You would have to unsolder the pots and attach tails so that they could be mounted on the plate - the sacing on a Jazz plate is less than 40mm typically. There are far more elegant off the peg solutions for a Jazz out there. But that's a whole new thread

I have a Spector USA preamp for sale - this is out of an NS5. This has cut and boost on the bass and treble and a volume and blend (it's not a Tone Pump, it's a Haz-Lab). It's effectively a three knob system (two singles and a stack). If fitted to a four knob instrument it would mean having one redundant knob. The pots for this are integral to the board and have Spector spacing centre to centre (48mm). The pots can actually be removed from teh board and you can put tails on if you're up for some soldering. It's dead simple. Just bung a USB in the back and connect to a PC/MAC and it'll be recognised as a soundcard effectively when you fire up your sequencer. Well, that's was how it was for me.

This is the new Spector Tone Pump with the adjustment trim pot. According to a few people a major improvement over the old Tone Pump. This one has never been installed, it's still in the packaging. I'm told they are £99 new. [b]£50[/b] Posted.

I agree with what Pete said about the DJ5 with Aeros - fantastic. I've played his white one, albeit acoustically and it has a lovely feel to it and is very resonant; it was ages ago but I remember how nice it was. Dave, if you can't find a used one with Aero pups, I'd suggest going for a special order and getting Chi-Sonic pups put in, they are amazing pickups and are like the Aeros in many respects but have a little bit more oomph and a bit more breathiness to them. Not everyone can live with the looks of the Chi-Sonics but I love 'em. And, yes, the bridge pickup [i]is[/i] wider than the neck pickup I guess that's to accommodate a larger magnet so the levels are more balanced?

I've seen Mr Big twice and they are well worth catching. I saw them at Newcastle City Hall in 1989/90? and in Sheffield I think on the same tour. Unfortunately I'm away on holiday with friends that weekend otherwise I'd be there. SBE is a fantastic venue, I picked up a Mr Big leaflet when I was there last month seeing Chickenfoot. If my holiday is rescheuled I'll go. Maybe someone ought to arange a Basschatters' meet before the gig? -

My band rehearse at 10am some Saturdays, it means me leavng home at 8.30, we're usually finished by 5pm, which is nice as it gives me the evening to do normal-people stuff if we're not gigging.
