1. City Boy vs Country Bumpkin Gig Bag vs Hard Case Pacific Ocean vs Gloucester-Sharpness canal It's like the rumble in the (virtual) jungle!
2.
Me too, dreadful hideous album. Have we gone back to the bloody '80s?
It's an unpretentious, well executed, good-time, nostalgia trip. If you're looking for a message or anything ground-breaking then I suggest people look elsewhere. Dreadful and hideous? Take a chill pill...
3. Hi I'm selling this B2.1u as it's no longer getting any use. Great little unit - can be used as a PC interface for recording or a practise unit. Nice effects and models AND it has an XLR socket so that it can be used as a DI box. It's very versatile indeed Thanks Sean
4.
Great bass there Sean, what are the differences between these and the SRX705 ?
These have the EMG J pups in which give it that Spector-ish zing, the SRX705 has the MM type pups. The neck is a slightly different profile and has the very Spector-ish inlays as well as teh afgain very Spector-ish gold nut, which, just a Spector falls out when the strings are off it! It's very light, I'll weigh it tomorrow at the test shop in work but I'm guessing it's under 8lbs. It has a fantastic B string, much better than I ever thought a 34" scale one could be and better than many 35s.
5. If you do fancy one of these then check my feedback before you buy any other ones.
6. Ibanez DWB35 Doug Wimbish Signature Series 5-string Bass with Original Ibanez Hard Case Up for sale is this DWB35. This is now a rare instrument as Doug Wimbish only licenced a limited number to be made. The production ran from 2004 - 2006. This is one of that number. All the hardware is in top condition and there are no marks on the bass. The shape and tone available from this is amazing. The EMG pickups on this bass are superb. The B string is very tight and has a nice defined sound and feeling that makes any venue rock! :-) What the reviews say... Ibanez launched a new Doug Wimbish signature bass, the 5-string DWB35 at Winter NAMM. According to Ibanez, the new bass has "the wide range of tones needed by the first call N.Y. session artist who's played with everyone from Living Colour to the Rolling Stones." The DWB35 5-string joins the Wimbish signature 4-string, the DWB3. The DWB35 features a thru-body 5 pc maple/bubinga neck for superior strength tone and easy upper-fret access. The body wings are ash. As per Wimbish's preference, the DW35 features EMG pickups. A two-band EQ customized for Doug Wimbish provides quick and wide variations in tone. Says Wimbish of his new model, "My 5-string represents five long years of research and development. It's truly a work of art. One of the best 5-string basses Ibanez has ever made–and that says something! I designed it so I could get a wide and different range of sounds with ease both live and in the studio. It's got a great dynamic and great fundamentals. I think players will find it very easy, very useful and very, very fun to play." Model DWB35 5-String Specs: * List £1149.99 * Available Finish BBL Bright Blue * Body Material Light Ash * Neck Material 5 pc Maple/Bubinga * Neck-Thru * Neck Scale 34" * No. Frets/Type 24/Medium * Fingerboard Rosewood * Inlay Pearl Abalone Oval * Bridge Accu-Cast B200 * H/W Color Gold * Neck Pickup EMG40J * Bridge Pickup EMG40J * EQ EQB DW2 Active 2-Band * Controls Volume w/Gain Boost, Balance, Bass Boost/Cut, Treble Boost/Cut * Other Special Features Hipshot Licensed Tuners * Case MB100C * Case List £139.99 Everything on and about the bass is in great condition. The hard case has a few scrapes though but this is just cosmetic and doesn't affect the integrity of the case at all. It is the original Ibanez case and covered in a leatherette type material. 7. I read the CD reviews in BGM this month and it's pretty obvious that the reviewer hasn't even listened to them. I've heard more material off the Chickenfoot album than he has!
