1. Guys, I need to say something here. I've added this comment to my original post: IMPORTANT EDIT: Obviously, this is a public forum and I'm already regretting posting my original comments. It's entirely possible that some basschatters will be able to work out who I'm referring to and I certainly do not want to cause any personal embarrassment. I think I've allowed my frustrations to get the better of my judgement. So, I do not intend to make any more comments about the individual because he's a friendly guy who really enjoys his guitar-playing. Somewhat red-faced, I'll go and get me coat.
  2. In one of the bands I play in, the lead guitarist is gadget-mad. He turns up with 16 floor pedals, an ebow and 3 guitars. Consequently there is always some sort of signal-path problem with his rig; feedback, dodgy connections, kilometres of cabling. When he's not spending time trying to work out why he's getting all manner of weird noises, he's forever fiddling with switches and buttons, in his own gadget world. Now, the singers are also turning up with floor effects pedals... Last rehearsal, it took almost two hours to set up. We did 2 songs because, as usual, the guitarist was plugging and unplugging this and that, chasing random screeches and weird echoes. I said that if he couldn't sort it all out for the 3rd song, I was going home. That's what happened. Afterwards, when I asked if all his STUFF was absolutely necessary, he said "Yes - I'm not going to change". I'm getting very frustrated with all the gadget-driven problems, hanging around and distractions. After 4 months of lots of hard work, we're on the verge of gigging, so I don't want to walk away now - too much time and effort invested. But, I can see this happening again and again. Not sure what I should do... IMPORTANT EDIT: Obviously, this is a public forum and I'm already regretting posting my original comments. 3. I have no connection with this person, and I'm at least 35 years too old for this - but somebody else may fit the bill. I've looked at the singer's YouTube videos and I was really impressed with her voice. 4.
Provisionally sold!
Phew! Thank goodness for that. My Blazer is every bit as good as my MIA P and MIJ P. Apart from the fact it's red. I was beginning to eye up cocco's as a companion for it. Can relax now.

  7. Bump-up for a really nice 2008 MIA Precision. First post left unedited so the subsequent posts still make sense in relation to it. Steve
  8.
Well you may have misjudged it (we're a bit too clever by 'alf here sometimes ) but hey how many bumps have you got. Its been amusing oh and heres your coat back A
Coat return appreciated. My attempt at a light-hearted sales thread has not gone as planned. Sort of. So - to return to the sale - anybody want to buy my 2008 MIA Precision?
  9.
Well! You should have said Looks great, GLWTS. Cheerz, John
GLWTS?
  10.
That actually makes sense. What happened at the first post? Were you BaCraped?
Well, my plan was for a "teaser" campaign where I drip-fed information over a period of time to periodically re-kindle interest and bump the thread. Seems I misjudged it. Steve
  11. Folks, I'm concerned that some people may have misinterpreted my attempt at a self-bumping "For Sale" post. To avoid any further possible confusion, here's what's happening; I really do have a lovely MIA 2008 Precision for sale. Here's the spec: Serial no: Z8091250 2008, black body, maple neck and fingerboard, white/black/white try-ply scratchguard, high-mass bridge and carbon-reinforced neck. Completely unaltered except for the Status halfwound strings. Comes with Fender SBK hard case, with all the bits and bobs: Truss-rod tool, Owner's manual, case key, allen keys, unused Fender strap. It's never been gigged. I've taken it to a few rehearsals and to a few gigs as a back-up to either my G&L or my Ibanez Blazer. Consequently, it's in really nice condition with only the very faintest hint of buckle-rash on the back. Other than that, I'm struggling to find any marks at all. I'm selling it because it's too nice to be sitting at home unused or merely taken out as a backup. The last thing I want is for some drunken punter to trip over it at a boisterous pub gig. Anybody who is interested is most welcome to come round and try it out. I'm at home most of the time. Photos: Send me your email by PM if you want any more information, or a specific camera angle. Hope that clarifies the situation. Peace. Steve
  12. Bump-up for a really nice 2008 USA Precision in virtually unmarked condition. I'll leave my first post (below) unedited so that the subsequent posts make sense in relation to it. Full details of the bass are at post no. 12. Steve Hi, I'm selling my base guitar 'coz I don't play it no more. Looks like this: Any questions? Just ask...
  13.
Do you have some pictures of your American P as I may be interested. Cheers Rowley
Here you go: Plenty more photos available Steve

  17. Chrome Badass 2 bridge for sale. It's just been removed from my newly acquired MIJ Precision. It's the 5 screw model. I've cleaned it and buffed it and it's in very good condition with virtually no tarnishing or pitting at all. Saddles have been lightly filed. Screws included, so it's ready to rock. £55 including postage to your door. Cheers, Steve
  18.
May well be interested in the badass for my MIJ 62 Precision. It's got Hipshot HB3 tuners fitted and a decent bridge seems to be a logical step as far as up-grading goes.
Pm'd you. Badass 2 now for sale if you want it.
  19. Folks, I got the bass this morning. It was in a bit of a state, but a few hours of scrubbing, cleaning and fumigating have made it much more presentable. Doesn't smell like a rugby changing room now. I've removed the badass and replaced it with the original bridge. New set of strings and then the fun started with a setup. Out came the neck shim that was there to compensate for the the thicker baseplate of the Badass. Adjusting the truss-rod's a real pain because you have to take the neck off each time. You can't even get to the adjuster by taking off the pickguard. Neck off, tweak truss-rod, neck on, tune up, neck off... Anyway, it's sounding good. I'm surprised at the trebly tone, even with half-wounds on. Through the practice amp it sounds appreciably more jazz-like (compared to the Ibanez) than I was expecting. Band practice tonight - we'll see how we get on. Thanks to everybody for your help and advice with this, Steve

  21.
That'll change. Mark my words.
Well - we'll see! The Blazer has already taken over from my USA P and my USA G&L L2000. If the Fotoflame is as good or better than the Blazer - especially in the mids tone - I'll be very happy indeed.
