Kev , Had to say how bloomin marvellous " Mr Moffatt ! was .. awesome picky , wonky, slidy, bass ...harmonic laden lusciousness ... ! Seriously great sounding bass too .. You and Alan created something pretty unique with the piezo placed there too there i think .. makes an ol stump fan very happy indeed ! Great thread btw .. ta muchly for the tour ! Gary v8

Maybe try a Bass to MIDI convertor such as the Sonuus B2m ( there may be one in the misc for sale section somewhere ... ) Hook it up to a cheap synth module Roland Korg Emu etc or even virtual soft synth via laptop ....I had a dog and his name was ...... Bingo ... Apologies for the shameless advertising however could be done pretty cost effectively .. Gary v8

Only envy !.... Was ogling on Alans site yesterday ... Ive been waiting to see the Gallas unfold ..thought it would stay on the shelf long enough for me to offer to take it off Alans hands ..lol Damned fine choice sir !! and my favourite ACG Body shape and build to date Looks utterly superb , That Top is deliciously Chocolatey , Great choice in the fingeboard / neck woods and the headstock shape is perfect Amber LED s , nice touch ...and with the 01 thats going to be sounding marvellous .
Gary! Absolutely identical to my mates that I had! He ended up Ebaying it btw, and got quite a large figure!! Stunning bass, this one looks better than his! Lush!
Thanks Matt ! ( Hoping Kens Working Out ! ) The Ebay route has allways proved a pain for higher priced items for me , tyre kickers , hagglers etc .. BC and BW before have allways proved to be the best most honest and succesful route of buying and selling . There were at least a couple of Sunburst Pro 11 s kicking around for an age at more money ... Glad your mate got a good deal btw ... I used that pricing as an indicative ..but had my own figure in mind also Possibly an idea at some stage to hook up a buying guide and maybe a secondhand bass sticky for valuations and assessments , any thoughts ? Thanks for many positive comments btw Gary v8 will close the thread shortly and not hog up the FS

Bought to pair up with my Fretless BQuad4 ... ON HOLD PENDING >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I love these basses .... But evertime I play it it gives me a rash , possibly down to the fretting or metals used in the construction ...so im kicking it out ! My apologies to the other seller also as i had intended to post this morning too A quick review here ..http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=1988&type=bass and the destructions here ...http://music.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/peavey_electronics/bquad_4.html Mine is no show pony but it all works ..if you want perfect look away now ! Beautiful Aqua / Teal with figured maple top .. Modulus graphite neck , phenolic fingerboard ... piezo bridge stereo outputs .. weighing in at a mere 8 and one half UK pounds light to medium with access all the way to the upper frets which dislike me so much The body has plenty of belt buckle digging and a few knock dings dents but hey thats what there meant for ! neck is straight and true not a dead spot on it and the fretting is good Ive shimmed the neck to get the action low but can be easily removed should higher action be required Tonally these are very capable basses and surprise the heck out of most people who hear it Peavey Have / Had the ability to make outstanding product ...and heres the moneyshots Mrs V8 s favourite bass cos of the colour , but Im ruthless ....comes with OHSC Any further info a pleasure of course Oh price ? ...£575 delivered tracked insured Gary V8

another of the stable to hit the BC For Sale Column ... On HOLD PENDING >>>>>>>> Q. Why am I even thinking of selling ! ? A. Because I want another Wal ! ....simples ... A very early Pro 11 passive ( very early serial no ) In 3T burst with lovely patina and IMHO a very special bass and my main playing 4 string bass Totally original as far as i can see and tell with wear and tear commensurate with age ( bought from the original owner ) There is some crazing and lacquer checking andyes there are a few knocks and marks here and there including belt buckle etc but nothing to take away from the beautiful looks and playability , add to that collectibilty and rarity too Set up for a medium low action wearing 35 - 95 roundwounds but also sounds incredible with flats Weighing in at 10 and a half pounds with a 43 mm nut and a 19 mm spacing at the bridge Ash body seems to be 2 piece and the neck is the 10 piece graphite reinforced Laminate of Hornbeam Maple and Mukalungu with a fretboard fingerboard touchboard of rosewood All electronics work perfectly ( original Radiohms and caps ) although I havent checked the DI output recently ( will confirm later ) and believe it was checked over a few years ago and prounounced good to go by Pete Stevens Tonally amazing for a passive bass A few specs here ....http://www.trevorandthea.eclipse.co.uk/specs1.html ....and gratitude for the links and info via that site that helped me make up my mind about buying this one .. A few pics to whet the whistle .. Will come with a huge CP Rainbow semi flightcase ,custom shaped foam insert for the bass not the original brown broken handle non locking catches type As this may be pulled when i come to my senses ..or find enough change down the back of the settee .. The price including delivery is £1550 ( fairly strong money I agree but offers will of course be considered ) Any more pics and info can be supplied to any interested party and test drives a pleasure Regards Gary v8 ON HOLD PENDING .........