8. I've had a ton of instruments over the years but the one that has seen the longest continuous service is my current blue Spector Euro LX4 with ACG pre-amp. It's been my go-to bass for six months now, every gig, every rehearsal - this may not sound long to many and it isn't but I have barely touched anything else in this time including the ones hanging on the wall. Why? It sounds so good in the mix with the band and with a tweak of the preamp sounds great at home on its own. It's light, comfortable, has a fantastic neck and an irresistible zingyness. I was so impressed I bought a Euro LX5, which as well as the obvious extras is a tad more commanding and luxurious in it's tone - must be the extra wood and extended scale - but still essentially the same.
9.
You don't want a nice hard case for your Hohner do you?.......
Thanks for the offer but I sold it a couple of weeks ago.
10.
Hi, Got a Pandora PXB4 that has gone faulty. Does anyone know how to open the thing up for repair? Cheers, Dave.
Get in touch with Korg, I have found them very helpful in the past. If it's still in warranty they are very quick at fixing things.
11. I got one of these for mine. I ordered it through amazon.com - it's here Although there's a routing on the Synapse for these they attach quite easily to the B2A type basses - I drilled an extra hole and used modified rubber washers. There is one little problem, though. They only deliver within the US, so you'll have to find someone to accept delivery and forward on to you.
12.
We have 3 rats, a hamster, 1 crested gecko, 2 Tokay Geckos, 3 Giant madagascan Day geckos and a Royal Python
Rats are so cool.
13. The MB/Berg combination is phenomenal - I've been over the moon with mine and have no desire to change. Can't say the same for the Roscoe I have. Nothing wrong just doesn't give me the zingy goodness the Spectors do. Glad you're happy with your rig - let's hope you have many happy years with it
14. I've imported 3 basses in last few years all at $2:£1 so haven't done it for a while. If it's a bolt on and comes without a hard case get the guy to remove the neck - this reduces the volumetric weight for shipping hugely and you'll save a bundle. Adding 20 - 22% to the price + shipping usually comes in at what it'll cost by the time you get it home.
15. A fabulous guy with an impeccable taste in basses. Great to meet you and I really wish you all the best with the new band, some fantastic times ahead with that one I'm sure. Bought a Spector from Alan - great bass, thanks very much.
16. Hi All I'm offering my immaculate Hohner B2ADB for sale. It was bought last year and will be shipped in all the original packaging. This bass has the D-tuner, which works beautiful and is very easy to live with. The quality of these basses is great and they play really well but the only issue I find is that they don't sit well or balance properly when on a strap so to resolve this issue I bought a special Steinberger extender arm which screws to back of the body enabling it to balance exactly like a standard bass - it works and sorts the problem brilliantly by making the strap fixing point just above the 15th fret . You can see the extender fitted below. These little arms are only available in the US and for one reason or another they will not send them out of the country so I picked this up on a recent trip . The electrics are two Select by EMG humbuckers, which may be used in active or passive mode (in case of battery failure) and the adjustable preamp has bass and treble adjustments via a stacked pot. The body is solid maple and the quality of construction is superb, easy access to upper frets and a nice slim, standard 34" scale Jazz-ish neck. I'm also offering a quality Ritter gig bag, which makes this portable beauty even more so with its rucksack-type straps. Also included are two sets of Status Hotwire double ball-end strings. Reason for sale ? It's not getting used . It's been used a little bit at home and it's been to rehearsals as a spare but never made it out of the gig bag. I'm in Gloucester if you would like to try before you buy. Thanks for looking. Sean PS: Apologies that the lawn isn't up to Warwickhunt's high standards but we've had a lot of rain lately.
17. I'm guessing from the pics that it's more a Jazz profile neck than a P type?
18. Mic in front of cab if we have strangers doing the sound, DI pre if it's our regular guy.
19. Gibson? Big name? Maybe for guitars. I wonder what Bassassin voted?
20. The upgrades (v2.2 onward) also allow connection to a Mac and give a bolder font on the display making the whole thing look a bit more substantial. Great gadget, we use it loads at rehearsal and gigs. I'd also recommend getting a tripod for it so you can position it to get the best sound.
21.
Thanks for posting that. So do you have it fixed now ?
Yes, all sorted now. Lots of peopel have searched for these diagrams over the years it seems so hopefully they'll come in useful.
