It's not about the width at the neck, it's more about the circumference. The BB2024 is quite deep and is as much of a handful as my Valenti which is 44mm wide but the circumference is the same and consequently the string spacing is a bit different.

Hi folks I have a Kent Armstrong J Bass bridge pickup for sale. This is the JVB1 model and it's like an overwound vintage. Very nice pickup and very very similar in sound to an overwound Fralin or the Wizard '74s. I also have a really decent generic neck pickup to pair with it that will be included, it's nice and hot and growly. £35 posted the pair.

Hi folks, I have a black Matamp 2x12 for sale. It has the salt/pepper cloth cover and Matamp logos. This has Eminence 12" Delta Pro drivers (£90 each) in it that are not yet run in and have only about 3 hours playing on them. These are serious high end drivers and can handle huge power from big power amps or any of the monster all valve amps that some of us love so much. Cab now rated at 800w. The secs of the drivers can be found here. This sealed cab has awesome power handling capability and has a classic tone to it, all in a relatively compact size. Build quality is absolutely superb and it comes with a Roqsolid custom made cover (£50). So there we have it, bomb-proof Matamp marine ply build, as good as new top of the range drivers, fitted padded cover. Serious quality piece of kit and it's British except for the drivers which are US made Photos tomorrow. It's 4 ohm and is switchable to 16 ohm. It's about 30 kg. Collection from Gloucester or Cheltenham preferred but I can meet up at a reasonable distance away. I might be interested in a trade for a bass - 4-string traditional-style like US MM Sub, Korean ATK, Peavey T-40, Something Japanese etc. depends on what it is and whimsical I feel at the time.

Nice deal with Mick. Another proper Basschatter that makes this forum so good.

Nice and easy deal with prompt communication. Another great Basschat deal.

The Winery Dogs. I absolutely love Ritchie Kotzen, he's so good.

I use a 400+ with a BT2 and it's great. The BT2 just throws the might of the amp out there. Louder than you would ever need and nowhere near the capability limits of the cab
If you don't like the price, you don't have to buy. What's so complicated about that?
It's not the price I was questioning just the wording and what it means.

I have a set of lightly used Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats Strings 5 String set .043, .056, .070, .100, .130 These are 34" scale and uncut as far as I can make out. I've had them for a few years and they lived on bass that I didn't play very often so they're probably not even properly "run in". Best part of £70 new. £25 posted UK (Unless you're Highlands/Islands in which case it'll probably mean an extra quid or so)
Why did they stop producing them?
Weird Darwinian thing happened. Bass players evolved into pussies and wanted lightweight gear. Fortunately there were a few of us who were isolated from the main population and evolved in our way and have a flight or fight response when we see solid state amps or hybrids. The graphic is good however once you get your head around the fact that Bass=3, Mid =10, Treble = 3 is about flat the knobs are just as useful. The 400+ is one of 3 amps modelled as standard options in Logic Pro X, the others being the SVT and B15 flip top. That's all you ever need really. I love the 400+ I have, it's one of the best products I've ever owned.

Prices do seem very low on BC at the moment. Some of the EBMM prices have dropped to all time lows. I can understand people wanting to get as much as they can but after fees, PayPal and other hassles i still find BC a better experience for selling than Gumtree or eBay.

That's what I thought but it smells a bit like sofa sales on TV. There was something for sale on here earlier this year that had the price lowered for the weekend only. If I'd have offered that price at 8am on the Monday morning would I have been too late?
-
I see that there is an increasing trend to put "final price drop" on For Sale ads on the forum. Does that mean that the seller won't take anything lower? If so, will it be withdrawn within a certain timeframe? Does it get pulled and stuck on eBay? I know the market is challenging at the moment but what does this message mean, really?

I've had my BB2025x for four and a half years. It's absolutely stonking. If I'm absolutely honest it sounds better my BB2024x, I think the extra mass of neck and pickups contributes to that, it really is a brutal rock machine. B string is up there with Sadowsky.

This is a pre-amp from a 3-knob Spector. I don't know a lot about it except that it's got the quick connectors for EMG pickups and I remember it being really hot and "good for metal". It could easily be adapted for use with conventional pickups. £45 plus postage. EDIT: I have the original black plastic Spector stack knobs but do not have the single ones.
