1. My current favourites: Husky Tuffskins Up against it Northern Rock Deservedly So
 2.
Yep - 'Tired Old Sh*te' it is then
That's helpful.
 3. The newly-formed I joined recently is having a lively internal debate about the band's name. We play soft-rock/pop/indie covers. Some of the band favour "quirky"/fun names like Creative Chair Bending or The Spotted Frogs or Spiny Norman or Bats in Bikinis or Blame it on Leslie. Other people (I'm one of them) would choose a band name that gives promoters and audiences some sort of idea of the music we play. So - what do we think, folks?
 4. There is a 3rd option; An unlined fretless with a full set of fret markers along the top edge of the fingerboard that only you can see. Some fretless Stingrays have this. You could get an unlined fretless and pay a luthier to put accurate position lines along the top edge of the neck, like this; http://basschat.co.uk/topic/165526-cheap-but-decent-starter-fretless-sold/page__p__1504679__hl__cheap%20fretless__fromsearch__1#entry1504679
 5. He was prepared to post - I asked him. However, I couldn't get any extra photos from him, or answers to some specific questions I asked. So, I decided not to chance it.
 6. The only reason I sold this was because I bought a USA L2000 which I thought would be a better bass. Frankly, in a noisy band setting, I would prefer the natural/maple L2000 Tribute because it cuts through more. Mistake made, lesson learned. *Sigh* Steve
 7.
Hi Steve Yeah, that's right - just the RH450 paired with RS112 - the band is predominantly acoustic but there are a lot of them. I found that the sound I got was very 'focused' which I guess helped to cut through the band and due to the nature of the music/arrangements the part I play isn't often obscured but the other parts. I'm afraid you've just missed out on this one as it's now sold - hope you find what you're looking for... Cheers John
Thanks for your reply John. My lonely search continues.
 8.
Without getting into the debate about power efficiency of digital amps (there are already plenty of threads about that!), I can genuinely confirm that the Reidmar is very loud at it's power rating. If you jump back post #101 on this thread the image I posted will surprise you as much as it surprised me.
Yes - I saw that. I've read through the whole thread. Some parts are pretty technical and I'm struggling to keep up. The TC Classic drives the BF Compact well enough, but I've noticed I'm already at 3/4 main volume at rehearsal. I'm a bit concerned that I'll run out of headroom at gigs (coming up shortly). I was wondering whether the Reidmar would give me more volume and more headroom than the TC Classic. I like things simple - no valves, small number of knobs, passive basses, no pedals. Plug 'n' play, that's me.
 9. Folks, I have a TC Classsic 450 driving a BF Compact. I'm slightly concerned that I'm not accessing the full potential of the Compact. Would the Reidmar give me more volume for pub-rock gigs, do you think? Steve
 10.
OK, which one are you saying yes to?
I've got these courses soon - perhaps I'd better check the course programmes: Illegal pumping and rocking - especially just after the start. Gybing on the inside. Keeping your height on the beat.
 11.
Can you drive a boat? Unless 'driving the rescue boat' is a porn euphemism, obviously.
Yes - I had to go on a special 3-day course to learn how. We had practicals and videos, and we got to practise with each other.
 12.
I once had my porn shoot cancelled due to a loud band next door.
It was you who complained then! I've just emailed the band to let them know I can't rehearse on Sunday because I'm driving a rescue boat.
 13.
I've used it with a big band - drums, keys, guitar, 5 trumpets, 4 trombones and 5 saxes and it's never been pushed - I've probably not used half of the available power... it's a big, powerful, focused sound from a very portable rig... what kind of gig are you planning on using it for?
Can I just be clear what you're describing here, please? Are you saying that the RH450 head with just the RS112 cab was loud enough to cope with your big band, even though the cab's only rated at 200W? I'm looking for a small cab to pair up with my Classic 450 to leave at the rehearsal room. 5-piece pub-rock band with 2 guitars and a heavy-handed drummer. Steve
 14. Even cheaper (£192) if you buy B-stock: http://www.thomann.de/gb/ashdown_little_giant_1000_b_stock.htm?sid=c9ff8bc4e2fc5168277ef7bee468a39c
 15.
