1.
Difficult to describe. They play like any other Status, fast & lithe, but soundwise, they're like a more woody version, if that makes any sense? They still have some of the graphite growl as they have the graphite rods through the neck.
Cheers, that's helped a lot. The thing is I won't be able to try the bass before I trade it so i'm going in for it a bit blind. I will probably go ahead with the trade as i'm interested to expand my experience with different basses. Thanks again for your help.
2. Hi guys, i've been offered a Status Shark in a trade, the single chrome pickup model, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with one. I'm not really concerned about value or condition, I was just wondering if anyone could describe the tone. I've seen one described as sounding like a musicman, is this true? Does anyone have any videos/soundclips? Thanks, Mat
3. I'm open to trades or part exchanges. Would love a part exchange on a musicman (possibly a SUB), status or fender but all offers on other basses will be considered. If anyone has anything please give me a shout. Thanks, Mat
4. Wow, that's one hell of a sexy P Bass and a great price too. Black on black with maple is definately the best combo for a precision. Sadly I can't afford it cos I just bought a new bass. Have a Bump.
5.
offers around £900
The website says "The Old Friend Contour Basses are designed to give you that vintage look, feel and sound without paying an arm and a leg." Sadly my arms and legs are only worth £500 tops... oh well, good luck with the sale.
6. *UPDATE* Paypal, cash or cheque accepted.
7.
Mate, you didn't reply to my PM.
Sorry, PM replied.
8. That would be beautiful with a white or clear pickguard. I might be interested, the thing is i'm trying to buy a ray off my mate but he doesn't want to sell until he's found a bass to replace it. If he doesn't come up with it soon I might have to make you an offer .
9. I seem to have got a mix of positive and negative response. All positve about the bass but 2 out of 3 negative on the price. If anyone is interested PM me, i'm willing to take offers.
10. Back up for sale, buyer had problems with payment.
11.
these basses are great. cort art often overlooked IMO. i think your price might be a bit high. i used to own a funkmachine 2 aswell, except mine had the small tm signature on the top horn of the body. i put it on the bassworld forum(as it was known then)£280, and still nobody wanted it. it was on for months before i decided to keep it.
Yeah, Cort do make great basses. And considering these retail at £800-900 (cant remember exact RRP) I think £500 is a fair price. I'm open to trades aswell.
12. Cort Funk Machine II It's a killer bass with built in funk wah and slap depth switches. It has two bartolini Mk 1 pups and bartolini Mk 2 preamp. (full spec here) Really offers a wide range of tones, I can sit there for hours just discovering new sounds. My reason for selling/trading is just so I can try something new, i've had this bass almost a year now. Looking for £500 but i'm open to offers. Will do part exchanges for musicmans, status or fenders.
13. This been sold yet? I've been interested in this for a while but sadly don't have a car to trade... ...will money do?
14. Trade for a Cort Funk Machine II? It's a killer bass with built in funk wah and slap depth switches. It has two bartolini Mk 1 pups and bartolini preamp. Really offers a wide range of tones, I can sit there for hours just discovering new sounds. My reason for trading is just so I can try something new, i've had this bass about a year now. May be able to put a little cash in with the bass.
15.
This is very tempting! Quick question though, can you put an ordinary jazz control plate and pickguard on it or not? I dont like the huge black pickguard on there.
To answer your question simply, no.
16. If I wasn't gunning for a stingray at the moment i'd snap this up in a second. Have a bump for a great bass.
