Please could someone help me identify the date of manufacture for this Legend Classic 4 serial number W170329 ?
Legends are out of my wheelhouse (as corporate types say) but someone who knows will be along soon enough.
W is the Korean factory that has always made them. I know that.
I would then guess it's 2017 and the 329th of that year. But that is just a guess. Wait for someone who knows.

Here’s a question that probably fits better here than opening a new thread.
I can’t be bothered to take one off and weigh it at the moment, so I thought I’d ask. What’s the weight difference between the older Spector Euro bridges and the new light ones that are apparently <200g?
In the words of Col Bill Kilgore, "Get your boys back, it's going to be a big one..."

I shall probably regret selling this but I'm operating on a "one in, one out" basis.
It's an extremely good Jazz bass, full stop. The neck is slim and fast. Nicely finished and an absolute pleasure to play. I had flats on it for a while and it punches so far above its price point.
It's got new (Sun 6th Apr) Legacy (Rotosound) Nickel 45-105 strings.
It's been set up to Fender J specs (Sun 6th Apr).
It's had the fingerboard done with Montypresso.
It's got a high mass bridge (original BBOT bridge included).
The cavities have been copper lined.
4.2kg
I've got all the proper packaging so can ship at cost.
If you want to try it, it's in Gloucester.

Jeez. I would never have guessed it would be that much difference! That could mean the difference between selling and not selling a bass if the buyer is tight and insists on say, <4kg. 4.2 becomes 3.95.
I've just realised that there's maths, stats or some kind of numerical analysis in about 34.65% of my posts.

Reality check....is it really going to save the venue?
If it's genuinely due to increasing costs and declining numbers it's not going to save it.
One single gig where they've saved a few hundred quid by getting a freebie is not going to turn a venue around.
Morally it's nice to be able to pay something back if it's to help a genuine venue but it's unlikely to stave off the inevitable
@Mudpup you saved me half a post 😀. I’d be asking them what their plan was after the event and for the future and how this gig is going to do the trick. In a business plan to save the venue this gig would (in my mind) be part of a greater plan. If it’s meant to re-establish the venue and make it a draw for audiences in the future, then how? What’s the plan for the next three months?

Turnaround for the pair was 1 week and they were under £100 with postage.
That's cracking value and similar to Toltec. I was quoted more than double that (£240) for a pair with customisation from a well-known UK maker. I needed 2 pairs of Js made up as humbuckers and it's the difference between £200 and £480 for total job of 4 coils. And because I'm familiar with Toltec and not with the other more expensive one, it's a no-brainer.

Shouldn't this be in Off Topic?
I don't go in that forum for some good reasons.
Can we get this moved, please?

I know and chap who was in a UFO tribute act.

Does it count if you buy the exact same bass you regretted selling 4 years ago?
It's rare, collectable, 40 years old... Surely that's out of scope?

Toltec pickups from Leeds. They're from Laverack guitars. Lee is very helpful and makes a cracking pickup at very competitive prices. His J and P pickups are fantastic.

This is going to missed. It’s had a few Basschat owners and I’ve had it about 18 months. It’s an absolute peach but an incoming bass means this has to go. I’ve sanded the neck up to #2000 grit and treated with Montypresso so it’s like glass, it’s slippery.
The body is Mahogany and Poplar, the fingerboard is Panga Panga.
Cursive/italics is a cut and paste from previous ads.
This is a really special bass, so versatile. Definitely not just a metal bass, it can do it all. Neck is lovely to play, body is nice and comfortable and it balances great on a strap.
Condition is excellent. A couple of headstock dints.
This one has the Twilight finish with some lovely grain poplar burl.
Stock Ibanez preamp and its seriously average Chinese licensed Bartolini BH2 pickups were removed and replaced with US Classic Bass Soapbars and a 3 band Bartolini HR-5.2AP/918 preamp. Configuration has changed from stock to make this the ultimate tone machine and works as follows:-
- Volume - Push Pull Active/Passive
- Blend
- Treble
- Mids - Push Pull Frequency Selector
- Bass
- Toggle Switch 1 - Series/Coil Tap/Parallel Bridge Pickup
- Toggle Switch 2 - Series/Coil Tap/Parallel Neck Pickup
- If you've played a stock SRMS805 before, this one will play the same but tonally it really is an entirely different animal. Its fantastic and the array of different tones you can get from all the different coil arrangements is wonderful.
It’s about 3.8kg
I’ve got proper packaging so if you’d like it posted I can do that for whatever the cost is. I’m in Gloucester if you want to try it through a Mesa or GK amp with BF cab or bring your own. I urge anyone even remotely interested to try one of these.

Would you be interested in a trade for a TC BH800 tone print? It’s great but overkill for my needs and that nano would fit in my gig bag.
No, thanks. I’m looking to reduce the number of amps in the collection.

Just bought a little FX unit from Steve. Cracking chap to deal with as we all know.

Surplus to requirements, this brilliant little amp is looking for a new home. It’s been gigged once for about half an hour through a BF TWO10. It’s had some very recent home use but other than that it’s been in a gig bag the whole time I’ve had it. This used to come to gigs with me in the car as emergency backup for the big valve monsters in case they went pop. As most of you know, this is as serious gigging amp that can drive a 410 at volumes way higher than most of use. For 2x10 gigs at pubs and PA venues, it’s more than adequate and it sounds great. That one time I used it at that gig where my 400+ went down, the rest of the band said they preferred the sound of the Nano 300.
It’s still got the box. It comes with a power lead too. There’s a few scratches on the bottom that it must’ve picked up from other things in the bag but it’s just cosmetic.
I think it’s a good price for a private sale versus what’s out there through the trade. No trades, thanks. Postage will probably be about £5. If you want to come and try it, I’m in Gloucester.
The MB website says:
The NANO MARK 300 once again raises the bar for bass amp heads. Our smallest amp is not a toy—it gives you the Markbass tone in the most portable package possible easy to transport everywhere, featuringsimple and effective controls and yet it gives you all thevolume you need for most gigs.
It's a professional-grade amplifier you need to hear to believe such powerful sound can be delivered by such a small and lightweight package!
In fact, our lightest and smallest head only weights 3.20 lbs / 1.45 kgand has an unbelievable power-to-weight ratio, with its 300W of power in a very small and ultra-lightweight package.
Many competitors was inspired by Markbass amps manufacturing small amps too but in our case small doesn't mean "poor performance", on the contrary with the Nano Mark 300 not only you can take this ultra-little ampeverywhere, but you don’t have to sacrifice the warm and rich Markbass tone!Markbass products are known for their clarity and loyalty to the source of sound. People often use words like warm, punchy, clear, honest, accurate- even aggressive to describe Markbass. They also say that Markbass amps allow them to sound like themselves!-

Something that doesn't sound like my p bass. Not natural finish. Not single cut. No narrower than a modern jazz neck.
I refer back to my original response.
They're also relatively easy to re-sell.

Seriously, I would ask, what are you looking for in a bass? Once you understand what kind of bass you're looking for, you can then start looking at manufacturers. 4 strings, 34" is a very wide scope.

Aren't Spector American?
Spector Euro Series instruments are made in Czech Republic to very high standards. Such high standards, in fact, that Spector describe them as "production versions" of the custom shop basses.
US brand, Euro manufacture.
There's more than a few members here that will stand by the quality of Euro Spectors.