"You haven't paid my gas this week" ... from a drummer the band used to collectively pay gas to
You paid your drummer for Gear Acquisition Syndrome!?
 16.
Steve, if I`d have known you were playing Mustang sally, I`d have rung up to complain..
Yeah, I know. However, I've had some success with getting the band to not play Summer of '69. We're getting there. The ladies (and their minders) you meet in the car park sort of make up for it, though.
 17.
so getting back to where this rehearsal studio actually is?
Manchester.
 18.
I have had these excuses... "Can we reschedule this week? My dog is expecting to give birth." "The studio we booked this week got shut down because of a drug raid by the cops." "I really fancy a curry this week...shall we all do that instead?" "I don't have any drum sticks." "Oh...I didn't realise that I got the gig and you wanted me to come back after the audition!?" "I ran out of weed and I had to sell my guitar." "I went to Tesco's to buy milk for the tea tonight and when I got back to the car some d*** reversed full pelt into me an 2 other cars in the car park." "Can't make it tonight because you all do my head in." (we took that as his resignation!)
Some good ones here!
 19.
Ummm... where do you rehearse....? *whistles...*
We're supposed to stop playing at 10 pm because after that they're filming. One week we went on to 10-15 and there was a complaint. I think we were doing Mustang Sally at the time. So to speak.
 20.
Drummer has a chest infection that four different antibiotics have failed to shift so far
I'm currently on my second load of antbiotics for a chest infection. Can't shift it.
 21.
I have a TC Classic 450 and a BF Compact. I have just added a BF Midget, which I used for the first time at rehearsal last night. And I am still smiling. Physical connections are easy - daisy chain the speakers as both have 2 x speakon sockets. The Midget adds what the Compact lacks, and Compact adds what the Midget lacks, both together exceed the sum of the parts.
Yes - this is another option. My Compact only has 1 speakon, however - hence the need for a Y splitter.
 22. All these have happened to me recently: The singer's buggered off to Bulgaria to sell timeshare apartments without telling anybody The porn studio next door has complained about the noise The drummer's headbutted the tailgate of his car and has had to go to A&E The rehearsal barn has nesting bats and we can't disturb them The lead guitarist has injured himself taking down some shelves What has everybody else had to put up with? Steve
 23.
OP - just to clarify, do you mean TC Classic 450?
Ooops - yes, I meant TC Classic 450. I've checked with Soundunlimited who sell the Edens. Their reply: "I have just checked. The review is correct. There is only 1 1/4" jack on the back i'm afraid." I've also checked with B/C's Ed S who has an EX112 and he says his only has the 1/4" jack.
 24.
The link below is to Edens spec for the EX cabs. It states there are two speakons, and one 1/4 inch jack. http://www.eden-elec...ES%20Manual.pdf To be safe though, why not e-mail Eden and ask them. http://www.eden-elec...ntact/index.asp
Confusing! I've sent them an email. Thanks Lozz. Steve
 25.
First thing is to avoid using the jackplug option if at all possible. Most cabs these days have two speakon sockets on the back and I can't find anything to say the the Eden EX112s are any different. So, the easiest solution is to feed the output from the head into the first cab using a speakon to speakon lead. Run another speakon to speakon lead from the extra socket on the back of that cab into a socket on the next cab and you're sorted. The total load seen by the amp (if you are using two 8Ω cabs) will be 4Ω.
From what I've read about these cabs, all they have on the back is one 1/4" jack plug socket. Amazon review: "I bought this cabinet for small acoustic gigs as well as home practice. It has the Eden sound in a very small package. It's great. A very nice balanced tone. I haven't had any issues with it's handling for my needs. My only complain is that it comes with a single 1/4" plug with no daisy chain option, nor does it come with speak on outputs."