Thanks for some great history on this guys and obviously generates lots of interest ..begs the question why do we move it on ! ? Is there a keeper bass out there ? ..... i wonder If it was original it would pull bigger money but for buttons you get it all here . I will be genwinely miserable when it goes but Ill find a good way of filling the space Just hit the scales and weighs in at either 10lbs or 10lbs and a penny over in old sweeties terms nut width is indeed 44mm and spacing is at 15 mm at the bridge Oh and yes its Made In Japan although Yamaha s dating checker doesnt list and 86 is about right Better pics will follow shortly Gary v8

Constant GAS and far too many basses so another one to the For Sale section .. Please note .... I will be away form the 25th May- 2 June ...... Just in case you ( yes you ) are thinking of giving me a large wad of cash for this stunna !! Ill return all PMs on return ! Was originally a Passive BB Thru Neck BB5000 ( thinnest neck 5 string I have ever seen let alone played ) sounds monstrous looks awesome plays Beautifully Previously owned by Greeneking and Shockwave , see previous threads via search and see what they had to say Will rock your 5 string world .. Ive rewired it a couple of times ( ACG 02 and a passive Vol Vol Tone Tone ) but it sounds best ( to my ears ) with the as supplied to me 18 volt Fender system ( Vol , Pan , Bass , Mid , Treble ) Action is unbelievable sound is MASSIVE , huge PBass and J bass tones , of course spacing is tight if youre coming from wide spaced 5 but glorious when you get used to it Dates to 1986 or thereabouts a few dinks and a light tarnish of the hardware but all round awesomeness .. Supplied in OHSC Pics ? Pricing is tough but Basschatters Delivered £550 insured Mainland UK no offers unfortunately Test drives of course welcomed if youre near ! Blimey .. i had my fingers crossed that youd found the holy grail .... not a diy job i guess but im sure you can throw a different value pot in or add a resistor to tune your freq band a little ( no warranty worries anyway ) Maybe Dave Hall can advise ? SO close yet .. oh so far Agreed .. patching the raffle prize in front of the monolith isnt ideal oh and what cables / connectors are you using , they can be tone(Rob)bers . geddit ?? Or just buy another monster amp or 2 lol Gary v8
Put me on the maybe pile, I can bring some gear too if you want. I have :- 1972 Gibson Grabber Jap non-export 60s Reissue Jazz with Shed pickups a badass and a terrible home relic effort. Peavey T-40 (Peavey's first effort of mass production bass, Two phat old humbuckers, ash body with maple neck, coil tap, heavey weight but interesting, the neck was made on a machine designed for making Rifle butts ) Fender mongrel P-bass (US body with mex neck, custom powder blue finish, Delano pickup, straight through wireing) may have an Aria Pro II SB II Elite by then too. Ampeg SVT Classic Ampeg SVT 8x10 E Sans-amp programmable BDDI I like to show off, I know its nothing particularly special but I do love my basses.
Def need to see the " Grabber " oh and the T40 oh and if that Arias the white one then thats gotta be there ! SVT and 8x10 you say ??? in fact get a van and bring it all !! Yum Gary v8

mine comes with a non working reverb ! a 50rv i think and played heartily for a good few years with a guitar and a or vox mic too the channels can be de resistored ( is that a word ? ) to give 2 similar inputs if needed Not a bad sound at all and built until 79 or so ( when of course we all wanted mosfet ) £350 a little steep for my taste ( mines currently under offer for a ton less ) a good meaty tone through 12 s and 15 s but lacking a mid for use thru my 10 s live mic can be problematic in many instances so DI is de rigeur all round decent tone but maybe lacking in a few areas and like an old motor or house might allways need some fettling Gary v8
