This looks awfy like Bar Bloc in Glasgow. Correct?
Correct sir!
ps. is it not too thin tone wise all the time with just the bridge pup?
A lot of the time it is quite thin sounding but i run a weird sound i guess, it's basically a clean guitar sound that i can loop with etc. Then my distortion is EQ'd.
the humming can be stopped by sheilding the pup and control cavity with copper foil..
I was wondering why people did this! I have both the foil and the glue lying around my house but thanks for the help -
I saved up for months and with my paper round money to pay for my beloved jazz. To me, it is the only bass I (still after 5 years) feel comfortable playing. First up I bought a standard Jazz in black with a rosewood neck. Immediately I replaced the bridge pickup with a 1980's CIA fender jazz pickup. For my sound I don't use the neck pickup at all and always had it turned all the way down. Here is how it started out (i'm 15 in this picture) Eventually I found I caught my fingers (bad technique) on the controls and the neck pickup so I removed them. Having just my bridge pickup straight into the jack. I'd never been happier with my bass it's the perfect sound for me. However she'd seen better days as she'd been bashed around a lot and had start chipping like hell (see last picture) so one very bored winter day i decided to strip all the paint off and i've had it like this for 2 years now or so: Again, after being bashed around after 2 years of a lot of touring the neck finally gave way in January this year and I replaced it with a nice maple fretboard one which was even nicer than the last: Anyway, I've had a few days downtime after tour and i've decided that after nearly buying a few basses a few weeks ago I needed something to spice things up again so i've gone and started repainting her again. I'm making a proper effort and everything! I'm filling in the empty pickup hole as well: And this is her tonight after the first coat of sky blue: Will post a final picture sometime this week! Before I go... Anyone know how to solve the unrelenting humming which i assume is caused by having a single coil pickup going straight into a jack? Matt

I haven't got a the time to fiddle around with it. My Korg tuner has gone as well. if anyone did actually want it for £50 i'll throw in the tuner as well! Could be something really easy to fix but I have intense band practices for our trip to america starting this sunday and i need a whammy for it. DM me if you're interested x

OK. Update. I bought a new PSU and it's still doing exact same thing (damn) I've taken it out of the casing and there are no apparent loose solder / burnt out components. There's a little light on the electronic board that is lit the whole time the PSU is plugged in which i assume means that it's receiving power. When i plug the PSU in the lightboard flashes and then instantly goes out. So it basically must be a component some time after the power input. Could anyone offer any help? Does anyone know any effects pedal repairmen? Here's what it looks like:
-
I definitely need it- sorry guys It doesn't turn off when I rock the thingy because I don't get the chance because it won't turn on in the first place. I think it might be the PSU just because it's so intermittent and works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. its not a dodgy input lead because i've tried it with other leads, it's not the power input either because when it has worked i can move that around at all angles and its fine. so aggravating when equipment doesn't work properly!

I got a (secondhand) whammy for xmas. It keeps cutting out and then starts working again at it's own leisure which proved really bloody annoying when it comes that part of your set when you need to use it and it just doesn't turn on... The problems seems to become more frequent since I first got it. Do you think it's the power supply or the actual pedal itself? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

We recorded this EP way back in September and planned to have it out literally that month for our tour but the producer took 2 and a half months to mix it. It was recorded at Lightship 95 (an actual boat) by Ben Phillips (November Coming Fire, Burn Down Rome, Rolo Tomassi etc) The EP isn't actually released until the 6th of December but you guys can download it from dropbox if you fancied it. MP3- http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6570263/PEEKAY.rar WAV- http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6570263/Peekay%20EP%20Masters.rar Also if you fancied something collectable/retro/fun you can pre-order a tape which the whole EP features on for Holy Roar Records (it doesn't say that its on it yet, because its yet to be announced) Let me know what you guys think of it! Thanks, Matt

My neck is literally on it's last legs, its at the point where i could snap it way too easily. Rather than wait for that to happen while i'm in the middle of a two week tour I'd rather buy a new neck now. I wanted to get the Mighty Mite Maple fretboard Jazz replacement. Has anyone had any experience with Mighty Mite? Will i need to alter the body at all to get it to fit? It'd be great if i could just slot it straight in... Also are they the exact same neck profiles as the fender necks? Thanks in advance. Thanks, Matt

haha, i think you've misunderstood. I'm not in Rolo Tomassi. My band run,WALK! are playing shows with Rolo Tomassi!
-
Not sure how many of you are from overseas but here's the dates anyway! 13th November- Ekko, Utrecht (NL) w/ Rolo Tomassi 14th November- Kavka, Antwerp (BE) w/ Rolo Tomassi 15th November- The Kinky Star, Ghent (BE) w/ Rolo Tomassi If anyone is around and fancies coming hit me up here and i'll stick you on the guestlist! Matt x

i had one of those. I found it wasn't loud enough, i never had enough headroom! My sound compressed evertime i turned my distortion and it would squeal like a motherflip everytime i stopped playing.
