I pulled the trigger on one that's for sale here on the forum, made a deal to pay and have it transported when the money train arrives in two weeks time (and arrive it will). You see these for sale from time to time, price ranging so far between 2300 euro up to 3k for really nice ones. Now I don't know a lot about the series so went digging around on the world wide web and found ... contradicting stories on forums. What a surprise! Some say these weren't built by Fodera at all, some say the parts were sawn in Japan and the basses assembled and set up in Brooklyn where all the Foderas are made. There's also those who say they were built in series of the exact same woods and configuration to keep costs low, in Brooklyn. Have you heard of the wayback machine? It is a website that archives pretty much all of the internet. On there, while scourging through many incarnations of www.fodera.com throughout the years I found this information in the 2009 and 2010 versions of the Fodera website: Nice find, no? In 2011 they were gone from the site and replaced by the Standard series. Apparently there was a Deluxe series and a Standard series. The info from Fodera's own website tells us these were made from woods that were selected from their own aged stock. Does this rule out the Japan story? There was also a 24 fret model, but not much more was mentioned on the versions of the website crawled. Has anyone got the full story on the N.Y.C. series? Thanks for any extra info!

The new Chinese express models are a lot more affordable by the looks of it? Seems to be in the Sire territory market here. Still has that Sadowsky pre though, I don't know about the pickups.

The Marcus Miller is no longer just that. Its neck had developed a serious warping problem which made the B and E strings unplayable (3+mm action). So erm... Here's what happened next. When soloing the bridge pickup, and boosting the active lows a little ... bliss!

What I gathered (being a bit of a Warwick nut) is that this: There still will be custom shop models made by Roger in the US. The whole reason for moving the larger market production and associated business related work and administration has been taking the fun out of it for him and he wants to focus more on building fantastic instruments rather then running a business. Warwick will make custom models too in their custom shop. Metro will be like their "teambuilt" Warwicks and built in Germany, just not everything is done inside Warwick HQ. The Metro express production will be moved to China. Correct my if I am wrong but this means Sadowsky and Warwick lines will be rather parallel as their rockbass series is also produced in China.

The NYC satin series are pretty affordable it seems, and 3.75kg for a five string is pretty light. I must say however I do not care that much about weight as long as it stays under 5kg. Maybe my focus should be on the Metro series instead so I can keep some more money in my pocket. Thanks!

I noticed this NYC deluxe satin 5 for sale for about 3400 euro. Somehow that bass attracted my attention pretty heavily in the past couple of days.

Hi guys/gals, Being heavily into Warwick and Zon basses I haven't payed much attention to Sadowsky until recently. I am looking at them (in particular at high quality 5 string ones) in the for sale section on here and sites like Zikinf etc. What I noticed is the series goes down from NYC to Metro to Metro express. Am I right in deducting the Metro series are from Japan and their serials start with M...? Also, I noticed on the NYC there's logo's with and without the word "Guitars" between Sadowsky and NYC. What is the reason for this? What are the main quality differences between NYC and Metro models, according to players? Thanks for any helpful comments!

Brilliant sounding amps. Clean but with a low end texture so thick and tight you can taste the sound. Mine needs a little bit of TLC, it blew out its 10A fuse twice this month - my tubes have been in there since 1992 I believe. Still worth carrying the extra weight. Once you played through this you know all class D amps are toys. -
The combination and design of body woods does not seem Warwick like. I think the original body was messed up by someone who wanted different or extra pickups and they 'solved' it by creating a new body using different woodtypes. They did a lousy job as well, the maple veneers look crude and clumsy. The only Warwick parts in there are the neck and hardware.

JAZZ you said? The black used to be a Fender Marcus Miller V usa - but its neck warped so bad I had it replaced with this custom fretless neck. The other is 100% Vincent Guitars and my own design (woodtypes, pickup config, electronics wiring). I had already posted that one elsewhere on this forum I believe.
