1. Thank you everybody for your help and advice. I've bought it. The plan is that it will be the back-up to my main gigging bass which is an Ibanez Blazer. I have a mint 2008 USA P which is too valuable to have lying around unused (I prefer the tone of the Ibanez), and too valuable to risk getting damaged at pub gigs as a back-up for the Ibanez. So, it may well be that I'll sell the USA P. Black/white/maple if anybody's interested... Steve
2. Seller says serial number is S028XXX. I've asked for a photo of the base of the neck showing it. All being well, I'm poised to buy. I have a USA P, so I'll be able to compare the two basses. Steve
3.
Wrong, the first two notes are up an octave. If you can't hear that i really suggest you do some work on ear training. G--------|-------|-----------7-9-12-14-| D-7------|-------|-----7-8-10----------| A--------|-8-----|-8-10----------------| E--------|-------|---------------------|
Unfortunate choice of words here!?
4.
Get in bought I really like the foto flame Strat I have its an excellent guitar. A Jap made P bass for £300 (after selling the badass) what's not to like
You're being very helpful and very unhelpful at the same time!
5.
Id buy it at that. You can sell the bad ass on and buy a replacement bridge. Well worth the money
It comes with the original bridge so, yes - I could recoup some of the cost by selling the Badass bridge. Very tempting...
6. I'm assured that it has no cracks in the finish, only scratches around the strap pins. It's been offered to me for £340 including gigbag. It's miles away from me, so I'm buying it without seeing it. Worth a punt?

8. Photo attachment cock-up. Bear with me...
9. Folks, I've got my eye on this, which the seller says is a 1996 MIJ P. It has a Badass bridge, but the original is included in the sale. Apparently it's in good condition with only minor cosmetic scratches. Googling throws up little information about this flame finish. Do the Fender experts think it's a genuine MIJ P? Any thoughts about what it's worth? (Photo now removed) Steve
10. That's got to be one of the simplest, clearest, most accessible lessons I've seen. Thank you Scott.
11. Yep - I have my tried and tested version. Send me your email via PM and I'll send it to you. Steve
12. I've exchanged emails with the seller. I specifically asked him if the crack was in the body, or just in the paint on the surface. He said: " the crack in the body is about 4 inches long and hasn't got any worse since i've owned the guitar (which is over 2 years), it's a mystery to me why it's there, my theory is it was left somewhere hot, who knows, i think that answers all your questions, feel free to ask any more."
13. It was on Ebay for £250 and nobody bid. It has a "crack in the paintwork" on the back. Hmmm...
14. Bags first dibs if you decide to sell it. Edit: I'm out.
15. See; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2114542/Guitar-saved-tip-100-year-old-instrument-worth-4000.html
16.
hi steve approx 38 mm -( eyes not what they were!!) = very fast and playable
Hmmmm - probably too tight for my hulking great paws.
17. I have an Ibanez Blazer too. How does the neck on the Warwick compare to the Blazer's, would you say? What's the width at the nut? Steve
18.
Looks pretty right to me... I'm going to change the strings on mine this weekend. I'll whip the neck off and have a look at the pocket. Looks familiar though.
Thanks. I suppose I'm most concerned that this body is a MIM Fender Deluxe and not a Squier. From looking at pictures of both, it seems to me that this is an MIM Fender Deluxe. The three knobs would suggest it's passive - which is what I want. So, I think I'll take a chance on it. Just need to find an MIM/MIJ/MIA P neck ( not a J - I have hulking great paws for hands) to drop into it now... Steve
19. Utter bargain. Let's see if Ou7shined is out of bed yet...
20. Folks I have my eye on this body. The seller says it's a "2002 MIM Fender Precision Bass Deluxe body. Alder" I'm no Fender expert at all, so I thought I'd ask the opinion of those who know here. I've asked if it's passive or active. Anything else I should ask? Photos: Thanks, Steve
21. I was watching that. It went for £165, which was £15 more than the limit I'd set myself. Oh well...
