Welcome Mal, Good to meet you last week, nice bit of Bernard you played on that MM Sub you got, you need to ditch the keys mate and get back on the bass! I'm really enjoying the Squier you sold me, can't wait to gig it, thanks! See ya soon Colin
Glad you're enjoying the bass, Col! Yes, 'tis the very same Mal here. That was one of four basses I sold in two weeks - my Washburn Status had gone at lunchtime the same day.
Hey Mal, welcome to the forum. Watch out for the GAS, it's lethal on this place! Thanks for a cracking bass.

Got an Acme cab sent out from Ben, really well packaged and delivered on time. Good to do business with! Will crank it up next week....feel the bass! Thanks Colin

Had a flying visit from James for him to pick up a couple of cabs. Thanks for braving the M25 (Herts to Surrey)on a Saturday morning. Hope the cabs are ok for you. Top bloke to deal with, good comms and a bundle of cash too! Cheers Colin
Yeah, that'll sound sweet on Tears in Heaven. I found with the treble rolled off, and picked very close to the end of the neck a passable upright tone could be had. Cheers! James
Oh yeah man, you got it! Its got a lovely sweet spot right there. Ive only put it through my Pandora so far but it still sounds great. Its got round wounds on it so if you dig in near the bridge it honks for Jaco! I'm not rehearsing the band until the new year so I might book a local room for some solo fettling as I got my Acme B2 delivered today.
Now, where have I seen one of those before - ah yes, that's right, I had one for about 0.3 seconds! Reading this makes me regret getting rid of it, but I've gotta say I'm an average fretted played at best, fretless is a step too far! Great GAS!
I saw your one go up but I was about 2 days away from some money coming in and never imagined that the one on local gumtree would still be around. To be honest we only have 3/4 songs for it but we may do Tears in Heaven by Clapton and that song crys out for it. Ive just got to do it justice though
Prepare to be severely punished boy! Nice one Kol! These are superb basses, the ebonol board does the biz - honk and much mwah! Ciao! Nick O Twa nkey!
Punish me Big Boy!! Great little bass and at a great price to. Just got to set up some nice sounds on my pedal, chorus octave etc and I'm well away. Hows that Jaydee coming along? Looking forward to seeing the end result. KOL

Got a single speaker solution on the way so have to get rid of these bad boys. You probably know the specs, 300watt and 8 ohms each so plenty of balls. I got these from Monz at last years Guildford Bass Bash for a very keen price and I'm pricing these to sell. Now the tweeter on the 2x10 started to crackle a bit so I removed it. I'm hoping to sell both together and it's definitely going to be a collection job. Bearing in mind I only paid a ton for these and the tweeter is out I'm thinking £90 for the pair collected would seem a good price. They are in storage at the moment (Big Yellow) so a definite time would have to be arranged and I'm not sure whether I can plug them in there so they would probably have to be sold unheard as I don't have any playing space where I live (thank feck for Pandora). Both are in good working condition, just a little cat rash on the carpet covering! Located in Addlestone, Surrey.

So usually when you spot something that seems to be popular you pop a post in the spotted forum. So when I saw the Jazz in my local Gumtree I was just about to post when that little devil popped up on my shoulder and reminded me that I had some money coming in a few weeks and if I kept schtum it might still be around. Could I live with the guilt? Course I bloody could!! So I popped over to Cobham tonight and got the baby from a really nice guy called Mal (a friend of Cetera it turns out) for a very keen price and here she is.........
You would need to stretch your budget, but a s/h Epifani UL310 is a great one cab solution. Really punchy and a one hand carry. Not quite 4ohm but not far off.
Hmm, yeah looking at £500+ by the looks of it. Bit of a stretch. GAS is a bad thing. Looking at a diary load of gigs coming in for next year so need to lighten things up. Reviews say its the dogs doodaas!

Just a thought, would this be thread be better in the Lightweight Cabs section? Mods?
-
You could just change the speaker in the MAG cabinet. Those celestion Neos are supposed to be VERY good!
Does that lessen the weight much?
-
I'm currently running the rig below in my profile. I mainly just use the 1x15 on it's own and it stands up well against my band. Now, if I was to get say £300 together what options would I have in the lightweight 4 ohm cab range? I like the bottom end of the 15 but still need a bit of punch ( which the Ashdown has) so I'm also not sure what speaker configuration would still give me that sound if not using a 15. ETA... as the description above says.......lightweight! The old back don't get any better. Am I being a bit optimistic pricewise?

Ah memories! Went in there, earlyish 90s with a couple of hundred quid looking for a cab and when I mentioned being a Level 42 fan had a £4k ( I think, well it felt like £4k) MK Alembic thrust at me despite me saying I couldn't afford one!
