After having serious cravings for a nice piece of graphite, I recently bought a Status Streamline from Hans, who didn't have any BC history but it was easy to establish that guy was totally straight up and exactly the sort of Basschatter anyone wants to deal with. I've had some easy and slick transactions but this one was amazing considering the international bank transfer, international shipping etc. Hans packed the bass like I've not seen before; it was like it was ready for nuclear war! It took me a while to unwrap . The parcel delivery was super-fast, he posted it on a Monday from the Netherlands and it arrived with me on the Wednesday - 48 hours door to door can't be bad. Seriously good levels of communication; daily email contact to update me on every step of the process including a nice graphic showing how the bass would be packed. The instrument itself? Well, that's immaculate and came with a boat load of strings and a pristine Ritter gig bag. Top bloke, top basschatter! I know we don't score but this was a 10/10.

I'd agree with the comments about arrangements. I play in three piece and love it, when choosing songs that have keys parts or second guitar parts I look to YouTube for solo acoustic Guitar performances for inspiration for arrangements. We did Drops of Jupiter by Train so to start I found an acoustic guitar arrangement and composed a bass line of my own for it, the guitarist adapted the acoustic guitar part for electric and it sounded great. Our next challenge is to do ELO's Mr Blue Sky.
Plus I find this particular J pickup almost useless, as I usually only use either pickup soloed on my basses, don't find myself blending them too often. I do miss having a nice sounding, silent (hum-wise) bridge pickup though.
Sounds to me like there's an issue with that J pickup, they should be really stonking, mine is. If you look under the review section of this forum, you'll see the replacement bridge I put on mine - click the link in my sig.

Feeling your pain. That's absolutely vile, gives me that horrible feeling in my gut :-( Fingers crossed that the gear turns up.

Looks like a life laundry situation. -
Are they "Special" in the politically correct sense of the word? It looks like they are to me.

Sean replied to Lozz196's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Why is it under the heading 'Enterprise routers' instead of Bassguitars? As is his other Stingray. Very curious?
Roundwound strings are the most commonly used strings for bass, and 45-105 (or thereabouts) is a good starting point. If budget is an issue the Legacy strings are supposed to be decent - http://www.stringsdi...s_guitar/legacy
Legacy are Rotosound Rotobass repackaged. Very good value for money at £7.95 a set.

Try one of the Yamaha BB424s currently in the for sale forum. They're both stonking and around half what they cost new. Very versatile, top build quality, great workhorses. Also, buying used from Basschat can't be beat.

The SR1300 Custom Shop I sold recently is amazing. Saying that it was seriously modified. Neck just a bit too slim for me though.

Fender P-Bass Special FSR Seafoam Green in Merchant City Music
Sean replied to merello's topic in Bass Guitars
Seafoam green is my favourite colour (I don't own one), I love Precisions (I don't own one), I love black blocks on maple (don't own one), I love the P/J config too but this just doesn't work for me. I'm guessing that it's MIM? -
Best way to find out is play one and decide whether it's worth the extra. I have a 2024x and it is a truly wonderful instrument
^ this
