This is back up for sale. I had to temporarily withdraw it because I needed it while its replacement was sent back to Thomann and exchanged under warranty. So, let's try again. Steve

I've just taken delivery of another P3110. Thomann sent me a new one, rather than repair the old one. It's been going now for, let's see..., yep - 45 minutes. That's as long as the first one lasted, so maybe this one's going to be OK. I'm going to use it at home for practice for a few days before cranking it up at band rehearsal. Wish me luck. Steve

We're going to play that this afternoon through the CD player on the TV and then I'll use the combo for the first time. Is that what you meant?!

All being well, I should get my new (warranty replacement) Ibanez Promethean combo today. If this one lasts long enough, I'd like to take it to band practice tonight. Is there such a thing as a "playing in" period for a new speaker? Steve

For the 45 minutes mine was working properly, I thought the tone was pretty middy. The Phat knob is a mid-scoop control and I ended up with it at about half-way to scoop out some of the prominent mids that seemed to give quite a "barky" tone. All that was at home though, so it'll be different in a rehearsal room. let us know how you get on with yours. Steve

My Promethean P3110 is now back at Thomann for repair or replacement. Just wondered if anybody else has got one (Highfox?) and how you're getting on with it? I need to decide quickly whether to accept a straight replacement or ask Thomann for something else. Trouble is, what would that be?

Yeah - I'm well and truly p***ed-off this morning. I think I'll ask for a full refund and look out for a 2nd hand Minimark or Tecamp Puma, apart from the fact they'll still cost appreciably more than the Promethean. Or maybe I'll continue to take my GK MB500/Barefaced Compact rig to rehearsals.

I have 2 mains leads so I'll try both and report back. Mutter, effing, $%@!... OK - I've just re-tried both of my power leads, ensuring that they were well-and-truly pushed home into the power socket. Same result for both - crackle, volume coming and going, then silence. I've just emailed Thomann. Thing is, I'm now wondering whether I want another one, or something else. Steve

Folks, You're not going to believe this. I took delivery of a Promethean 3110 this morning from Thomann. Of course, it came with a 2-pin plug European power lead, so I used a new UK, standard 3-pin plug power lead. Read the manual, fired up the amp and it all worked properly, as far as I could tell. Played for 45 mins while trying out different EQ settings, then had lunch. Fired it up again after lunch - oh dear. First, there was a crackling noise, then the amp lost volume, then the volume came and went randomly. I tried a different instrument lead, different power lead, different bass - all with the same result. Finally, I used my Eden E10 combo which worked perfectly as usual. So, looks like the Promethean's faulty. Going to return it to Thomann. Not sure wether I want a replacement now. Steve

I bought this new 11 months ago to replace my Line 6 studio 110 that died. I've only used it for home practice and it's been perfect for that. It's never been pushed anywhere close to its volume limit. It's small enough to hide behind the sofa and the tone is plenty good enough for home use. It doesn't sound thin or weedy. Thanks to Dave Bass 5, it seems that the Fralins have one black, one white wire while the Laklands have one black wire, one red wire.
