I have a set of lightly used Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats Strings 5 String set .043, .056, .070, .100, .130 These are 34" scale and uncut as far as I can make out. I've had them for a few years and they lived on bass that I didn't play very often so they're probably not even properly "run in". Best part of £70 new. £25 posted UK (Unless you're Highlands/Islands in which case it'll probably mean an extra quid or so)
Why did they stop producing them?
Weird Darwinian thing happened. Bass players evolved into pussies and wanted lightweight gear. Fortunately there were a few of us who were isolated from the main population and evolved in our way and have a flight or fight response when we see solid state amps or hybrids. The graphic is good however once you get your head around the fact that Bass=3, Mid =10, Treble = 3 is about flat the knobs are just as useful. The 400+ is one of 3 amps modelled as standard options in Logic Pro X, the others being the SVT and B15 flip top. That's all you ever need really. I love the 400+ I have, it's one of the best products I've ever owned.

Prices do seem very low on BC at the moment. Some of the EBMM prices have dropped to all time lows. I can understand people wanting to get as much as they can but after fees, PayPal and other hassles i still find BC a better experience for selling than Gumtree or eBay.

That's what I thought but it smells a bit like sofa sales on TV. There was something for sale on here earlier this year that had the price lowered for the weekend only. If I'd have offered that price at 8am on the Monday morning would I have been too late?
-
I see that there is an increasing trend to put "final price drop" on For Sale ads on the forum. Does that mean that the seller won't take anything lower? If so, will it be withdrawn within a certain timeframe? Does it get pulled and stuck on eBay? I know the market is challenging at the moment but what does this message mean, really?

I've had my BB2025x for four and a half years. It's absolutely stonking. If I'm absolutely honest it sounds better my BB2024x, I think the extra mass of neck and pickups contributes to that, it really is a brutal rock machine. B string is up there with Sadowsky.

This is a pre-amp from a 3-knob Spector. I don't know a lot about it except that it's got the quick connectors for EMG pickups and I remember it being really hot and "good for metal". It could easily be adapted for use with conventional pickups. £45 plus postage. EDIT: I have the original black plastic Spector stack knobs but do not have the single ones.

To Pedalsnake or not to Pedalsnake; that is the question?

I've got one. It's fantastic. Without it my board would look like a student's bedroom. -
Set of original Wizard Thumpers for P-Bass, they no longer make these bad boys. This is my Jazz doing the sound Jazz basses do best http://soundcloud.com/belowtheghost/rebel-bass-drums/s-oaRVd This my P doing something that only a P can do (Valenti with J rolled off completely) http://soundcloud.com/belowtheghost/kenneth/s-LPvG5 A PJ combination is a different animal altogether rather than a hybrid or best of both worlds as is evident here (BB2024x) http://soundcloud.com/belowtheghost/harder-we-try-110814-novox/s-fsk68
I've always been a Jazz fan, and I've replaced the neck pickup volume control with a pull switch pot in the electronics on the so that when you pull it out it puts the two pickups on together in series giving you a big P bass sound. Two in one, as it were - excellent. http://www.guitar-mod.com/wiring/j_series.gif
Fire up the soldering iron, Bolly Knickers!

Are they going to do the same for the DJs?
The 55-02 is the budget version of the usa built 55-94, these new models are the same as a 55-94 but just a more limited range of finishes, other than that they are a £3.5k bass for £2.3k.
Interesting value proposition. Good on 'em. Bringing the USA Laklands within reach of the £2k budget is a significant move.

It's a 55-02 by a new name, surely?
I've got one of Martin's guitar amp. (Bantam head and 1x12), I went for burgundy snakeskin. They are great sounding amps and well built too. I saw that he was in the process of your amp Sean. Glad to see it's someone from here that commissioned it. I look forward to seeing the finished amp.
I don't think I've ever been as excited about any new toy! Martin's a great guy to deal with too, he's so passionate and unbelievably patient with me trying to explain what I want in a pre-amp section. I'm looking forward to doing a thread on it when it's done, I've already got a photographer lined up for the shoot.
