 45-130s on the shelf and I thought the label said £24.99 but on closer inspection it was £14.99!! I was expecting them to be about 25 quid. They still got about another 5 sets left so just a heads up if you're quick and in the area. Might be a mistake so they may realise and change it or maybe a genuine bargain.
3. Just a quick bump on this and to say that the poster above, Martin (the_ooob), came over for an audition with us and was great.....but he lives in Enfield and the distance would be a pain for him and us. He plays an electric kit at the moment but is probably looking to go acoustic soon. So if you're up in Norf Laandon and looking for a great rock drummer drop him a Pm. And yes, we are still looking!
4.
Hi there, I am a drummer with over 19 years experience and have been in many bands. I would very much like to come along for a jam with you guys. I am fairly fermilliar with Leatherhead as I have an office there where I work. I am really into all of the bands you mentioned and am a very solid and well established player. I would be happy to come along if you let me know the address of the rehearsal studio and times. Cheers. Martin
Have PM'd you!
5. Just watching The Dance..Fleetwood Mac purchased with zero hassle from Cliff, Cheers mate, Top Basschatter!
6. Have some recordings of a gig we did last weekend (MP3) but would like split them into individual tracks, can someone point me in the direction of some free software for this?
7. It's country band Rascal Flatts playing themselves, bass player got lightly fried and now has amnesia! Sounds like a regular night after a gig to me!
8. If there are any drummers in the Surrey (sort of Cobham/Leatherhead area) looking in for a band we need someone asap. Our current drummer has too many work/family commitments to carry on. We are Asylum Affair, a 5 piece rock covers band, girl singer, guitard, bass, keys and drums. We mainly play pubs, mostly for £200-300 although we are trying get this up a bit as we establish ourselves. We have been going for about a year and gigging for about half that. We do music from, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac,Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Heart, Chicago, Bryan Addams, Springsteen, Joplin, Sam Brown, The Who, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Boston, Patti Smith, Stereophonics, Kings of Leon, Prince, Pink Floyd.........etc. So all the popular stuff. Website is www.asylumaffair.com for MP3s, pics and gig list. Looking for someone to commit to us, we're all working etc so we are not going to make a fortune at this but it's a bit of fun and a few quid on top. Probably looking at 2-4 gigs a month. Gimme a shout if you're interested, rehearsals usually on Thursdays in Leatherhead.
9. A little bump for ya and to say it really really helps if you put pics up of what your selling! Good luck

13.
The original is an absolute classic. The Glee version is Sh*te. It's yet another example of the pop machine taking a classic tune and ruining it. Were thinking of covering it. got a female singer so range isn't an issue
Got a girly singer too so not a problem. About 6 months ago I suggested this song and it got put in the list of to-dos, then Glee came along and bang it's in. We do Alone by Heart and bugger me it turns up in Glee too! So a few weeks ago we decide to do More Than a Feeling-Boston and bugger me it turns up in an advert!! Bugger me!!

15. Man these basses fly out of here! I got one a while ago and gigged it for the first time last week, all I can say is Mwah Mwahaha!
16. LF "Hey sonny, what do ya think of ma new bass design? " BD "Not bad, but I don't think it will catch on! "
17. Trying to help a friend sell her clarinet. She's a semi-pro and knows her stuff and really looks after her instruments. Drop me a PM if you have an interest and I'll get your details to her. She's in SE London. Here's the blurb that she sent about it. "Buffet E11 Bb clarinet in excellent condition. Bought new about three years ago and used only as my spare for the last year due to an upgrade to a pro-level instrument. E11s are Buffet's intermediate level instrument (the step between student and pro instruments), and suitable for players of all levels; they're recommended for improving players by music teachers because of their easy response and accuracy, excellent intonation, light responsive keywork and lovely warm tone. Specs: * Unstained African blackwood * Silver-plated keywork * Ergonomic key design * Stainless steel springs * 17 Keys and 6 rings * Undercut toneholes * Adjustable thumbrest * Double fish skin pads Keywork is untarnished, the wood is in great condition with no cracks or chips and all the pads seal well. Plays responsively across all registers with all the usual Buffet precision. Intonation is spot on and the hard case is in much better condition than the flash on the camera would have you believe ;-) I'll throw in a box of 1.5 reeds (good for beginners), the stock Buffet mouthpiece and a new Windcraft Etude mouthpiece which is more suitable for students or players using a lower reed strength. Looking for as close to £400 as possible, but open to sensible offers."
18.
Hi there - do you remember ABC music in Addlestone ? Whatever happened to it I wonder.... Cheers, Simon
Only been in Addlestone a couple of months and in the area for about 6 years. I don't tend to do local shops much, Andertons a few times and Tony Nova. There was a little shop almost opposite the station that I kept meaning to pop in to but it disappeared last year some time. Apart from that it tends to be buy and sell on the forum. Once you pop you just can't stop!
19. Greetings from Addlestone, ex of Woking,Bisley and Maybury!!

21.
CHEERS PETE, WELCOME ON BOARD just thinking further on this. There is an issue around holding a bash local to London. The congestion charge zone. two factors spring to mind straight away. 1. Car friendly would be helpful for sure for those intending to bring equipement. Locations outside the congestion zone would help reduce cost associated with car use, which could encourage attendence. 2. As already mentioned, it would be desirable to be local to public transport, which does hint at the burbs. Leyton does fit the bill for both 1 + 2. A good start. It's early days though and other folk may have different preferences. I'm easy personally and would be happy to travel Sure there a lot more things to cover yet A big THANK YOU to everyone for the interest T
No congestion charge at weekends!
