Comes with mains lead. No manual or box. Very good condition. £8 posted mainland UK.
2. It's unused and had has 19mm spacing and retrofits in standard Yamaha or Fender screw holes. High mass and very good quality, other than having no logo, I can't tell the difference between this one and my Gotoh on my Stoker P/MM. 3. These wireless systems are fantastic. I've used this kind for a few years and they are super robust, easy to use and work beautifully. It's a good saving over a new one too. Good luck with the sale.
4. I'm about to start gigging regularly with my Mesa Boogie 400+ and I was wondering what spares should I carry? I'd be interested to hear from any users of big valve amps what they carry as spares. I already carry a good DI but should I carry an array of valves too?
5. I'm selling my EBS Multi-Comp. It's a fabulous compressor that I just don't use much so here it is. Massive saving of £50 over a new one. Does not come with original box or manual although it is in excellent condition. Price includes shipping to Mainland UK. 6. Carol Kaye always encouraged students to stay away from learning scales by rote and instead heavily encouraged (is she dead? I'm referring to her in the past tense and sounds natural) learning arpeggios. She also discouraged using major thirds and claimed to have played all the major Motown bass lines so you have to be careful with anything she says. Very generous with her time though. I learned scales on guitar. I learned arpeggios on bass and find them to be infinitely useful. I'm off now - I'm just not into posting on Basschat like I used to be.
7. Like a lot folk that have already posted, a BB2024x and a probably a BB2025x. Unbeatable instruments to my taste. I'd also like a Skuker lightweight JJB signature.
8. Another easy deal with Simon. Many thanks for a great swap!
9. I've got 3 new sets of Status double ball end, roundwound strings 40-100. £30 posted in the UK for all three
10. Boxed as new BT1. I don't think I've ever installed it. Just found it in a cupboard while having a clearout. Add £5 for UK postage. Add fee if paying Paypal. Bank Transfer preferred. Check out my feedback. If anyone wants a straight trade for a BT2 then I'm up for it. Many thanks Sean
11. Bump! Footswitch now included in asking price.
12. Lovely job! That gives me loads of ideas. Can't Get Enough by Bad Company is a goer so is Learn to Fly and Ever Fallen in Love - my guitar-playing alter ego sung those in the past
13. My band currently has no singer so we're writing a set list based around songs that I can sing whilst playing. I'm looking for some suggestions for some covers that have simple bass parts, sound OK with just guitar, bass and drums and that people at a chilled out non-cheesy wedding would enjoy. We've got some Chilis, Tom Petty, Beatles sorted, what else could we do??? Help!
14. I'm selling my pedal train 2. It holds tons of pedals and is a really lightweight solution for holding all your effects. All zips work perfectly. £50 Collected from Gloucester Add £10 postage UK Mainland
15. Hi Glen It's 2008! Regards Sean
16.
Anyone think Yamaha should've reserved the pickups & bridge for the 20 basses rather than fitting the same to both 10 & 20. I'm sure this discussion wouldn't be happening if the weren't so similar.
See revised quote below...
It's not quite as simple as that, so I'll elaborate and clarify. Pickups aside. The 2000s are luthier made in a workshop in small numbers to extremely high quality standards by highly skilled craftsmen and take many more man hours to complete. The 1000s, although extremely well finished, are factory made using mass production techniques and do not have the attention to detail throughout the process that the 2000s do. The resulting products differ massively in feel and playability to a discerning player. The difference between the two is significant and can be compared to the difference between a Standard US Fender and a Master Built Custom Shop Fender.
The pickups are pretty special but to not make them available in the factory-made instruments seems daft, it's like Fender putting generic pickups in the Mexican Roger Waters P-bass model instead of the SD Quarter Pounder.
17.
Hmmmmm...ARE sounds a bit like "bollocky" gimic talk to me. Is it worth paying an extra grand for your average Joe Soap, even if it does play and sound a bit better? Just wondering.
See below...
