This might sound silly but in my mind the white JJ Classic is like a BBNE2 on 'roids at 60% the price tag.
@Paulhauserwhat's the string spacing?

Getting curious as to what is brewing. Seems like I didn't get the memo? 🙂
In a nutshell. Bass Direct talking to Spector about a Euro limited run.
Spector-nerds on BC speculating/suggesting/fantasising spec. BD not ready to confirm details yet.

Maybe you should meet the Rickenbacker people and tell them "These aren't the Kipenbacker special orders you are looking for" 😉
I could easily live with one. Especially in that ultra violet finish the Euro X came in.
I need to get much longer arms before I have a Euro X.

When did it become OK to use the R-word on this forum? I saw one for sale here a while back, how things change.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it being a Kipenbacker special order. That will never happen. It would be standard NS2 shape.
You’ve gotta plant seeds. The power of suggestion. That big tree of yours, that was a seed once 😀

No prob, glad that you still find time to reply here, cool stuff, but just to have a better understanding, are we talking days, or weeks, or months or years?
It probably depends on what percentage cut Mr Kip Winger wants on his purple Euro 4 Signature models with Ian Hill profile necks 😉
They've got to do costings and set up the CNC for those new body shapes too.

I’m not into buying new (unless it’s something exceptional/collectable/rare because there’s better value/quality on the used market) however in this case, it’s for a backup piece of kit that’s relatively cheap (£299), highly rated by buyers and comes with a 3 Year Warranty and free shipping at Thomann.
I bought some new Parkside power tools (3 Year Warranty) as backup for my essential DeWalt and Makita tools. In this case, I would buy it. That 3 Year Warranty is a good deal. I’m not sure if that’s just a Thomann deal.
As for brand snobbery, I wear Parkside T-shirts so you need to speak to someone else.

One of them has motivated me to sell something I've got.

All very cool. What's the history of the NS-94 as a model? How did that come about as a design? Looks intriguing to me.
-
Well, the songs are Dancing in the Dark and Learn to Fly. There's a few others too.
Hence it's an Eb Standard and play those up a semitone.

Lita Ford and Vixen in July at KK's
Adrian Vandenberg in May at KK's

1. No, the 'Classic' range has a weight relieved body.
I ought to go and play one but does "weight relieved body" mean "prone to neckdive"?
I'm happy with a 4.2-4.5kg bass. Really.
I'm the sort of bloke that drinks tea if I'm driving, rather than alcohol-free beer. I'm happy with things as nature intended 😉

I always think the idea of the Low B is not to use the low B but to allow you to go a few semitones below E.
One of the originals bands I play in does a lot of songs in Drop B tuning. I'm hammering up and down a Bm scale with a low B ringing out a lot. It was only when I started playing this stuff I realised that a low F# would do for me what a low B does for what you're talking about. Hypothetically, of course.

I first met him when I was rehearsing in his rehearsal studio somewhere in the middle of a field with a dead Scirocco parked outside.
Yes, I remember that Scirocco, my best friend from school had one very similar!

After longer than I can remember searching for something other than the two semi-active originals bands I've been in for ages, I've got an audition in a couple of weeks. 5 cover songs, nailed them already and will continue to embed them every day until I go.
"Just bring a bass, you won't need backline, the sound guy will sort everything for you."
It's OK to take a DI + comp, right?

I thought the music you were playing was classic rock. Dunno where I got that from
I would probably just match what the guitarist does. If he can play those tunes a step up then chances are it will sound and play fine a step up on bass too.
Yep. After talking to the guitarist, that's what I've decided; same as him.

1. Does this have solid maple wings? Is it pretty much a re-issue pre-'03 Euro?
https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/spector-bass-euro-4-classic-solid-white-gloss/
2. What's that EMG preamp like? In other words, will I need transplant and LHZ? How close to classic NS2?
3. Will I be able to sing like Mr G Sumner if I buy it?
-
USA Spectors.
They will be worthless in the future. It's probably time to offload them for a few hundred quid now before they bottom out.
If you need some help shifting yours, I know a chap that can help.

I've just picked up a Plex at a ridiculous bargain price. I use the RB800 model in the HX Stomp but you can't have too much redundancy.

This is what I do. Our singer likes Eb. I've never broken a string (thus far, at any rate) or needed a back-up instrument on a gig.
I saw a bassist’s Hipshot Xtender fall apart during a gig last week. It was a proper ticketed gig with about 150 audience. He didn’t have a spare bass. Awkward.

An absolute pleasure to deal with all round. GK amp arrived exactly as described, beautifully packed, even the delivery driver was charming. Gary kept me up to date all the way. Highly recommended.
